The Urban Hike Series presents the Central Park Loop - Fall Colors Walk in New York City. This event, hosted by NewYorkSocialNetwork.com, offers a unique opportunity to explore Central Park's 483 acres during the autumn season. The walk begins at the Maine Monument, located at the 59th Street Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park. Participants will journey counter clockwise, making stops along the way to admire the park's historic landmarks and learn about its rich history. The walk lasts approximately 3-4 hours, with a break for lunch. The sights include the Carousel, Central Park Zoo & Armory, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cleopatra's Needle ancient obelisk, Conservatory Gardens, North Meadow, North Woods, Pinetum, Strawberry Fields, Tavern on the Green, and Sheep Meadow. The walk is mostly flat, covering about 6 miles, although there is a large hill on the Upper West Side that may require participants to walk. Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Bringing food and water is recommended. In the event of rain, a determination will be made the night before regarding the walk's status.
