The 8th Annual Tybee Island Charity Redfish Tournament is the largest fishing tournament in Georgia, offering over $20K in cash and prizes. This year's event promises to be the biggest yet, with the largest payouts. Anglers of all ages can participate, with regular registration priced at $65 and kids registration at $35. The tournament features a huge raffle, including a vacation package to Key West, Tybee Hotel stays, rods, reels, fishing charters, and something big! After the events, participants can enjoy the Day 1 and Day 2 After Events at Huc-a-poos. The tournament will take place on October 7th and 8th, starting with registration at 7am and the first cast at 8am. Lines must be in by 5pm on October 7th and 4pm on October 8th. The location of the tournament is North Beach, Tybee Island, with the registration tent located in the North Beach parking lot. Fishing will take place starting 100 yards to the left of the North Beach jetties. Contestants must adhere to the catch, photo, and release (CPR) event rules, with their fish measured by an official and safely released. Anglers must also have a current Georgia Saltwater Fishing License. The winner will be determined by the longest redfish, with tie breakers based on the number of spots and the time of catch. There is a 2 pole limit for each contestant. In addition to the regular prize money, anglers can enter the Calcutta/Added Entry for the chance to win the largest bluefish prize. The entry fee for this level is $10.00. The tournament supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire, a non-profit organization that provides support to critically ill and injured children and their families.
