As soon as I entered the room, before I even touched the bed, I found a short hair on the bedsheet (I have long hair, so it couldn't have been mine). Also, later that night, I wanted a drink and ordered some glasses, but they were incredibly dirty, as if they hadn't been washed at all (luckily, I hadn't had a drink yet). A few years ago, I visited Hong Kong and stayed at Cordis for the first time, absolutely loving it. This time around, there was no question, I chose Cordis again. It's in a prime Mong Kok location, super convenient for transportation and shopping. The hotel lobby connects directly to Langham Place, and just outside, you'll find SaSa, Mannings, DONKI, and Matsukiyo. Famous local eateries like Fei Jie and 18 Seats Doggy Noodles are also within a 10-minute walk. Langham Place's basement connects to the MTR Tsuen Wan Line, offering direct access to Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Central without any transfers.
The hotel has been open for about ten years or so, and it's generally well-maintained, though of course, it can't compare to a brand new hotel – that's a matter of personal preference. A pleasant surprise this time was finding ice machines in the hallway on our floor. The room facilities are quite comprehensive, though having to stand in the bathtub for a shower is a minor drawback. The bedding is very comfortable, especially the pillows; I slept incredibly well. The front desk staff are all very nice, communicating in Mandarin, offering cold towels, and proactively greeting guests. However, the ground floor staff didn't offer to help with luggage proactively, which was a slight oversight. I stayed at the Royal Plaza Hotel throughout my self-guided trip to Hong Kong, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. I simply must write a detailed review.
The room was cleaned daily by dedicated staff, with impeccable hygiene control. The entire room was spotless, clean, and comfortable. The butler service was highly responsive and efficient; when I needed cutlery, it was delivered to the room instantly, which was very thoughtful. Every evening, I like to relax with a bath. The bathtub was clean and odorless. After a tiring day of travel, a hot bath washed away all the fatigue. Downstairs, there's direct access to Mui Wah Bing Tang, offering authentic Hong Kong-style food readily available and delicious, making dining out extremely convenient.
What surprised me most was the location: the hotel is seamlessly connected to Grand Century Place, and Mong Kok East Station is right outside. Taking the MTR to major popular spots like Ocean Park, Disneyland, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Causeway Bay was a breeze, with no need to worry about transportation. In Hong Kong, where space is at a premium, the rooms are spacious and wide, providing maximum comfort, suitable for both family trips and solo travelers.
Two small, heartwarming suggestions for the hotel's improvement:
Currently, the cutlery and bowls provided are a bit small. It was slightly inconvenient when I occasionally cooked Samyang Buldak noodles at night. If larger instant noodle bowls could be added, it would better cater to the needs of young guests. Also, if a stainless steel caddy could be installed on the bathtub, allowing for a glass of wine, aromatherapy, or a book while bathing, the ambiance and experience would be even better.

Service: When booking this hotel, the price for a room varied depending on the number of people. I suggest paying attention to this. I made a mistake and wanted to cancel and rebook, but the hotel's reservations department wouldn't allow cancellations. I ended up paying about 100 HKD more per room. I figured it wasn't worth ruining the trip's mood. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk attendant upgraded our room type, I think. Our family of two adults and two children booked two king rooms, which were quite spacious. If it had been twin beds, I guess it would still have been okay for a family of four? I'm not sure.

Sophia at the front desk kindly provided a North Point tourist map, which included attractions and food recommendations. With the coupons, we could redeem free food at designated merchants – a novel North Point experience that my sister didn't get to enjoy during her previous stay. On the morning of our check-out, we went swimming, but initially couldn't find the pool because we went in the wrong direction. We asked a cleaning auntie on the 16th floor, who very enthusiastically helped us, and we then realized the pool was in the East Wing across the way.🤣 While passing through the lobby, we noticed two different elevators going in different directions. James Yun helped us by guiding us to our destination. We ended up having a wonderful time swimming and playing in the pool. When we returned from swimming, we found out the pool had been temporarily closed due to a thunderstorm warning. We were so lucky! If we had gone a little later, we wouldn't have been able to swim! The main entrance is right by Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station Exit L3, and Exit F is just a minute's walk away. The Peninsula Hotel is directly opposite the main entrance. Turning right leads to numerous dining options, while a three-to-five-minute walk to the left takes you to the Avenue of Stars (Victoria Harbour Goddess statue), K11, and Harbour City, making shopping very convenient. Of course, the hotel's decor is a bit dated, and the room types can't compare to those on the mainland, with smaller room sizes. Great value for money. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-soundproofed, so I slept very well during my stay.
The location is excellent. You can easily walk to the hotel from West Kowloon Station with your luggage, but make sure to check the route beforehand. Basically, exit at F, follow the signs towards Austin Road, and the check-in is in the lobby of the Scout Centre building. If you follow the route correctly, it's about a 15-minute walk, mostly through underground passages, so you're out of the sun.
The hotel is next to Kowloon Park, and diagonally opposite there's a 7-Eleven. To the left of the 7-Eleven, downstairs, is a more affordable Wellcome supermarket, where you can find fruits, drinks, and daily necessities.
It's convenient to get to many places from here. Both the city view and the sea view are quite nice, and the morning sky with the city view is beautiful.

