The Canadian Masterclass Series, presented by RBC, is making its way to Montreal on Sunday, February 4, 2024. This exclusive event, led by Prima Ballerina Chan Hon Goh C.M., D.Litt., offers aspiring dancers across the country a unique opportunity to learn from some of today's most celebrated artists. For the first time ever, special guest artists will join the series, curated by Chan Hon Goh herself. We are thrilled to announce that Maude Sabourin, the current Principal Dancer of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, will be teaching the masterclasses in Montreal. With her extensive experience as both a Principal Dancer and instructor, Ms. Sabourin is sure to provide an exceptional learning experience for all participants. In addition to the masterclasses, the Canadian Masterclass Series also serves as a gateway for students to audition for the prestigious Goh Ballet Academy and potentially receive a scholarship to further their dance training. Throughout the tour, a total of $10,000 in select scholarship awards will be given out based on technique and artistic potential. All participants will have the chance to engage with Ms. Sabourin in a special 'Meet the Artist' Q&A session, allowing them to submit their questions in advance and gain valuable insights from this accomplished dancer. To be eligible for the masterclasses, students must have at least three years of ballet training and be between the ages of 10 and 19, with a minimum RAD Grade 4 or equivalent. The sessions will be divided into two levels: PIQUE (Junior Level) for ages 10-13 and completed RAD Grade 4 to Intermediate or equivalent, and JETE (Senior Level) for ages 14-19 and completed RAD Intermediate to Solo Seal or equivalent.
