Let's start with the positives: The hotel environment is indeed very nice and beautiful. It's close to the sea in the morning, has a pool, and is conveniently located. Now for the main points, which led to a bad experience and a negative review: We didn't realize that to get to Koh Chang, you had to reach the pier and board by 5 PM that day, otherwise, you'd have to wait until the next day. While we were on our way, around 12 PM that day, we contacted the hotel to see if we could cancel that night's stay or postpone it by a day. The hotel initially refused, and even after we involved the platform's customer service, it was no use! Alright, so Trip.com ended up compensating us for part of our room fee, and we rented a hotel near the pier to board the island the next day. The next day, we arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, and they still made us wait for the room to be cleaned. We waited for about 25 minutes before checking in. We found this very strange because if they didn't let us cancel the room we didn't stay in yesterday, and still charged us for it, shouldn't we have been able to check in directly, even if we arrived at 6 AM? What kind of cleaning were they doing? (We strongly suspect the hotel was double-dipping, 'marrying two husbands' so to speak). After finally checking into the room, the door was incredibly difficult to open with the key (after finding a nearby staff member, they helped us change the lock). We were already exhausted at that point, and then we couldn't even open the door, which made us even angrier!!!

Our stay at AWA Koh Chang exceeded all of our expectations. Even before our arrival, I contacted the hotel to ask if it would be possible to have a ground-floor room, as we were traveling with two young children and wanted easy access to the beach. Although we booked the Premium Room category, I knew that these rooms are located on different floors. To our delight, the hotel kindly accommodated our request and assigned us one of the best rooms—right on the ground floor, with direct access to both the swimming pool and the beach. This thoughtful gesture made our family vacation so much more enjoyable, and we truly appreciated the hotel’s attention to detail. The hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay. Every member of the staff was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Their smiles and willingness to help made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The rooms were spotless, the beachfront views were breathtaking, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. It is a wonderful destination for couples, but especially for families with young children. The breakfast was another highlight, offering a great variety of delicious food with excellent quality. Every meal we had at the hotel was enjoyable and beautifully prepared. Thank you to the entire AWA Koh Chang team for creating such a memorable experience. Your genuine hospitality and thoughtful service truly set this resort apart. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return on our next visit to Koh Chang. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay at KC Grande Resort. The location is great, right by the beach, and the whole resort feels very relaxing. Our room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good variety, the swimming pool was nice, and we loved watching the sunset by the beach. A very good place to relax in Koh Chang. Would definitely stay again! 🌴🌅😊

I moved here from KC and I'm so glad I did! The hotel exceeded my expectations overall, so I'm giving it 5 stars, which might be partly because I just came from KC. I personally really love this natural wood style; it just instantly creates a full vacation vibe. The staff patiently escorted me to my room and explained everything. I was also lucky enough to meet the hotel's little cat, which I'd seen other guests comment on as being friendly and enthusiastic. The hotel has many activities, but I didn't have time for them all and only tried the hotel spa, which I was happy with. Breakfast was extensive, and as someone who loves Western breakfast, I give it a big thumbs up! I just didn't get a chance to try dinner. Next time, I'm planning to stay at The Slate Phuket, I really like it. (How new or old hotel facilities are really makes a difference!)

The hotel ambiance is great, and the price is good. The rooms are nice too. Breakfast isn't extensive, but they do have *khanom krok* (Thai coconut pancakes). The housekeeping staff are lovely; you can get 4 bottles of water per day. The front desk staff provide good service. However, my departure wasn't as pleasant because of one of the staff members. It was raining heavily as I was about to load my luggage into the car, and I'd forgotten my umbrella. The staff member just stood there watching me without offering any help. Even a small gesture like offering an umbrella would have been appreciated. I can handle my own bags, but I had to run to find an umbrella myself just to get my belongings into the car.

