Located one unit away from the fishing pier and grilling/picnic area of Bald Mountain Lake, you can swim or fish from shore. Fairway Holes 1, 9, and 18 are across from the front porch, with a towering view of the Bald Mountain ridge just beyond that. Majestic mountains continue around back, rising above the tranquil lake to give you the “instant peace” feeling many of us crave. This two-bedroom, two-bath condo includes new pillowtop Serta mattresses with remote controlled head and feet adjustments. The lakeside bedroom suite features a King bed, desk (that can be adjusted for standing or sit-down use), three dressers and extra organization in the closet. The 50” flat screen tv is on an adjustable wall mount. A neutral color palette, throwback pendants, and retro-toned pictures of North Carolina help to make the primary haven an easy transition into and out of the day. Watch the fog rise above the lake with a cup of coffee in the morning or unwind with a glass of wine in the evening on the balcony’s “table for two.” The second bedroom suite features a view of Bald Mountain, an adjustable queen bed with woven leather headboard, and a log-home style bunk bed with two twin mattresses. If you’re not out golfing on one of the two championship courses, you can enjoy tennis, pickleball, basketball, life-size chess and checkers, corn hole games, a mini-golf course (mini-golf has a small extra fee), kids’ playground and the beach. To note: Post-hurricane restoration is complete on Lake Lure, and the 720-acre Masterpiece (named by National Geographic as one of the Top 10 most beautiful man-made lakes in the world) is set to be at "full pond depth" and open once again in May 2026 for boat, kayak and paddle board rental to explore the 27 miles of coastline. The beach/kids' play park/marina at Rumbling Bald is within walking distance, and there is another beach/park/marina open to the public in the town of Lake Lure. 4th of July fireworks at Rumbling Bald are spectacular, and the views from Legends on the Lake restaurant are always breathtaking. Rumbling Bald boasts 40 miles of hiking trails (a few still may be undergoing tree removal post-hurricane). Bald Mountain Lake (behind the condo) was home to the kayak and paddle board rentals in the summer of 2025- not sure if those will be available again in 2026 or if they will move back to the main beach. Swimming on Bald Mt Lake is a favorite of many, and no fishing license is required for catch and release on Bald Mt Lake. Chimney Rock State Park is once again open, and several restaurants and shops are once again restored for business- an exciting recovery post-Helene! Nearby places to visit include Asheville, which is a pleasant mountain drive of about 50 minutes. (Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures opens at Biltmore’s Amherst at Deerpark is currently on display.) Blowing Rock, Little Switzerland, Linville Falls, Tryon Equestrian Center, Crabtree Falls, Black Mountain and many Blue Ridge Parkway stops are nice day trips. Legends on the Lake Restaurant/Bar and the Bear Paw Café/Starbucks are located on the Rumbling Bald campus (located about a ½ mile walk from the unit- around the fairway and down picturesque wooden bridges on Mountains Blvd). Hours of operation vary by season and can be found on the Rumbling Bald website. Golf carts are available for rent during your stay as well. Other restaurants are within 5-10 or 20+ minutes, depending on what catches your fancy that day. Easiest airports to travel to and from your vacay would be Asheville (about 50 mins), Charlotte (less than 2 hours), or Greenville, SC (just over an hour). Two parking spaces are available for the unit with additional unmarked parking spaces across from those. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash can be found in each shower. First morning’s coffee is on us, and we offer a paper towel roll, garbage bags, and dishwashing soap/detergent for your convenience as well as an extra roll of TP in each bathroom to help get you started on a great getaway in the Blue Ridge. Spacious home in Rumbling Bald/Apple Valley with access to all amenities (Sandy Beach on Lake Lure, Indoor and Outdoor Pool, Lazy River, Putt-Putt Golf, Tennis Courts, Basketball Court, Pickleball Courts, Exercise Facility, (2) Pro Golf Courses, and Pro Shop & Restaurants. The upper level offers stepless entry, a living room, seated dining, a king bedroom with a bathroom that has a stepless shower. An adjoining queen bedroom, and an ensuite king bedroom all on the main level. There is a comfortable deck off of the main level with a gas grill and plenty of seating for visiting. We also have a rollable outdoor TV (for those sports fans and such). Enjoy overlooking the private wooded area off the deck and spot some wildlife like deer and turkeys. Downstairs are 2 additional bedrooms, (1) queen and (1) 2 twin beds. There is also a playroom with a twin bed and a single twin bunk