La Fab in Chelsea, Quebec is hosting a Two-day Wabi-Sabi Encaustic Texture and Embedding Workshop. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of encaustic wax as a medium for creating three-dimensional art forms. Participants will learn various techniques such as texturing, layering, building up and scraping back, mark-making, and wax applications. The workshop will also cover topics like color exploration, depth creation, and the incorporation of various materials like thread, tissue papers, metallic and gold leaf. Each participant will go home with their own original painting.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, January 27th from 11 am to 2 pm for the creation of the underpainting, and on Sunday, January 28th from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm for the application of the encaustic medium. The cost of the workshop depends on the size of the wood panel chosen, with a price range from $260 to $320. All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own ephemera and other materials they wish to incorporate into their piece.
