Good to have a quick rest in a good hotel before/after the journey (5 min away from the airport). Adv to the foreigners: 1. Don't take the room facing the road.. very noisy during day/night with honking everytime non stop. 2. Try to avoid fresh juice if you know yr stomach can't take it, otherwise you will suffer from poisoning. The rest are acceptable as per the rest of other country's Best Western. Great view towards the airport on the rooftop while enjoying the BBQ dinner. Small gym and a massage center on the top floor. According to European standard this is a lousy 3 star shabby place. If you look around outside in Dhaka it is a paradise. I was in a room without a window. The window was hidden behind a gypsum board. The noise from that blocked window was big. I think just the window behind was broken and you are on the street. It was very dirty. I asked for for another room. The new one was much better and cleaner. Internet is very slow. Connection is dropping from time to time. Breakfast is poor. Leftovers from dinner and some few very basic items. Service in the hotel is questionable. They treat white people as an infinite source of money. For a car transfer on same location in two different shifts with 2 different guys on reception I was asked to pay 500 and 1000 BDT. And none felt guilty for cheating us. The quality of the building is very poor- no sound insulation, air conditioning is working on a cold mode but you cannot control the temperature. Towels are smelling on mould. Elevator is smelly. From the hotel they arranged a city tour. Arrange is exaggerated. Just collected some money. The guy with the car was not speaking English and asked me for an address in the beginning of the “city tour”. Happily he called his boss who speaks English and we agreed on some kind of city tour. The only thing properly done was a free of charge transfer from the hotel to the airport. I think it was mainly because this shift was with the best man on the reception-he really was competent and reliable.From$52

On my way back from Bangladesh I stayed in the Raintree hotel Dhaka.,,, I booked this hotel via WhatsApp.. booking was taken very professionally by this young lady shuti I think that’s the name… staff very polite looked very professional spoke good English…. The rooms were very clean well designed the swimming pool on the rooftop was excellent we even had the food from the restaurant as room service it was good… The only issue that we had the two days we stayed was the air-conditioning wasn’t working very well we had them come up and fix it five or six times.. as you can imagine Bangladesh is a very hot country 32 to 35°.. without air-conditioning you’re in trouble… overall the stay was very comfortable and I would like to thank the young lady who communicated with me well done you…. 10 out of 10 for service…From$76

Amari has a mixed review and depends on the room you get.
First, the good:
Security is excellent. You feel safe.
You’re in gulshan. Amenities nearby.
Hot water pressure is good.
Courteous staff.
Good bar - but dusty sofa due to outdoor.
The bad
The road into amari is frequently jammed. A short turn in to the one way street leading to amari can take 5-10 mins.
There is an odd smell in the common areas. Don’t know if it’s musty smell or sewage leak.
Pick better rooms. The double bed version isn’t as comfortable as the king bed version with larger sofa set.
Shower leaks out to common area due to old sealing of shower room. Floods and wets the outside.
Shower head needs repair. Leaky
Tv damage. It had line streaks on the tv. Poor maintenance.
Floor has a dusty feeling.
Overall I won’t stay again. From$155

Het hoogtepunt van ons verblijf was toen de ATM apparaat in het hotel niet werkte en er geen geld gepind kon worden. De oplossing was simpel, achterop de motor van de bewaker naar de dichtsbijzijnde ATM ! Een fantastische ervaring op zich!Volgende keer gaan we zeker weer hier verblijven !!!From$87

The Hotel Shuktara markets itself as a luxury business budget hotel, which is a very apt description. While applying for my visa on arrival, the officials insisted on keeping my printed hotel reservation, so make sure to print it twice! Even without the hardcopy, I had no problem checking in, and was warmly received. My room was modern & looked nice, with funky blue lights. It featured a sitting area, a minibar and sufficient closet space. The bathroom was small, but functional. The biggest drawback was the WiFi, which didn't work most of the time. Even when it did work, it was excruciatingly slow and basically unusable. I quickly resorted to buying a local SIM card. Even without WiFi, the Hotel Skuktara offers great value for money.From$38

Wow, it was amazing. All the dishes are mouthwatering. The hostages were so caring. Each & every dish are so tasty. We have had dinners at most of the restaurant of Dhaka city. We tasted all the 5 stars in Dhaka city. But fooding and all over management of Le Meridian is excellent, amazing beyond of all expectations. Again we will visit Le Meridian In Shha Allah. The breakfast is ordinary and extra beds are available. Bangladesh is not suitable for tourism. The hotel is well located. Bangladesh does not need to consider parking because you cannot drive by yourself. The hotel is very cost-effective. Another 10 minutes walk from the hotel, there is an authentic Chinese restaurant named New Dragon. The taste is basically the same as the domestic one. This hotel was booked last minute by me, we had to stay near the airport so we can leave for London the next day. The hotel offers a airport transfer service which is amazing, no need to worry about getting a transfer or getting ripped off at the airport. Since we had many luggage with us, they gave us x2 huge cars which I was really happy about. Hotel is really close to the airport so you'll never miss your flight. The hotel decor is really nice and clean. The view form the top floors are amazing. The breakfast was great with many options. There are good food places to eat just down the road. The staff were amazing and very helpful. I will definitely be back and send my family too again. Thank you for the memories. From$67

I needed a hotel before our morning flight and found prices on the internet and hoping for a better rate, I called the hotel directly and the manager said the hotel was fuly booked and the rooms I am seeing on the internet were not available and that he would give alternative rooms. The 2 rooms he offered, he said were better and even said that he would accomodate ur third guest in one of the rooms. The suite that was given was average but clearly dilapidated and as for the double room we were given - that was a hell hole! We had to share with our baby and the room was infested with mosquitos and the noise from the traffic was constant and the the windows did not seem to keep the noise out. When we wne up for breakfast we quickly realised that the hotel was not full at all as there was only one other person in the restuarant. In addition, I got ripped off by the hotel as they charged me equivalent of £93 for both of the rooms which was in excess of advertisd prices on the internet. Avoid hotel at all costs and book via internet to get best price.From$28

Stayed with family after an event at Golden Goose Restaurant. Was upgraded to the Presidential Suite, definitely being a corporate client paid off. Lets begin with the event i hosted at the restaurant. It was Arabian nights and most of the items were great. Rib-Eye steak, italian style fish (bhetki) are to point out. My compliments to the live station chef, the shawarma was excellent. The Kabsa was unusually dry, need to improve. The staff went of their way to make the guests satisfied. Now the suite room. it was an excellent and well decorated set up and perfect for a small family stay. Two bedrooms one living and one dinning and kitchenet. Two bathrooms with bathtubs and shower enclosure alongside. Came with three TVs and three Refrigerators. Well decorated and tastefully done as well. The morning views was excellent overseeing the gulshan-banani lake and connecting bridge. only Cons that can be mentioned that the master bedroom could use a door and TVS could be upgraded to smart ones. Well if you have dongle to connect its not a problem. The staff were all well trained, speaks english and service was A1. Made the stay a very memorable one for a short in-city vacation. The rooftop comes with swimming pool, sauna and steam room which we used and swam. Hotel is situated is upscale Gulshan diplomatic area and close to most popular restaurants and shops in the area. Service staff is worth mentioning again. . Ran in the General Manager, Mr. Ankur at the elevator he too was hospitable. Special thanks to Mr. Mahmudul Shuvo for the upgrade and the effort he took to make the stay a superb one.From$94

The room was a bit small, after a free upgrade, we changed to a bigger room. The service staff in the lobby are very enthusiastic.