We had an amazing stay at Sylvan Koh Chang and truly enjoyed every moment. The resort is beautiful and full of little surprises. Every corner is stunning, surrounded by nature and beautiful frangipani flowers. The scent of fresh frangipani around the swimming pool was absolutely wonderful and made the whole stay feel even more special. The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive. They kindly prepared a lovely towel birthday cake for my partner with fresh frangipani flowers, which was such a sweet and memorable surprise. During breakfast, we even saw a huge bird nearby, which was a unique and memorable experience. One of our most unforgettable moments was walking back along the beach at night after dinner. The sky was full of stars, and we even saw a shooting star. It felt magical and romantic. Overall, it was a wonderful stay filled with beautiful memories. We would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this resort to couples looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

I travel a lot for work and rarely leave reviews, but this hotel truly made me feel incredibly comfortable. The environment is great, the room was excellent, and we even got an upgrade. Don't worry too much about the occasional small insect – it's unavoidable. What really stood out was the consistently excellent service from all the staff. They were quick to help with anything, and even if your English isn't perfect, simple communication is all you need. While the breakfast spread might be slightly smaller than a five-star in China, everything was delicious, especially the noodle soup – the broth was incredibly fresh. Lunch at the hotel wasn't too expensive and tasted great. We also booked various tours through the hotel, which were good and reasonably priced. With the hotel's discount vouchers, all our expenses were very cost-effective. Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The most important thing is their truly dedicated service. Next time, I'll definitely try another SENSYA brand hotel.

I really liked this hotel for its location – the sea is right nearby, and there's a great beach and an excellent pool. Everything is very beautiful, cozy, and clean. We loved our room; the mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable and soft! The bed linen was pristine white, and the towels were white too. Our room was cleaned every day, and we were completely satisfied. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with different dishes every day, and everything was delicious 😋. The only thing that upset me was the lock on the sliding door (second to last photo). It worked time to time. Keep in mind that the electrical outlets in the rooms are not grounded (last photo).

No mango smoothie available for two days! In Thailand!!! Restaurant lasagne middle warm while the dish itself couldn’t be touched as it was the only hot thing. The Pool Pumps are high pitch streaming several times per day, which is very annoying. Restaurant „reserves“ table for non showing guest for hours. Prevent us from sitting at a nicer spot. And removed the reserved sign when we were done. Don’t Reserve seats… all this does is upset off other customers. The rooms were small and clean but the aircondition made a loud Sound very time the Compressor switched on. So sleeping well was not possible. The toilet Seat in the bath was just loosen attached an fall off on the time. Simple things no one seems to notice and fix… a bit disappointing Also be aware that you cannot lock your door and keep the ac running, as they use physical keys for the door, welded to the AC activation card.

Super nice Room. It was clean and really spacious! The staff there is friendly. Our car batterie died and one guy from the staff helped us immediately and wanted to jump start our car. BUT one other guy stopped him so he can sell us a used old battery for 3000baht that died the next day as well... Hotel is nice, just that one guy had only money in his mind haha. Besides that everybody is super friendly. There is a hotel wide free shuttle (only inside the resort). In-house Restaurant for dinner is pricey. I would recommend to try local, cheaper food outside. It's best to avoid the shops on the street level below the rooms, as they are very expensive. It's also best not to get a room with a mountain view, as those face the street. Nice room and decent hotel. Breakfast looks better than it tastes. The warm daily dishes are disappointing and there is absence of good Thai food. The bread, deli meat, cheeses, bread and salad choices are fine. Eggs and waffles are made to order and they are fine. Restaurant is not air conditioned and has small fans which add very little ventilation. Had issues twice with air conditioning and tub. Maid kept room very clean and made towels into pretty shapes along with flowers on bed. Made mistake of coming in May and it was miserably hot and most chairs are not shielded from the sun. The beach although beautiful is very narrow and filled with large rocks and coral so not good for walking or swimming. Had to walk down beach to find a better beach area but it lacked shade. If you can get the room without the 300 baht each normal charge I would suggest it. We had one day nearby in a cheaper hotel because we arrived late. Problem we had in May is there very few breakfast choices near either hotel. Very few street food vendors and mainly overpriced western food. Took several days to find good Thai food. I would recommend Koh Kood if you are alone. Better beaches and cheaper foods

I was quite impressed with this hotel. Since there aren't many reviews, I wanted to share more. The owner is a very welcoming foreigner who offers transportation services with his own cars to anywhere you need to go. While the cost might be a little high, the service is incredibly thoughtful. They also offer four breakfast options, so you can try something different each day. The hotel is right by the sea. I booked a sea-view room hoping to be closer to the beach, but the room itself only offered a view of the ocean. However, the room was incredibly spacious, like a one-bedroom apartment with a living area, plus a balcony right by the pool. I could truly relax there. The cleanliness was good, and the service was excellent. They usually clean the room around noon. I stayed for three nights and would definitely come back if I have the chance.

