Join Conversations @Fisher: Choreography and Design Collaboration, where acclaimed choreographer D. Chase Angier and talented designer Maureen Weiss will share their insights into the collaborative process between choreographers and designers in the realm of performance design. Discover the journey of creating the captivating piece "Letters to the World," co-created by Angier, designer Markéta Fantová, and artist Evelyne Leblanc Roberge. Gain a deeper understanding of how the visual world influences Angier's choreography and artistic practice. 

D. Chase Angier, the Artistic Director of Angier Performance Works, is a renowned choreographer, professor, curator, and arts advocate. Her movement-based performances, often set in nontheatrical surroundings, explore questions of interconnectivity, resulting in visually textured and emotionally impactful works. As a Professor of Dance at Alfred University in New York State, Angier has developed a dance program centered around creative place-making, interdisciplinary performance, and composition. She also curates and presents artists from around the world through the Marlin Miller Dance Residency Program, engaging rural audiences in New York. Additionally, Angier has been a speaker and workshop educator for several Prague Quadrennials, combining choreography and design since 2011.

The event, Conversations @Fisher: Choreography and Design Collaboration, will take place at the USC Fisher Museum of Art in Los Angeles on March 23, 2024. This exhibition, curated by Maureen Weiss and Sibyl Wickersheimer, offers a unique opportunity to experience the work of contemporary scenic designers up close and personal. Inspired by the book "Scene Shift: US Set Designers in Conversation," the exhibition showcases the artistry of designers such as Abigail DeVille, Regina Garcia, Marsha Ginsberg, Shing Yin Khor, Mimi Lien, Collette Pollard, and Deb O, among others.