bed. This house features a large recreation room on the lower level with an 82” TV, arcade basketball, air hockey, Pac-Man and Simpsons video games. There is also corn hole outside of the lower level and a firepit area. This beautiful resort home has 6 bedrooms, 3 baths, and can sleep 10 comfortably (occupancy is up to 14). Its open floor plan and 2 levels make it convenient for a group and equally nice for families traveling together. There are lots of trees, and nature abounds with this lovely property. You'll find plenty of outside deck and patio spaces to enjoy the outdoors. Please Note *** There are 8 guests passes for the Rumbling Bald amenities. There are also plenty of fun things to do with family and friends at the house, including outdoor fire pit, hot tub, pool & foosball tables, video games, corn hole boards, etc. This luxury home, built in 2007, has been completely updated in 2017 with additional improvements in 2020, new hardwood flooring, fresh paint, electric car charger, wood/tile floors, newly added in-suite bathrooms, updated kitchen with new appliances, granite countertops and all new furniture. Outdoor environment is exquisite, including new patio furniture, 6 person hot tub, large fire pit and outdoor shower.The inside of the home is very spacious, main level has fully stocked kitchen with magnificent view of lake & mountains, including Chimney Rock. Large table seats 8 with additional seating in the bar and at kitchen counter. Bar/sunroom area has seating for 7 with a high def flat screen TV for game days. Master suite has large bathroom with soaking tub, double vanity and beautiful tile shower, king size bed and daybed, perfect for families with little ones. Top floor is a 2 bedroom suite with in-suite bathrooms and privacy door at hallway access point, loft with spectacular Mountain View and sleeper sofa for additional guests. Corn Hole boards also on site for your use. Spacious main level deck has amazing views of Lake Lure and the mountains, including Chimney Rock. Community has private dock/boat slips with lake access, just drive or walk around 2 blocks to enjoy the waters of Lake Lure. Parking is available at the pier for your trailer along with wet slips (boat launch not available at this pier). Boat rentals can be delivered to our pier and kept at the neighborhood pier to use and store during your stay, on a first come first serve basis. The home is large enough for the big family vacation and cozy enough for the 3 or 4 couple weekend. All three levels are setup for privacy and comfort while enjoying your family vacation.Parking is no problem! Large driveway connects to oversize 2 car garage with electric car charger. The construction at our lakefront to remove sediment from the lake from Hurricane Helene has finished and the lake is deeper than it has been in many years! We are very grateful for the work the Corps of Engineers and their subcontractors have done. The lake is now full pond! Romantic cabin overlooking one of our private ponds. We are near Chimney Rock, Asheville and The Biltmore House. We are only 1/4 mile from the site where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. We are only 18 miles from the new Tryon International Equestrian Resort. Our cozy one bedroom log cabin is built for couples and has a hot tub. You can also access a large covered porch with its own private bar.While mountain lakes are known for lots of steps, this property is easily accessible with just 8 steps from parking to the front door or a side yard ramp as well. From the house there are multiple ways to access the lake from the lower level as well as the upper level. We hope you are ready for some water activities on your vacation. The house comes with a 22 ft. pontoon boat, 2 standup paddleboards, and a slew of floating chairs and aqua toys. While at the waters edge this house has what Lake Lure is known for the classic jump off boat house and this one will not disappoint with its 12 foot decent into the water. After enjoying the lakes amenities there is a nice hot/cold outdoor shower to rinse off and recap the days adventures! We do require that guests present a pontoon boat security deposit upon arrival for the protection of the homeowners as well as boaters test for Town of Lake Lure. This will be in a check form and shredded after pontoon boat check in if there is no problems. At this time, we will be requiring all future guests upon arrival to provide a security deposit in a check form for $500.00 (to Lake Dog Properties) this check will not be cashed unless there is mechanical damage to the pontoon boat, which we will properly inspect after each guest departure. If at that time there is no issue we will properly dispose of the check. We want our guests to be aware that with Lures Edge Retreat, we are not responsible for any refund due to the fact that the boat is not functioning or unusable during your visit, as we provide the boat as a courtesy.
