We arrived at the hotel at 10.20am but couldn't check in till 3pm. However the staff were friendly ,.We booked a studio room which was on the eighth floor , The balcony didnt get any sunshine during the day and the mountain view would have been nice if the balcony wall wasnt so highly built , You have to walk up a very steep hill to enter the hotel reception although we found out a day later that you can gain entry though the garden security gate with your room key card , walk though the ground floor garage area where you will find lifts directly to reception or your room ( saves knackering yourself out walkin up the hill)... The hotel does have it's good points , Our towels were changed every day and theyalways left us plenty of toilet rolls, bins emptied and cleaned to a good standard , Bar prices were probably the most reasonable priced ones I've ever come across and the lovely beach was only across the other side of the road I can honestly say that I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it for a cheap getaway , We found a really decent bar down the road called Cocos that did some really nice meals with Man sized portions, The main nightlife is a long walk away . But all the major attractions arnt that far away so the hotel sempt an ideal place for exploring,. The express shopping trip to Gibraltar is a must and at only €15 per person is awesome value for money ( booked at Rubens excursions and Money Exchange).I'd also recommend a boat trip dolphin spotting on a Catamaran from Belmadena marina ! €10 , The Butterfly Park , Buddist Temple and the Castle built as a memorial to Christiphor Columbus are also worth a visit . Make the most of public transport wether bus or train , They are cheap and regular , The train to Feungirola costs just over €2 and Belmadena station is set in a lovely part of town with good shopping, bars and cafes. So Yeah the Vista Mar has the odd fault but good value for money and definitely a good base for exploring the Costa Del Sol

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of February. The one bed unit we were in faced the sea which was wonderful. Although there were quite a few other people around the resort it was pleasantly quiet. The only noise we heard day or night was the waves breaking on the sea defenses close by. The unit was compact and the bedroom only divided off from the living/diniing area with louvre doors so if one of us wanted to stay up and watch TV it was difficult for the other to settle. There was an excellent range of TV programmes available. The shower controls needed maintenance and this was done as soon as we mentioned it. Cleanliness everywhere was excellent. There was plenty to do in the area. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus was good value for money for 48 hours and the local buses just outside the resort easy to use. Also there were good supermarkets nearby and a well-stocked supermarket on site.

We went to this hotel in March, the location is ideal just across the road from the beach. On our first morning we walked into the marina which was full of lovely restaurants, bars, shops and of course boats. Unfortunately the next day Spain was on lockdown due to the coronavirus so we spent the rest of our holiday in the hotel. How fortunate we were that this was our hotel! I have never stayed in a cleaner environment, everything was spotless and being constantly cleaned. The pool area was lovely, but closed off as was the front terrace. However the sky roof terrace was open, so allowed some outside space. The room we were in was smallish but perfectly functional with a modern bathroom. There were several English channels on the tv. The food was very good, plenty of choice even during our last days when there were only 28 of us left at the hotel! The staff were exceptional. They could not do enough for you and the management gave free drinks with dinner because of the lockdown. Although the staff must have been concerned about the virus and their jobs they were friendly and cheerful the whole time. We wish them all well and hope they stay safe and hope to return one day and actually see Benelmadena!

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights absolutely perfect in every way my husband and my 3 children stayed in a 2 bed apartment with a unbelievable view of the beach. Breakfast was all that you needed to start your day with and the staff at breakfast were absolutely priceless Maria was a staff member that we were greeted with every morning who catetered to all our needs my children adored her and the chefs were great too. Amazing location walking distance from the beach and bus stop right outside the hotel we did dinner at the hotel on the first night which was a buffet something for everyone so no complaints there. Loads of restaurants of walking distance max 15min walk which we were perfectly fine with but of course buses run every 5-10min if your not much of a walker. Would definitely go back and absolutely recommend.