We were a group of four and booked two rooms for three nights. The hotel assigned us rooms 2409 and 2413. Honestly, the hotel's location is great, very close to the subway station, which makes getting around super convenient. However, room 2413 was never cleaned and was incredibly noisy. We could hear singing, conversations, and even doors opening and closing next door. It was a really poor experience. Picture three shows room 2409, which was fine and cleaned daily. The location is excellent! The airport bus goes directly to the hotel, and there are many restaurants nearby. It's just a 2-minute walk to Prince Edward MTR station, making it convenient to get to Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei by foot, MTR, or bus.
However, the hotel facilities are very old. The carpet looks like it's seen better days, probably hasn't been cleaned in over a decade.
The hotel hosts a lot of tour groups, and the soundproofing in the rooms is poor. They do provide free earplugs, so if you're sensitive to noise, you might want to look elsewhere.

The rest of the amenities were fine, and the soundproofing did its best, but I could still hear planes taking off and landing from my room. Overall, the value for money was quite poor. The front desk charged me for an upgrade, so no complimentary upgrade there, but they aren't obligated to offer one anyway. Everything else was pretty good. The power outlets were at the foot of the bed, and I initially thought there was only one, but then I found a whole strip on the desk, hidden behind a panel. Remember to bring your own universal adapter. The air conditioning was a bit noisy. Also, bring your own toothbrush; I didn't see any provided. I'm sure the front desk would supply one if asked, but they were quite busy (though their service was excellent and very friendly), and since I had my own, I didn't bother asking about toothpaste and toothbrushes. The hairdryer looked unassuming but dried my hair surprisingly fast. The location is super close to a bus stop, and there's a 7-Eleven downstairs. Transportation: The hotel is about 20 meters from Exits P1 and P2 of Tsim Sha Tsui East Station, making subway travel very convenient.
Service: The service in the lobby, guest rooms, restaurant, and front desk was all excellent – professional and efficient. A special shout-out to May Ling, the housekeeper on the 14th floor. Her warm smile made her feel like a friendly neighbor. She brought fruit, turned down the bed, and always greeted me enthusiastically. I looked forward to bumping into her every day of my stay.
Charging: The room was equipped with a converter, charging ports, and charging cables, which showed great attention to detail. I had forgotten my headphone charging cable this time and was worried if my headphones would last for three days on the trip, but all that anxiety vanished once I entered the room.
Shower: The water pressure in the shower was incredibly strong, making for a refreshing shower. This was a pleasant surprise for a hotel with 45 years of history.
Breakfast: Very rich and varied, with many types of meat. The staff in all departments were very proactive, and the dishes were delicious. There were Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Southeast Asian options, so I'd give it full marks.

Amenities like toiletries, TWG tea sets, and Nespresso coffee machines were thoughtfully provided. Service was consistently excellent throughout my stay. The concierge and butler were friendly, professional, and promptly responded to any requests. Breakfast offered both buffet and à la carte options, with high-quality Hong Kong-style Nissin Demae Itcho, desserts, and fresh fruits. The high-altitude infinity pool directly overlooks the sea; it was quiet and uncrowded, making for a perfectly relaxing swim. Direct access to K11 Musea downstairs made shopping and getting around incredibly convenient.
The only minor flaw was the quality of the bathrobes in the room. The fabric felt rather thin, lacking the softness and plushness found in bathrobes at other luxury hotels in the same category. This was a stark contrast to the otherwise exquisite and luxurious amenities in the room. The experience would be even more perfect if the bathrobe material were upgraded.

The only downside was that the front desk phone was practically impossible to reach; you had to go downstairs yourself to ask anything. Third, regarding transportation, there's an airport shuttle right on the G floor, and downstairs there's a supermarket and restaurants, all very convenient. Getting to the MTR station is easy; you just tap your Octopus card downstairs, and you get a HK$2 discount daily when going to Tai Wo Hau by MTR. The hotel's shuttle service to Tsim Sha Tsui has also been adjusted. Overall, it's still a good value-for-money hotel. I used this hotel for a transit layover in Hong Kong. There's a shuttle bus to the hotel every 30 minutes or so from Shuttle Bus Stop #9 at Terminal 2. The ride takes about 5 minutes.
The hotel is stylish, and my room only had a shower, no bathtub. Toiletries like toothbrushes and shampoo are provided. There's a pool on the 3rd floor, and on the 12th floor, there are stairs leading to the rooftop. The rooftop feels like a small gym or park, and there's even some grass that looks like you could play putting golf on it. However, it's too hot in the summer for any real training up there.
It's convenient for its proximity to the airport, but there are no convenience stores or other shops nearby. Inside the hotel, there's only a vending machine, as shown in the picture.FromPLN 254

Hong Kong hotels are known for being expensive and small, so for this location and price, it's actually quite a good deal, offering decent value for money. The only downside was the cleanliness; I had to clean up a bit on the first day, especially the toilet which had a lot of stains. It might be a new regulation in Hong Kong not to provide disposable toiletries, as I saw a notice when booking, so we brought our own toothbrushes and toothpaste.
The location is between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, though it wasn't for our specific destinations. On Hong Kong Island, we usually head to Hennessy Road to catch the tram, which can take you to Central, Sheung Wan, and Sai Wan. For Kowloon, the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay MTR stations are nearby. You can also walk ten to fifteen minutes to take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. For the airport or the Hong Kong Port of the HZMB, the A11 bus stop is a ten-minute walk away. Coming from the airport or HZMB Hong Kong Port, the A11 stops on Hennessy Road at D'Aguilar Street, and it's a five-minute walk to the hotel. SOGO, Times Square, Hang Lung, and several other malls are all within a ten-minute walk, and there are plenty of food options nearby. Overall, it's quite convenient.FromPLN 161
