Join Flóra Carlile-Kovács, a professional felt artist and former resident of Pine Meadow Center for Arts and Agriculture, for an exclusive workshop on creating Lightweight Nunofelt Scarves. Hosted at the picturesque Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture in Sisters, Oregon, this in-person event will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM (Pacific Standard Time). During this hands-on workshop, participants will delve into the captivating world of nunofelting and have the opportunity to create their very own lightweight scarf. Flóra Carlile-Kovács, an experienced instructor and award-winning artist, will guide attendees through the process, offering insights, techniques, and tips to help them produce stunning designs. By combining wool fibers with lightweight fabrics, participants will learn the art of nunofelting and discover the immense creative possibilities of this technique. Throughout the workshop, Flóra will emphasize leaving open spaces in the silk, securing the design, and felting with precision, empowering attendees to confidently create their own unique pieces. This workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike, fostering a supportive environment for all levels of experience. Please note that this event is one of two opportunities to explore the art of felting, with the chance to create a Felted Telescope or Rosette Hat the previous day. While attending both workshops is not mandatory, we highly recommend taking advantage of this unique opportunity. Flóra Carlile-Kovács, originally from Szeged, Hungary, and now based in Seattle, WA, seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary feltmaking techniques in her work. With a commitment to both artistic integrity and functional design, she continually pushes the boundaries of her craft. To ensure a seamless experience, students should come prepared with a notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes, as well as 2 hand towels, 8x2' bubble wrap (preferably without large bubbles), a 3x2' cotton sheet, a sprinkler (if available) for wetting the felt, a container with 1 olive oil soap or coconut oil soap bar, a quart bowl for water, a (waterproof) apron if needed, and comfortable shoes. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the world of nunofelting and create your own unique Lightweight Nunofelt Scarf. Secure your spot now for this exclusive workshop at Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture in Sisters, Oregon on March 2, 2024. Tickets are available for $85.
