The MLK Jr Day Freedom Run HOUSTON is an event that is expected to sell out quickly. Once the waves are full, registration will close. However, if the waves are sold out, participants still have the option to sign up for the virtual run. This virtual run is a way to celebrate MLK Jr Day and the freedom that we all share from this historical movement. The run itself takes place in small, private groups with other runners and run pacers. Participants of all ages are welcome, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. The run is capped at just 15 participants per wave to ensure the health and safety of all involved. Participants will have the opportunity to run or walk through a beautiful route, providing a scenic and enjoyable experience. There is no need to bring any equipment or set up anything, as the focus is on enjoying the pure act of running. When participants sign up, they are not just signing up for a run, but for a journey towards better health. A swag bag will be mailed directly to participants, which includes a premium running shirt and a finisher's medal. Additionally, participants will gain access to a virtual community of runners from around the world. This community includes a leaderboard, activity tracking, rewards, badges, and the option to fundraise for a cause. The MLK Jr Day Freedom Run HOUSTON offers multiple wave times for participants to choose from. If a wave is sold out, participants can sign up for the virtual run option and join a waiting list for future runs. In the event that there are less than 7 runners, the run may be postponed until there are enough participants.
