The room was clean and tidy, and although the facilities were a bit old, everything worked perfectly. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool, spa, and other amenities, and the breakfast spread was quite extensive, though it did get a bit crowded in the mornings.

The hotel's location is excellent, and the lobby and breakfast area are nice. The elevators have been renovated, but surprisingly, the renovation is quite exposed, which makes it feel unsafe. The room was not clean; the floor was warped, and the room looked very old. The bed felt like sleeping on a hard wooden board with springs moving around. The duvet cover had no insert, perhaps because it's summer. The bathroom was incomplete; the toilet was wobbly, and there wasn't even a shower cap, which was surprising. If you're choosing this place purely for the location, it's acceptable. I didn't take many photos because I wasn't very impressed.

My stay at the Wyndham hotel was decent overall. The location was super convenient, making it easy to grab a bite or catch a taxi. The room itself was a bit small and felt cramped. The hotel facilities were noticeably old, with outdated furniture and appliances that weren't particularly well-maintained. However, there were some definite highlights. The breakfast spread was incredibly varied and tasty – I left feeling very satisfied. Plus, the hotel had a gym with all the basic equipment, which was great for a quick workout to unwind. Overall, its strengths are the excellent location, the wide breakfast selection, and the gym. But if you're bothered by small rooms and old facilities, you might want to consider other options.

Novotel Almaty City Centre Hotel. Set in the heart of Almaty City, a few hundred feet from the iconic Soviet era Khazakstan Hotel and 20 to 30 minutes from Almaty Airport, this Novotel is modern, clean and with all the usual, essential amenities. Only one main downside is the room aircon is set by the hotel during winter months to run warm. It cannot be adjusted in the room so it became too hot and stuffy. We had to call an engineer who just unlocked the window security lock and we had to have the window wide open through the night allowing all the street noise below to echo into the room. A pleasant stay for a few nights if travelling onwards, but a bit pricey at £170.00 pounds sterling a night for two people!

Our stay at Ritz-Carlton Almaty was exceptional, in fact our fav part of the city as tourists. The best part was the warm service from the staff, in particular thanks to Yekaterina (Kate), Malika, and concierge lady. Kate was welcoming and informative upon check in. Guest service staff Malika gave us attentive care throughout our stay and accommodated our preferences, which truly enhanced our experience in the country. Concierge lady gave us comprehensive advice on where to visit. The view from both our room and the Sky Lounge was unparalleled. Snow-capped mountains framed the landscape, offering a mesmerizing backdrop that undoubtedly ranks among the best in Almaty. Will definitely come back here if we’re back in the city.

The hotel is in a good location, room is clean abit smaller than when i stayed in holiday inn express but still able to put 2 luggages in the room. The breakfast spread is very good. Thumbs up. Plenty of food to keep you full. The dining area is abit small but there is still enough tables to serve at least 30 people. I think others who complaint about this probbaly came during summer or peak season. I was in in Oct 2025, it was only half full when i went for breakfast (i stayed for 2 nights). Breakfast is served 7am to 10am. Just be smart about the timing if you feel the hotel is full. Also i took picture of the aircond because someone else also mentioned, the aircond light is bright which is true. And we could not switch it off since it was not the original remote controller. We both use eye mask, hence it was ok.

I was a little skeptical at first, thinking it would be old. In the end, I booked it because of the location. Overall, I am satisfied. Generally, airline crews will choose hotels for their stay, so they won't be too bad. It's not far from the cable car station, about a 20-minute walk. It's also not far from the Cathedral, a 15-18-minute walk. I am a bit picky. The facilities are acceptable and clean. The room is quite satisfactory. The breakfast buffet is average.

Everything was great until the day we checked out. Our flight was at night, so I asked to extend our room until 6 PM. However, since there were no available rooms, they declined. 'No big deal,' I naively thought, assuming I could relax with my child by the pool or in the play area. In the end, they wouldn't let us into the spa zone because our room had already been handed over. We went to the playroom, but there was a child there with what looked like symptoms of rotavirus, and for some reason, the doctor was called to the playroom instead of their room. The child was crying, taking medication, and continued to stay in the playroom. When I asked why, they said he just had a stomach ache that morning. We left there. Now we're just wandering around the hotel grounds like strays.

