Join the Art House Open Lectures presented by Meadow Arts and the University of Worcester’s School of Arts for Season 11. Held at The Art House in Worcester, this lecture series offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear directly from some of the most exciting contemporary artists creating work in the UK today. Engage in thought-provoking conversations with the artists through a Q&A session, connect with Worcestershire's artistic community, and gain insight into artistic processes and influences. Square Art Projects is a contemporary art gallery located in London and Venezuela. They exhibit and support emerging international artists in exhibitions and art fairs both locally and globally. One of their featured artists is Katherine Di Turi, a London-based artist whose work explores memory, the archive, and the role of analog photography in a digital era. Through collages and photograms, Di Turi delves into the connections between pre-digital image creation and the concepts of place and time. Piers Veness is another artist showcased by Square Art Projects. Inspired by minimalism and spatiality, Veness is an abstract geometric painter whose work reflects influences from artists like Josef Albers and Mark Rothko, as well as theatre designer Adolfe Appia. His work explores the expressive power of lines and the relationship between the monumental and the passage of time. If you are unable to attend in-person, the event will be live-streamed via Zoom.
