The newer hotel has been open for almost a year. It is opened by Canadians. The diving instructor is also a Canadian. You can change the diving suit at the hotel, take the hotel boat to the diving spot, and come back to the room to bathe directly. It is very convenient. Because they are not big, they are supervised by everyone, and they are enthusiastic about each and every one of them. You can talk to them if you have any needs. They will try their best to make you satisfied. There are welcome drinks, Western food and Philippine and Chinese food. It is a good place to relax. The room is clean and the water in the bathroom is not fast, but the island's fresh water resources are like this. There is hot water, it won't be too hot. It is very hot outside. Oh, wifi is not fast and unstable. I don't know if it is a problem with my mobile phone. The garden is beautifully furnished and comfortable, with birds singing all day long. Finally, remember that there is no problem with mosquito repellent, haha.From$111

This was my second stay at the Mermaid Resort. I am happy to have visited again. The location is on the main road. It's close to the bay but just above the noisy restaurants and bars. The penthouse rooms offer a nice view of the bay and a giant outdoor whirlpool tub. Air conditioning is a modern split mini with remote control - great! The bed has a memory foam mattress and duvet-type comforter. The bathroom has an enormous tub/shower. There are two shelves for toiletries, etc. Everything was very clean. There is a large TV with lots of channels. Internet speeds are solid: 5 mbps down, 6mbps up. The staff are terrific. They arranged a water taxi for me and a transfer to Manila. I'd be happy to return.From$55

I'd like to graciously comment that to some extent, we had a good and fulfilling stay except for an uncomfortable experience in meeting a few ”defensive” staff of Jack Daniel Apartments. I would kindly suggest that next time, please welcome your guests warmly first before telling it to their face the cost of (e.g.) extra mattress for each night, missing bath towel, etc. I think it's intimidating to confront the guests with ”this and that prices” when they have just arrived. I regret to say that some staff were defensive in their explanation. Another intimidating act was the suggestion of Ms. Jocie for us to book another room with two superior bedrooms, when our booking confirmation stated 4 adults and 4 children. It was just relieving when she finally honoured the Agoda Booking Confirmation, but not after hours of long discussions 😢. Anyhow, I wasn't very glad to pay Php 2,000. for two extra mattresses for our additional two school children; and even this amount is high. We liked the swimming pool and the gardens. The property must have seen long years but well maintained. Despite my experience with a few intimidating staff, I'd like to thank Jack Daniel Apartments.From$23

This hotel is on a small island, you need to take a boat to get on it! There is only this hotel on the island, so there is no other entertainment. The bar and convenience store commercial street is on the sabang, there is none here! The small island is surrounded by other islands. The sea view room is booked-you can see the sea from the balcony-and you can watch the sunrise! Very suitable for vacation! And the dishes cooked by the chef in the hotel are also delicious! It's quiet, it's family-friendly. The dive sites are close and allow a return to the resort after each dive. The equipment is mounted on the block and awaits us on the bangka. At the end of its stay, it is returned washed and dried. For the dives Christophe and Hippo will unearth the wonders to see. The day at Isla Verde is worth doing. A room is dedicated to the photographer to recharge the batteries and dry the equipment. The bedroom with 1 double bed is spacious with local artisan decor. The meals are excellent. The local staff is friendly and available and quickly remembers your first name. Well done Alain. The massage at the resort is of better quality and cleanliness than in town.From$46

The hotel is in the alley at the foot of the mountain. The entrance is a relatively large open-air swimming pool. The water in the pool is very clean. Our room is on the second floor with a balcony. Although the room is not big, it feels very warm. The bed in the room is very soft and comfortable, and the air conditioner is very quiet and not very noisy. The shower has hot water but the water volume is not very large. The hotel can call horse* chicken to the room, you can also order, and also provide simple kitchenware to use in the lobby. We stayed for a long time, tired of the island's Western food, Filipino food, Korean food, cooked noodles and occasionally ate it. Overall, the hotel is moderately priced and the price is relatively high. Stayed here as a group, on a medical outreach program to Mindoro. 6 night stay. Very comfortable hotel for the price with friendly and efficient staff. The hotel is set back from the road a little, with gated entry and just opposite a large mall. Only about 10 mi it’s or so from the port, via which we arrived from Batangas City on the ferry. Airy reception with, as I say, friendly and efficient staff. This is old school so one is presented with an old fashioned key on a chain of which there is only one per room. So, as we were sharing on this trip, it is essential to put your key behind reception when you leave to avoid locking your roommate out of the room inadvertently. The rooms are pretty typical of hotel rooms worldwide. Comfortable beds and a bathroom with over the tub shower. Whilst I am on that subject, we were unable to coax anything more than tepid water from it during our stay and I’m not really a fan of cool showers! Housekeeping also seems hit and miss. There are small signs one pits on the bed to have it made up but these went unheeded a couple of times. Also the bathroom supplies are sp**** and weren’t replaced regularly during our stay. I am sure one can make representations to reception to have these things done but we didn’t. Sleeping on the reception side of the hotel meant it was very quiet. However, be aware that those that overlook the pool are also close to the bar which can be quite noisy apparently, according to some of my colleagues. There is a weird thing if you choose, as I did, to use the stairs rather than the elevator to access your room. The bottom step of the second flight is several centimeters taller than all the others. This may not seem a big deal but I tripped twice going upstairs and a member of our party turned her ankle there so be warned. We were served breakfast every day, and ate one dinner at the pleasant dining space. The food was simple but well presented and tasty. Overall a very comfortable stay and I’d stay here again without hesitation. They will also provide a laundry service for next to no cost which proved very useful on our tripFrom$47

A perfect distance to escape the hustle & bustle, but also close enough not to be inconvenient. They also have mopeds for hire. The owners & staff are friendly & helpful and make you feel welcome. Leah was amazing with my booking, sorting everything out promptly by messenger. It has many room types, a restaurant and 2 swimming pools. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay & would recommend Jalyn's resort.

