Spring Cycle is a hands-on in-person cycle class that aims to help primary-aged children master the art of cycling with confidence. Led by NLC Active Schools Coaches and NLC Sports Development, these sessions provide a supportive environment for first-time riders. The classes focus on building confidence, spatial awareness, and dynamic balance skills, allowing children to develop their cycling abilities. The sessions last for 90 minutes and are open to children who have not yet learned to ride a bike. While participants are welcome to bring their own bikes, we also provide bikes for those in the P4-P7 age groups, with P1-P3 students required to bring their own due to the current availability. Helmets will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. The sessions take place at the Watersports Centre reception in Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell. Booking is essential, and spaces are limited. Please bring proof of booking with you. In addition, we offer cycle confidence sessions for children who have already learned to ride but would benefit from extra coaching. These sessions, also led by NLC Active Schools Coaches and Sports Development, focus on building confidence, spatial awareness, and dynamic balance skills. The sessions are open to all primary-school aged children, last for 120 minutes, and take place at the Watersports Centre reception in Strathclyde Country Park.
