Perfect location - 25 minutes walk from the train station - walk out the front of the hotel turn right & you see the Tower in seconds. Rooms clean / tidy & traditional but perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay in Pisa. Breakfast was buffet style & had everything from cereals, croissants, yogurts to bacon & eggs - all good. The rooftop bar is the star though - it has a perfect view of the tower. Costs are reasonable as well being the same as what you would pay at street level.

We stayed for 4 nights in Pisa at the Hotel La Pace. Pisa is a very interesting city, clean with some great eating places. Also very good for anyone with a gluten intolerance. We stayed at the Hotel La Pace which deserves 5 stars. Clean, friendly staff and great breakfast. we did experience a couple of 'drop outs' with the Wifi but that is the only negative thing about this hotel.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

Stayed here for 1 night in August to see Pisa before flying home after a wedding holiday, and we honestly could have stayed for a week. It was perfect to be able to relax and decompress after a busy trip in such an impressive hotel with pool grounds on the edge of Pisa. It was easy to get in and out of the centre of Pisa, the walk was fine in the day (you do have to use an underpass but plenty of other people are also using it). At night we opted for taxis, the underpass had a bit to do with this but also it was just easier for us all dressed for dinner. Our room honestly felt like luxury, this place is an absolute gem for those who want a high standard hotel whilst seeing Pisa. would 10000% recommend. Only criticism - the roof is underused. There's a disused bar that's completely empty and a handful of seats. We couldn't believe this as it was absolutely beautiful at sunset. They could definitely utilise this more to give the hotel that extra wow factor. We'd have definitely made us of it if it were running.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, a Friday and Saturday. We were unable to check in until 40 minutes after our room was supposed to be ready, check in was disorganised and the taxi we booked while checking in arrived 24 hours early at 5am with reception ringing us to wake us up. We went down to breakfast, arriving at 9.35am. Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10am. Hardly and food was left, just trays with crumbs where food had once been. No bread, no pastries, just a few bits of ham, salami and cheese and that was about it. Other people who arrived before us were also in the same situation. I gave up and went back to the room feeling disgruntled while my wife stayed and had a coffee and a few morsels, even the coffee was difficult to obtain. The hotel itself is interesting, but is in need of some TLC, the toilet was a bit smelly and the room was very tired looking. We had a room at the front overlooking the river. The air con worked ok so we were able to close the window and shutters to keep the street noise down but it was still quite noisy with traffic and the noise of people shouting etc until the early hours, to be fair it was the weekend so not entirely unexpected. Great location, but I get the feeling they rely on this and the history of the hotel to fill their rooms, simple complacency. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Cleanliness not great, such as stained upholstery on chairs. Would not stay there again. Overall disappointed, if I were you find somewhere else, too expensive for the standard of accommodation and service.

Stayed here for two nights before heading to cinque Terre. I'd give 4 stars to the staff, breakfast and location for station and walking to the tower. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was super and plentiful. And location was perfect for late arrival from Pisa airport....right next to Pisa centrale. I'd give about 2 stars for the room and general condition of the hotel. Although the rooms were clean and comfortable it was let down with poor decoration and overdue refurb. Holes in walls, need of redecorating and fefit. We had an adjoining room and could hear everything on the other side...even zipping up their case...poor. NH need to do a walk around and see the problems here. Paid £135 per night. Don't think I got my money's worth. No fault of the staff they can only work with what they've got. Come on NH.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. Overall it is good, the room is spacious and not crowded at all, and the bathroom is quite large. The heating in the room is adequate, so you have to lower the temperature when you come in. Breakfast is charged separately, not particularly rich, there are many types of bread but no leafy greens, and coffee is exquisite. There is a free pizza map in the shop, there is a free parking lot, open air but very safe. Drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa in less than ten minutes.

This hotel, now called Hotel Villa Tower Inn , is definitely a 3-star hotel -- as indicated in the Trip Advisor description here and NOT 4-star as suggested by their logo and promotions. I suppose it may be a decent 3-star hotel: quaint, near the only real attractions that draw you to Pisa, easy-to-find, with 24-hour reception, a mini-bar fridge, LCD TV, etc. I understand from some reviews that there are renovated rooms. Not 207, although the bathroom sports updated amenities. The paint is aging and the decor is ”charming” where charm stand-ins for ”subpar” like ”antique” stands-in for ”old.” The headboard has probably seen better days and seen many things. I say that because this is the ”Romantic” room. It's romantic because with more than one person in the room there is going to be a lot of touching--intended or not. The ceiling is very high: eyeballing it, the height of the room is easily 20% more than either its length or width. Continuing on the theme of odd perspectives and charm, there is an armour in the room. It is perfectly serviceable, though only Michael Jordan could use the top of the two clothes rods. It is 3” short of the 8' height of a basketball rim. (I measured.) How such a guest would fit for sleep is a whole other question... The room has what seems to be an anemic little A/C that turns out to be surprisingly up to the job at least through the night. It was so hot out this week that we hardly bothered to open the shutters (inside or out), except to note that the view from this room is of a wall and hospital parking area/park. I'm trying not to be too *****y because the hotel can't possibly live up to my expectations of a 4-star hotel. It shouldn't have to... unless, of course, its logo suggests that it has 4-stars.

