Details

Celebrate the life and work of Jeannine Chartier at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum in Providence. This special event, co-hosted by Arts Equity, the RI School of Design Museum, and the RI State Council on the Arts, is a panel discussion and creative celebration that pays tribute to the legacy of Jeannine Chartier. As the Executive Director of Arts Equity, Jeannine Chartier dedicated her life to advocating for the visibility, rights, and inclusion of people with disabilities in American society. For over three decades, she collaborated with RISCA to ensure that individuals with disabilities had a voice in the Rhode Island arts and culture community. The panel discussion, taking place from 5 - 6:15 p.m., will feature esteemed speakers including Conor Moynihan, Assistant Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the RISD Museum, Casey Weibust, Director of Creative Arts at Looking Upwards, Charles Baldwin, Program Officer for Cultural Equity and Access Initiatives at Mass Cultural Council, and Dominic Quagliozzi, an accomplished artist. Following the panel, from 6:15 - 7:30 p.m., there will be a creative celebration. RSVP today to secure your spot at this remarkable event. You have the option to attend either the panel discussion or the creative celebration, or both. Please note that the panel discussion has a capacity of 200 attendees, while the creative celebration can accommodate up to 300. Registered attendees will receive updates as more details about the event become available. ASL interpretation will be provided. Join us as we come together to honor the immense contributions of Jeannine Chartier to the arts and disability community. This event is free of charge.