The hotel is a beautiful experience, it is practically a boutique hotel on the beach. We took a private room with a terrace (some rooms have a shared terrace between two units). The room is beautiful, the air conditioning works well, the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is crazy! Cleaning is excellent, both in the room and in the common areas. Breakfast is fantastic, tasty and varied, staff is exquisite and very careful. The swimming pool is very beautiful and has a view of the stripful beach. We had to stay only three nights but we were so good that we extended our stay for a week, I would return tomorrow!

This is our 4th time staying at this hotel, and it’s always been super, but not this time… There was construction going on from 8 AM, with sawing, drilling, and building noise lasting until evening. We couldn't get enough sleep in the morning, and we couldn't put our child down for a nap during the day. On the first day, breakfast was a buffet, but on the second day, we were only allowed to choose one dish per person from a list. We booked through Trip.com, and there was no mention of renovations on their website. Upon arrival, we tried to cancel and get a refund, but they refused, stating that refunds were not available under the booking conditions. We paid 23,000 rubles for two bungalows on the first line for two nights.

Serenity resort Amazing hotel - would highly recommend staying here. We stayed at serenity resort for 2 nights on arriving at Koh Chang from Bangkok. The location is so so idyllic and relaxing, absolutely beautiful. We also stayed on the west side of the island for a couple of nights and while it is quieter on the east side of the island (ie, there is no point in leaving the resort in the evening as there is nothing really to do on the east side after dark) this is exactly what we were after. The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. Food and drinks at the restaurant were great and reasonably priced. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely view. As other reviews have said, if you are staying here you will likely want your own transport so you can explore. We rented a moped from the resort at a very reasonable price. If you want to rent a car make sure you have an intl driving permit (takes a few mins to obtain but must do whilst in the UK). There’s barely any traffic on this side of the island so the drive down to long beach at the south of the island felt very safe on a moped despite the hills (and would be the same in a car). The resort staff recommended us to do this and then get kayaks over to Koh ngam, which we did and was a great experience! The other option is to rent a taxi for a day (we were quoted c2500 baht for 6 hours) and they can drop you wherever you like and wait for you. Thanks again for a lovely stay at serenity resort!!

I saw some bad reviews and initially didn't want to book, but then I just went ahead and booked, preparing myself for the worst. However, when I arrived, it was nothing like what others had reviewed! The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, especially the clear soup, and the room was clean. The beach was beautiful and very private, even on a public holiday. The premium villas really felt exclusive, with barely any outsiders. Plus, it's pet-friendly with no strict rules (though we still need to be responsible for our pets, of course). I loved it! I'll definitely be back next year.

Наше бунгало выходило на море, у нас были свои шезлонги. Большой общий бассейн при отеле, с удовольствием там плавали. В море мы не плаваем, но гуляли по берегу утром и вечером. Завтраки отличные. I checked before ordering but there were no reviews, and the pictures were a bit distorted, but it said it would open in 2024. I was still hesitant about whether to order. In the end, because this was the only way to meet the needs of all of us, I ordered with the mentality of giving it a try. Two buildings, I felt guilty all the way, afraid of stepping on thunder. It was a surprise after arriving at the hotel. The hotel is located on the west coast of Koh Chang. It is very quiet. It consists of 5-6 small villas in total. It is absolutely the same as the picture, and even feels more comfortable. When we arrived, the landlord and his maid welcomed us. To our surprise, the landlady was actually ********* and could communicate in Chinese without any problem. After we checked in, we learned that the landlord had just taken over the place and said that we were actually the first on their network. As a single guest😄, we were provided with free use of all facilities in the hotel. We also prepared barbecue grills and other equipment before we went out to play. All our needs were met during our stay. Due to time constraints, our whole family only stayed for two nights, but we felt like we were at home for the whole two days. The landlady and her mother were really hospitable. One moment, they gave us cashew nuts that they made personally, and the other moment, they gave us cashew nuts. The local Qingyou will give each child a large piece of chocolate when he sees it. To be honest, the landlord treated us like family during these two days. It is really a treasure place. I will definitely stay at their house next time I go there. I sincerely recommend friends who go to Koh Chang to visit their house to experience it!

