Projection mapping is a technique transforming various objects into dynamic display surfaces for video projection. This course will guide participants through the entire projection mapping process, utilizing TouchDesigner from content creation to projector setup and calibration. The session explores the two primary methods of projection mapping in TouchDesigner: 2D masking with KantanMapper and 3D mapping with CamSchnapp. Renowned artist and musician Woody Poulard, also known as GRNCH, will lead the event. GRNCH's expertise lies in generative audio-reactive visual installations, employing tools like TouchDesigner for real-time visuals, Blender for 3D design, and Ableton for music production. Participants will delve into GRNCH's distinctive style, characterized by abstract, futuristic visuals coupled with dark, cinematic techno and broken beat soundscapes.
