Don't overlook the opportunity to attend the prestigious annual Shillam Awards at the Brisbane Sculpture Festival's Opening Night. The event will take place on May 24, 2024, from 6-8pm at Mount Coot-Tha Auditorium, located at 170 Mount Coot-Tha Road in Mount Coot-Tha, Queensland. This is a free event, but a gold coin donation or purchase of raffle tickets is appreciated to support the exhibition, which offers fantastic sculptural prizes. Visitors can mingle with exhibiting artists and the Brisbane art community, exploring indoor and outdoor sculptures. The People's Choice award allows each visitor to vote for their favorite piece, with the winner announced on June 2 at 11:30am. The festival features works from prominent Queensland sculptors, displayed in the auditorium, gardens, and throughout the Mt Coot-Tha Botanic Gardens. The outdoor exhibition, open from May 24 to August 24, presents a captivating trail of sculptures amidst the natural beauty of the gardens. The indoor exhibition, showcasing a diverse range of sculptures, will be open to the public from May 25 to June 1, from 10am to 4pm daily.
