"Böhmische Dörfer" is an anarchic exploration of one's own family history and its significance in the present. The young man, known only through a photo, has left behind a legacy that begs the question: What has he passed down to them? Perhaps a distinctive walk, a unique way of thinking, haunting nightmares, or even the shrapnel he brought back from Stalingrad embedded in his shoulder. The performers, driven by their lack of knowledge about their grandfather and his enigmatic influence on their present, see it as their mission to unravel the truth. They begin by learning Russian, interviewing relatives, delving into peculiar forums and endless internet archives during long nights of research. Eventually, they invite the audience to join them on a multimedia journey of discovery, traveling from the Bohemian village of Hammern, where their grandfather grew up, to the Russian metropolis of Volgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad. "Böhmische Dörfer" is an anarchic and introspective attempt to comprehend one's own family history and its impact on the present. Witness this thought-provoking performance at tak Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg in Berlin on January 19, 2024. Tickets are available for €13.86 - €20.20.