Stayed at MS Alay twice with a couple of my friends and both times, it was great. Would definitely recommend. Great location with plenty of bars and restaurants. Beach and marina are in walking distance. The Room: Both times we stayed there, we booked a one bed. The first time we were there, four of us shared the apartment, two in the bedroom, one on a sofa bed and one on a fold up bed. It might sound a little squishy but the apartment is quite roomy and the four of us had no problem living there for the two weeks. Both apartments we stayed in were nice and bright with a lovely little balcony over-looking the pool. The rooms are nice and clean, cleaners come in every few days to clean and change the beds. Air conditioning is in the bedroom and main room, it works very well and controllable from a little keypad on the wall. There isn’t wifi in the rooms but there is in the rec room but to be honest we didn’t really notice not having it in the room and this is coming from four people in their 20s. The kitchen has everything you need, hob, kettle, utensils, microwave, fridge but not an oven, however, it’s not that necessary on holidays. There isn’t a washing machine but there is a washing room in the apartment building that you can use if you need. The Apartment Complex: The pool is stunning, such a lovely big pool and plenty of sunbeds with a lovely pool café that has the usual foods and drinks you find at any beach café. There’s also a kid’s pool. The apartment building/complex is great, the staff are very helpful. There’re two lifts and a rec room with a pool table, wifi etc. and a luggage weight check machine too which is handy. Location: The location of the apartment is perfect, walking distance to everything. Up the street, there is a bar/club square which is great for a night out. There’s also plenty of restaurants and a bus stop which will bring you to most if not all of the attractions. Down the street is the marina and beach/promenade, the marina is delightful with loads of shops and restaurants. The beach is lovely with sunbeds and umbrellas available and those boats you can rent with the slides. The promenade is a fab with a couple shops and cafes, it’s also a stunning evening walk.

We had stayed in room 1004, which was on the 10th floor of 12 floors available. The top two I believe were all 2 bedroom apartments. We had been offered a 5th floor room and the 10th floor as I requested a high floor with sea view. Which we did get and also a nice view over the city plus the mountains. We did have to pay an additional €65 fee for the room but was 100% worth it! Our room on entering was nice and bright and very clean! Everything was as good as it seemed on the photos which it usually isn’t from past stays at hotels etc. On the right from entering there was the kitchen which was nice with a microwave oven, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Enough plates and cutlery, there was a little box that had washing things in it like (liquid for the plates, a little cloth and dishwasher tablet) the washing machine pod you had to buy from downstairs for €1 which we did as there wasn’t enough washing to on our stay to have to buy and larger amount of things which you can just outside the apartments on the right hand side you can get a lot of things at. The toilet on the left , was very nice and clean , large sink and area to put your things on left and right and shelves underneath to store toiletries you need, we got supplied with two rolls of tissue and they get stocked up again every 4 days they said so if you need anymore you need to buy yourself which is only a couple euros so it’s not an issue. The shower was a bath shower but was quite good, although sometimes water got cold. Walking onward from the toilet there is a little cuppord with a brush for the floor & mop & iron board. Then the room on the left which was an alright size, nice and clean, a cupboard with a few hangers, an iron which was handy extra pillows. Duvets for your bed up top which are thin ones but you get given 3 (on my stay) un sure if it’s the same every stay. And a safe but you need to pay for that apparently. There is two bed side tables with drawers and you get a very nice view even when laying in bed. ( I was 10th floor). The living area Is spacious enough; with a table, sofa which you can turn into a sofa bed, a chair, and a tv (which was meant to have international channels also; but didn’t, mostly had music on when getting ready) a dining table which was handy to sit and eat at comfortably if you weren’t eating out. The balcony was very spacious , and had an amazing view! Two chairs and a table, and a rack that you pull off the wall you can hang washed clothes on etc. The overall stay for me was very nice, comfortable, homely, little things like would have been good to have washing up powder there, some coffee etc and other things but didn’t effect stay as it’s not a hotel it’s an apartment so expected, as you need to buy your own supplies. BUT one disappointment was there wasn’t any thick quilts, only thin ones , we had three thank goodness as we had to use them as it got quite cold in bed at night as there was no heating and the air con didn