Wonderful service, wonderfully located hotel. A short walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, restaurants everywhere and a lovely gelato shop about 5 minutes away. A 12 minute walk from the Pisa Centrale train station so this hotel is extensive convenient. Breakfast was included in my room package that I booked for my family so every morning we would go to the pastry shop right around the corner where breakfast is served, a coffee drink and a delicious pastry to start us on our day. Next time we are in Pisa again we will DEFINITELY stay at Leonardo Hotel again…..until next time.

Like many other AC hotels in Italy: a good hotel. Clean, friendly staff, good housekeeping, ok location a bit out of town (though you get a quiet rest and a good night sleep). We came to like the ACs in Italy - wherever you go, you get a good level of service, a solid product and friendly staff wherever and whenever. So is the case in Pisa. Free parking - plenty of in front and on the side. Would chose again to stay here.

we stayed here for one night - it's an ok hotel, walking distance from the train station which was a priority for us. The rooms were clean and in reasonable order and the breakfast was good. The one issue for us was the noise of the elevator - we were in room 112 which is located next to the elevator shaft - it was noisy as the lift seemed to be operating throughout the night.

It is very convenient to walk a few minutes away from pisa tower. The door of the flight that arrived late at night was locked and tossed for a while before entering. The environment is good. The bathing facilities are a little rudimentary, and the breakfast is served in the yard. The MM service at the front desk on the first floor is very good, helping to print train timetables and tickets. Italian thieves must pay attention to the safety of their property.

The location of the hotel is a bit off; the breakfast is very good, the restaurant is very beautiful, and the prices of orders at other times are more expensive; the rooms are quite spacious, safe, refrigerator, TV, etc. are all available, all of which are embedded in design, which has a sense of science and technology; The open-air garden on the second floor is very beautiful, suitable for evening chats and gatherings; in terms of services, two beds are set up in the room as required, and free taxi-hailing services are provided. The consumption receipt is shown at the checkout, but a tourist tax of 4 euros is added every night (Not mentioned when booking by Ctrip); In terms of hygiene, the rooms can be cleaned up in time, but the corridors, rooms and towels all have a sour smell.

It was only a short trip of two days in Pisa before moving on to Palermo. My first time in Pisa. So we tried to book a cheap hotel room there because we would be out exploring the area and only needed a place to sleep. Pros: The Hotel IL Giardino is situated behind the historic retaining wall of the Piazza dei Miracoli. It's only 5 minutes on foot from the hotel to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, only half a minute walking before you can see the tower. The bed was fairly comfortable and there was a little fridge in my room. The hotel feels safe and has suitable door locking systems. The staff are friendly and kind. The roof terrace is quiet and cozy. Cons: Unfortunately my room doesn't have windows, only a skylight that couldn't be opened. The only fresh air was exclusively from the air conditioner. No lamp on the bedside table. Warm water in the shower doesn't come until after 5 minutes and with low pressure. The room door lock is very loud when opening and closing, especially at night when the people are asleep, also impossible to close door quietly and a loud beeping when the key card is used. The walls are poorly soundproofed. There is a little bar inside, but it was closed over the whole time we stayed there. My travel partner moved into the room opposite to mine. His room was a little better, a bedside lamp, better partitioning of the room, but also no windows in the walls. Really annoying: I paid the same as my travel partner for a different state of quality and comfort. Summary: The Hotel Il Giardino has allegedly better and more comfortable rooms in the premises. If you are traveling through and stay for a night or two, and you don't want to really reside there, this kind of room may a solution - if you don't have claustrophobia. But: the value for money is bad. It is relatively expensive, because of the famous sights there. + clean house and clean rooms + close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa + secure room door locks + fairly comfortable bed + little fridge in the room + air conditioner in single room + nice rooftop terrace + nice staff - no windows inside - no possibility to open the single skylight - no fresh air from windows possible - cold to tepid water temparature in the shower - claustrophobic ambience - slightly poor soundproofed walls - very loud door lock - low value for money

From the moment we arrived at the entrance and we're greeted by the receptionist, Maria we felt so welcomed. I'd read that all the staff were welcoming and this proves to be the case. Our room, Altana, was on the top floor. Very roomy and calm with extra special touches like a bottle of red wine, some soft drinks in the fridge, books to read but most impressive of all was the very top room with great views over the rooftops, a comfortable sofa and a record player with vinyl LPs. What a treat. Very sophisticated. Also a dressing room a d great bathroom. A perfect stay. This was our favourite stay of the four places we booked. Absolutely lovely.

