Details

The Chicago Latino Dance Festival: Inaugural Season is set to kick off on September 17 at the prestigious Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago. This festival aims to bridge a gap in the city's vibrant festival scene by showcasing the rich and diverse dance styles from Latin America and Spain. With a focus on community-based dance groups and performers from often overlooked countries, this event promises to shine a spotlight on the vibrant Latino diaspora. The festival not only seeks to entertain and educate audiences, but also aims to elevate the artists and traditions of these countries, fostering cross-cultural exchange and providing a cultural outlet for artists outside of their communities. Supported by a CityArts Project grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, this event is a collaboration between the International Latino Cultural Center and the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at The University of Chicago. Don't miss the chance to experience the vibrant traditions that are an integral part of Chicago's cultural fabric. The Chicago Latino Dance Festival is sure to become an annual highlight for dance enthusiasts and lovers of Latin American and Spanish culture alike. Best of all, admission is free, so mark your calendars for this exciting event in September.