My partner and I have just returned from a 5 night stay at La Fonda and absolutely loved the hotel and Benalmádena Pueblo! Hotel is beautiful, lots of attention to detail and laid out well. We stayed in room 105 which was perfect for us as right next to the pool. We didn’t have a terrace or balcony but for a short break it really didn’t bother us at all. Lots of places to sit around the hotel if you wanted to get out of your room. Medium sized fridge, free air con and safety deposit box were ideal. The decor in the room was fab and the cleaning staff do a great job, everywhere was spotless. Pool area doesn’t get a lot of sun until midday (October) but you can lie up on the roof terrace until then. Pool and terrace were never overcrowded. Hotel will give you free pool towels if you ask (we didn’t realise this for a few days). We had breakfast included and couldn’t fault that at all. Excellent range on offer to suit any appetite and always stocked up. Fabulous views sitting on the terrace each morning, staff very friendly and attentive. The location of the hotel is just perfect. Right in the centre of the pueblo. 5 minutes walk away to local bus stops. Walked down to Benalmádena costa one morning took 2 hours with 2 drink stop offs. Very uphill on way back, wouldn’t recommend walking back up. Walking distance to Castillo Colomares and Buddhist temple/bitterly park. We had such a wonderful and relaxing trip away and will definitely be back to Hotel La Fonda. Thank you!

The hotel is situated in one of the prettiest streets in Benalmadena Pueblo, close to all amenities, bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc., and within 2 minutes walking distance of the main square, with its typical bars and restaurants serving good food and the traditional tapas. The church,is a short distance further on with spectacular views of the whole coast. The staff at the hotel I found to be very informal and friendly & could advise of where best to go for eating out etc. Just two of the very good eateries I found were La Taperia restaurant serving a good 3-course menu of the day and also bar Parada serving excellent tapas, and El Parador restaurant serving both tapas and main meals - their speciality being pizzas which were extremely tasty. There are various bus routes connected to the pueblo of Benalmadena and whilst there I took a trip on one to visit the beautiful unspoilt mountain village of Mijas. Also there are buses down into the town of Arroyo de la Miel, with many bars, restaurants & shops plus an excellent train service to further afield like Fuengirola & the capital city of Malaga. On my first day at the hotel, it was necessary to check-in at the Hotel La Fonda which is close-by but as there was no-one on reception at all during my stay, I would say that for travellers who don't know the area this may not be easy as a map as to how to get there (although it is only a 2 minute walk away) could pose a problem. In my own case I am familiar with the pueblo but nonetheless as I was travelling alone, it was necessary to leave luggage in an unguarded reception (as I didn't want to lug it with me) which was a little disconcerting. It was the young lady who was cleaning that advised me that it would be fine to leave luggage just behind the reception & refreshed my memory as to how to locate the La Fonda Hotel. The pueblo in general is a very safe area. I would mention that if arriving by taxi, they are unable to drive right upto the door of the Hotel - the same is true on leaving. The La Fonda Hotel can order a taxi to the airport ( or wherever) and it can stop on the corner very near to the Posada. There is also a taxi rank in the main part of the village. I would also mention that for people with mobility problems, there is no lift, and the staircase has to be used to reach most rooms. There are a couple of rooms at ground level in the patio so it would be worth mentioning when booking. Unfortunately, the first room I was allocated was not suitable as it was located next to the laundry room and there were some overhead pipes which seemed to be making a humming noise. I had to return to the La Fonda hotel to ask to change rooms, which was done very efficiently and without problem. The room I was given was spacious and perfectly adequate for my needs. There are telephones in the rooms and I was told that if I had any other problems I could contact the La Fonda Hotel by dialling 100 to speak to someone personally. As many people