Don’t be fooled by the photos. But in fact, when I arrived in the room, it turned out that the photo was taken and it felt very dirty...Because it is an old building, the wall is that kind of old wall, so it looks dirty, but it is actually the texture of the wall...The interior inside is very beautiful The lamps and tables all have old European style and are very comfortable. The front desk is also very standardized, all dressed in suits, very polite and friendly, and good English. The most beautiful is the top of the hotel room, which has a bit of the feeling of a wooden house on the Norwegian side, because it may be an old house with wooden beams rebuilt, but it looks better. The hot water in the bath is also very hot. There is no elevator. We have a lot of boxes. The front desk changed us to a low-floor room~ and the heating seems to be turned off in the middle of the night. Many hotels here seem to be like this in order to save costs but it will not be cold at night. The breakfast is also quite rich, it is a normal continental breakfast, basically all.

We've just returned from a great three night stay at the Di Stefano. Great location, less than 10 minutes walk from the Leaning Tower and 15 minutes from Pisa Centrale Station. The room was spacious and modern and enough space for the four of us. Excellent air conditioning and was extremely quiet at night. We all slept really well. The staff were always very friendly and each morning they serve a lovely continental breakfast in the ground floor vault which has a lot of character. I'd recommend taking a drink up to the terrace where you can see the top of the tower poking up above the roof tops. All in all a great trip and I'd highly recommend for any travellers wanting to see what Pisa has to offer beyond the Leaning Tower as well as a base to reach Florence (just an hour away by train).

Also recommended a very nice restaurant I-Santi a few doors away which was brilliant and subject of a separate review. The room was large and had it’s own balcony with table chairs and other bits of furniture. The tower was viewable from the balcony photo attached. I've stayed a mid-week in the hotel together with my two kids. We've had a room that was spacious enough for the three of us! It's a small hotel with 6 rooms and is located on a lovely square in the city centre of Pisa. The room was pleasant and with comfortable beds. The room has double windows and is well isolated; so we weren't bothered by the noise at night. Since we've booked through the hotel's website, breakfast was included. The neighborhood is safe and close to plenty of good, affordable restaurants. Since Pisa is very small, all sights are within walking distance (e.g. tower 10 min, train station 15 min). It's about a 10km walk to see the main sights of the city Pisa is also an excellent city to discover Tuscany. Lucca is a 30 min ride, while Florence is about 60 min away with the train. Cinque Terre is also within reach, but will take you 1,5hr bij train. We would definitely stay again at this hotel! And a perfect place to discover the beauty of Tuscany!

We had a twin room for 2 nights at the beginning of our holiday and 1 night at the end of our holiday. The first part of our stay was ok -- at least there was a split type air conditioner that worked! (though I could see the air con itself was very dusty!). The bathroom was very congested, shower cubicle, toilet and bidet packed together. One couldn't even sit properly on the toilet! The second part of our stay was much worser -- the built-in type air conditioner was not working. We opened the window but it was still too noisy at almost 12:00, we could hear people talking downstairs. It was too hot so we could not sleep well. Besides, the bathroom was even smaller -- there was no proper shower cubicle, just a shower curtain, so you could imagine that after a shower, the whole bathroom was like flooding! Again, as it was small, one could hardly use the toilet properly and needed to be extra careful not to be hit by tower rack and sink worktop. To conclude, even if the location is close to Pisa Central station, while paying at this price, I would not recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and we sincerely enjoyed it. It is an old building but the rooms have everything you need. Spacious bathroom, good beds, smart tv, fridge, kettle etc. We only had minimal contact with staff as this is a small hotel and thus staff is not available for the whole day, but the little contact we had, the staff was courteous and most helpful. the hotel lies in a very central part of Pisa with close proximity to airport and train station. The only thing one has to be aware of is that there is no lift so its usually one or two flights of stairs to one's room. All in all, very satisfied.

The hotel is perfectly located literally 2 minutes from The Leaning Tower. The street outside has plenty restaurants, supermarkets and small shops. Our room was on the first floor. Basic, but very clean with a small fridge and ensuite facilities. Also on the first floor is a small roof terrace where you can have breakfast or drinks overlooking the Tower. You can buy chilled beer, wine and soft drinks from reception. The staff are a real credit to the hotel: very friendly, courteous and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Franceso.

We spent a night in February 2023. I chose this hotel because it was the only one that I could find that had a big room for 3 adults and 2 children available in Pisa at the time. On the plus side it is conveniently located near the tower of Pisa and the train station of Pisa San Rossore, and adequately priced. Our room was clean, spacious and had a sink and an electric cooktop with 2 hotplates. On the minus side, the room decor was a bit dated and located near a very busy intersection. The very helpful receptionist brought us a big travel crib for our child. We would probably stay there again if we were in Pisa because of the convenience.