Room #2 got the big bed (king size), this one is different, the sink is outside the comfort room. (this is funny). The cleaners are very nice and polite including the reception. I woke up in the middle of the night around 2:30 am because of a man on the phone just in front of the balcony. So yeah, messes my sleep for sure. In the morning, i dont wake up because of my alarm, it is because of noises coming from outside even with that glass enclosure MAN! You can hear them. They love to talk loud in front of the porch. These are locals. They like the shade in front of the rooms. Couple of them talk loudly. And then when you go out to enjoy your coffee then they start to bother you. You need boat? Island hopping and on and on.. my God! The hotel have generator which is a good thing because ”Ursula typhoon” was in Mindoro last week. Wifi is not strong enough. When the signal on the TV is out, wifi is out too. I only have the chance to connect on and off to wifi from 23-24 of Dec. then from 25-26 no WIFI. So if you're looking for a reliable wifi, maybe this hotel is not for you or bring your own. Even we are at the front beach i dont think that the beach is clean enough. So No! we didn't go swimming.

Having previously used all the superlatives to describe other resorts, I need new ones, as this is an order of magnitude beyond all previous resort vacations. The physical resort, the food, the service, the diving, the attitude of the staff, everything. I was met at the airport, guided through the ferry terminal, picked up at the ferry landing, taken to the resort, and greeted by name, by everyone, all week. At no time was I ”just another dollar”, and at no time was any member of the staff less than entirely cheerful and helpful. I could get used to this, real easy... It's as if I were a valued guest, instead of just a customer. Imagine that. To make this shorter for those who don't want to read the rest of this... I began my plans to return on the way home. I rarely go anywhere outside of the USA twice, (been there, done that..) Not this time. I am going back and I will bring as many friends as I can. It's 14 hours on a jet from LAX to Manila, and 4 more hours after that. I hate travel, but this was worth it. I'll take Philippine Airlines again next time too. They don't treat you like cattle, sheep or dirt. I have now felt respect while travelling, and I like it! The flight wasn't so bad. I am 6” tall, weight 240, and was comfortable in economy. Free wifi, a tv with free movies, tv shows, music..etc.. a very pleasant flight, in both directions. Food OPTIONS! You get to choose. Wow. On arrival at Marco Vincent, I was greeted by name, shown my room, a crate was outside my door to put my dive gear in, it was the last time I handled it all week. My room was large, extremely clean, super comfortable with a small fridge full of water, a table w 2 chairs, a big shower, AC unit, very firm mattress, spotless soft white sheets, a 32” TV with plenty of channels and it was quiet. All meals were as good as I have had anywhere. This place only has 32 rooms, so the buffet menu is not extensive, but I always found more than enough of what I like to eat. The quality and presentation was always top notch. The quality of the food extends to the dive boat, Big Beth. They have a chef aboard and those meals are the same quality as at the resort. Remember, this is a day boat, and they have a chef aboard serving freshly made gourmet meals. (Sure beats grabbing a sandwich at Walmart on the way to the lake....) The diving itself was like nowhere else. I saw things I didn't know existed.. an electric clam? WOW! Nudibranchs, mantis shrimp, lion fish (where they belong), a few octopi, at least three, maybe five, different morays, frogfish, giant clams, miniature seahorses, scorpionfish, colors that I can't describe...more different fish than I could list in a week... Every dive was something new, and all conducted from a really nice boat, the nicest boat I saw there. There are many dive sites near the town, the corals are well protected, and each one is rare. You can change the diving suit at the hotel, take the hotel boat to the diving spot, and come back to the room to bathe directly. It is very convenient. Because they are not big, they are supervised by everyone, and they are enthusiastic about each and every one of them. You can talk to them if you have any needs. They will try their best to make you satisfied. There are welcome drinks, Western food and Philippine and Chinese food. It is a good place to relax. The room is clean and the water in the bathroom is not fast, but the island's fresh water resources are like this. There is hot water, it won't be too hot. It is very hot outside. |1.85km from city centerWe stayed at Blue Crystal Beach Resorts for two weeks. We had the most wonderful time resting, sightseeing, island hopping and walks around the neighborhood. Breakfast is free which makes it taste even better, hahaha!
On the serious side, the encounters we have had with the staff are phenomenal! Greets you with the sweetest biggest smile!!! Always asking if there is anything we need for our room, prepared our meals accordingly, at times even gave us the option if there is anything we wanted to eat out of the menu. They even go above and beyond their call of duty to ensure we have eaten before they leave for the night, how amazing is that! Truly unheard off! Thank Dolor and Annalyn for going the extra mile so we didn’t starve for the night.
Thank you to Lucy and Ram for preparing our meals according to our dietary guidelines and make taste yummy!

The food was great, the room is clean, the family room is gorgeous with a nice view of Sabang beach. The Hotel Manager, Mark is very accommodating as well as the hotel staff. We felt well served and the place feels so exclusive for us. Though the family room is located on the top, its like climbing a 7th floor, but its worth it because of the very nice view .We rented out a jeepney to bring us to white beach the whole afternoon and return in the evening. We both enjoy sabang and white beach during our stay. We will definitely come back.