The hotel has parking, and public transportation nearby is convenient. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Cathedral of the Assumption, and 1.1 km from the Grand Bazaar. The Wi-Fi was strong, and the breakfast was surprisingly plentiful, even including cherries, and quite suitable for Asian tastes. The yogurt was delicious. The only downside was that the hot water was essentially unusable during peak hours, just cold water. Overall, it was still a very good stay.

This hotel is very business-oriented and compact. It's not too far from the airport, about a 30-minute drive. The room design is also good, with everything you need, though the bed was really soft, almost feeling like it sagged. The breakfast was decent; for this class of hotel, it offered a good variety of nutrients, with local and Western options. The only thing I didn't like was that the hotel corridors had a bit of a strong smell and weren't very well-ventilated. It felt like the smell of new decor was a bit heavy, but since the room windows could be opened, it was manageable.

Getting here by taxi from the city center was super convenient. I stayed for two nights. On the first day, I saw a glimpse of a 'golden mountain' at the top, and on the second day, there was heavy snow – the scenery was absolutely stunning! There's a shuttle bus service for getting up and down the mountain after check-in. If you're short on time and miss the shuttle, it's also easy to just grab a taxi. The hotel description was a bit sparse. The minibar is complimentary and replenished daily. The sauna was also great. Someone will help with your luggage, but it's good to mention it beforehand. You'll need to download another chat app (WhatsApp, I assume) in advance, as most requests are handled there, and responses are pretty quick. The views are beautiful and well worth it. Plus, the famous Top 50 restaurant is right next door. Breakfast is delivered to the room, but it was a bit monotonous.

The hotel was newly renovated and had only been open for a month or so. There was a strong smell of formaldehyde and other chemicals. My nose became very itchy after just a short time in the room, and I even felt dizzy afterwards. The hotel wouldn't allow refunds, only offering a slightly larger room, but the smell was still very strong, even with the windows open for ventilation. If it weren't for the late check-in and the somewhat remote location—I wouldn't have dared to take a taxi alone at night—I would have definitely cancelled the reservation during the day. Despite being a 5-star hotel, the toiletries were cheap, made in Yangzhou, and there was no advertised spa. Staying for less than 8 hours and paying nearly 1400 yuan for the room was completely overpriced.

The hotel looks a bit old, and the linen in the room has been used for a long time, but it is clean. Several service staff can speak English, and there is no problem with basic communication. The breakfast is good, rich in variety and the waiter updates it quickly. They are all Russian-style breakfasts with bread and eggs. If you want to eat Chinese food, forget it. There are many good restaurants around the hotel, and the Turkish Kebab and Georgian restaurants are very cost-effective. It is an ordinary three-star hotel in China, but a good value for money hotel in Almaty.

The hotel feels quite dated, with a design and atmosphere that clearly reflect an 80s-era style. While some may find it nostalgic, overall it comes across as old-fashioned rather than charming. Inside the room, the amenities and furnishings appear low quality and somewhat cheap, which takes away from the overall comfort and experience. It doesn’t feel like good value compared to more modern options in the same area. Breakfast is another weak point. The selection is limited, and the taste is quite underwhelming. There isn’t much variety, and the quality does not meet expectations. Overall, the hotel might be acceptable for a short stay if location is the priority, but there are definitely better choices available in terms of comfort, quality, and value.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The service was excellent, both at the front desk and during breakfast. Housekeeping was fantastic; they consistently replenished slippers and dental amenities. Since I was traveling alone, they provided two bottles of fresh water daily. A bathrobe was also included. Breakfast offered a good variety, and everything was delicious. They even had national sweets, which was a nice touch. I tried the spa and jacuzzi. Overall, it was okay, but the jacuzzi water was heavily chlorinated, leaving my hands very dry afterward. There was no hand cream in the room, which would have been a great addition. GGuest UserCame to Almaty for the first time during the Qingming Festival for a 'special forces' trip (meaning a fast-paced, action-packed trip). Getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel was very convenient. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and asked if it was my first time visiting, recommending nearby attractions. The room itself wasn't too old, though I personally dislike carpets. The bathroom was large, but the shower floor was a bit slippery, so you need to be careful. It was very quiet at night, and while the bed was small, it was comfortable enough. I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast buffet – it was an unexpected delight!