This is a good 3-star hotel. The rooms are a bit run-down and need renovation, but it's clearly underway, with some rooms and areas already being worked on. Housekeeping was done almost every day (only missed a couple of times during our 12-night stay), but the cleaning itself was about a 4 out of 5; the wet cleaning could be done more often. On the first day, we were given a room on the 3rd floor of the main building, as requested. We were also pleasantly surprised with a wedding anniversary greeting. The balcony with a sea view was fantastic! However, the door to the balcony was translucent and faced almost directly onto a busy road. We ended up tracking traffic all night. The room was a bit tired, and the air conditioning was noisy at night, but for the price, I think it was pretty good value. A new bar opened on Dec 22nd, but on Dec 23rd, our mood was soured when they tried to charge hotel guests 1000 baht. They eventually resolved the incident and apologized, but the situation with this new bar and pool remained a bit tense. Overall, it was a good stay.

To get to the beach, you just need to cross the road, and there's even a traffic controller to help you with that. The hotel's water park is also fantastic. Overall, cleanliness and order are well-maintained. We'd definitely return if we have the chance.

I booked two floors in two different villas. They contacted me in advance and warned me that one of them would be replaced, as the previous guests wanted to extend their stay. They upgraded my room to a larger apartment with a sea view, which I absolutely loved. This was my first time at Koh Chang, so I give the experience a 5++. A personal, generous KHRAPP to Uncle Seryozha and his son Vladislav, and excellent, responsive service on site. The second room also lived up to all expectations, both in location and service. We were initially skeptical about the breakfasts at 500 baht per person, but ultimately decided they were definitely worth it. A good buffet, organic coffee, and pastries. There's also a small cafe nearby. We tried it—the food was good, but the administrator said that every table was often reserved (and obviously not fully occupied, giving the impression that either the adjacent villas were prioritized or that the staff were reluctant to open). The grounds are gigantic, apparently encompassing several different resorts. It would be difficult to navigate these wonderfully landscaped grounds without a moped. The service staff helped us with this, and after check-in, they brought the scooter right to our rooms. The beaches and beach bars (Shambala in particular) with their pools were absolutely delightful. Having driven around the island, I can say that one of the best beaches was right next to my room. I'm posting views from the beach opposite Apartment 1128. I don't have any photos of the accommodations, only videos, so I'll try to cut them up and upload them later.

I moved here from KC and I'm so glad I did! The hotel exceeded my expectations overall, so I'm giving it 5 stars, which might be partly because I just came from KC. I personally really love this natural wood style; it just instantly creates a full vacation vibe. The staff patiently escorted me to my room and explained everything. I was also lucky enough to meet the hotel's little cat, which I'd seen other guests comment on as being friendly and enthusiastic. The hotel has many activities, but I didn't have time for them all and only tried the hotel spa, which I was happy with. Breakfast was extensive, and as someone who loves Western breakfast, I give it a big thumbs up! I just didn't get a chance to try dinner. Next time, I'm planning to stay at The Slate Phuket, I really like it. (How new or old hotel facilities are really makes a difference!)

The only thing that upset me was the lock on the sliding door (second to last photo). It worked time to time. Keep in mind that the electrical outlets in the rooms are not grounded (last photo).

Don't worry too much about the occasional small insect – it's unavoidable. What really stood out was the consistently excellent service from all the staff. They were quick to help with anything, and even if your English isn't perfect, simple communication is all you need. While the breakfast spread might be slightly smaller than a five-star in China, everything was delicious, especially the noodle soup – the broth was incredibly fresh. Lunch at the hotel wasn't too expensive and tasted great. We also booked various tours through the hotel, which were good and reasonably priced. With the hotel's discount vouchers, all our expenses were very cost-effective. Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The most important thing is their truly dedicated service. Next time, I'll definitely try another SENSYA brand hotel.

Now for the main points, which led to a bad experience and a negative review: We didn't realize that to get to Koh Chang, you had to reach the pier and board by 5 PM that day, otherwise, you'd have to wait until the next day. While we were on our way, around 12 PM that day, we contacted the hotel to see if we could cancel that night's stay or postpone it by a day. The hotel initially refused, and even after we involved the platform's customer service, it was no use! Alright, so Trip.com ended up compensating us for part of our room fee, and we rented a hotel near the pier to board the island the next day. The next day, we arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, and they still made us wait for the room to be cleaned. We waited for about 25 minutes before checking in. We found this very strange because if they didn't let us cancel the room we didn't stay in yesterday, and still charged us for it, shouldn't we have been able to check in directly, even if we arrived at 6 AM? What kind of cleaning were they doing? (We strongly suspect the hotel was double-dipping, 'marrying two husbands' so to speak). After finally checking into the room, the door was incredibly difficult to open with the key (after finding a nearby staff member, they helped us change the lock). We were already exhausted at that point, and then we couldn't even open the door, which made us even angrier!!!
