Under the guidance of their newly appointed director, Paul Flight, UCAC will showcase the remarkable works of Johann Kuhnau and Jan Dismas Zelenka from the Baroque period. Kuhnau, renowned as J.S. Bach's predecessor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, created awe-inspiring sacred choral compositions. His Magnificat, featured in this concert, promises to be a joyous and festive experience, brimming with delightful melodies. Zelenka, a contemporary of Bach, served at the court of the Elector of Saxony in Dresden.
