Join "Meet the Artist" at the Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) every Thursday evening in Kingston, NY. On September 28, Virginia Hanusik and Nicholas Pollack will be the featured artists. Hanusik will present her recent projects, which explore landscapes of extraction and the visual narrative of climate change. She will also discuss themes from her upcoming book, "Into the Quiet and the Light: Water, Life, and Land Loss in South Louisiana." Hanusik's work focuses on the photography of South Louisiana's built and natural environments, challenging disaster-oriented narratives. Pollack will provide an overview of his artistic practice, with a focus on the relationship between people and place. Copies of his book, "Meadow," will be available for purchase. "Meet the Artist" offers the opportunity to experience new work, hear about artistic processes, and meet local artists. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
