Get wormy with us! Learn how to build your own worm composting bin with the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County faculty.
Vermicomposting at home is one of the easiest ways to redirect organic waste from landfills. Worms within your compost bin will eat your kitchen scraps while at the same time creating a nutrient-rich soil. This process reduces your impact on the environment and creates natural fertilizer for your garden.
This workshop will give you all the tools you need to start a vermicompost bin in your own home with no yard or patio space needed. Not only will you receive a step-by-step guide on how to set up your bin, but you will also learn everything you need to know about keeping your compost healthy and using the rich, fertile worm castings in your garden.
Registration for the class covers the cost of the materials necessary to build your worm bin. The class size is capped at 10 individuals to ensure that our participants are all given one-on-one instructions.

The high tide alarms at St. Mark&#39;s Square are ensembled with cruise ship whistles, pigeons are excreting on the golden roof of the Governor&#39;s Palace, and the Adriatic is nibbling romance into ruins at a rate of two millimeters a year. The Labyrinth Lane hides the final miracle. In the morning mist at the Rialto fish market, glass trout refracted rainbows on broken ice, and fishmongers wearing gold chains cursed frozen cargo ships in dialect. In the mask workshop at the end of the dead lane, the old craftsman glued the long beaks of the plague doctor with rabbits, his wrinkles more twisted than the canal veins.
