I had a magnificent experience in this beautiful and historical hotel. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the information centre, bus station and eat streat, making it easily accessible. The staff, especially Ms Kaur, is very helpful and attentive. I had an early flight in the morning and she arranged a very smooth checkout. She is also enthusiastic in showing me around the hotel. Really appreciate the effort and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Let’s talk about the positive side first. - Very good location, right in the center of Rotorua - Facilities are a bit old but still well maintained - Breakfast was very nice But still, this is a very disappointing stay. - The housekeeper used our used towels to clean the shower floor, which I was very shocked about it. After I expressed my concern around hygiene standards, the housekeeper changed to use a fresh towel for cleaning. This is even more shocking. - Later I expressed my concern to the reception, the manager came up to our room for a check, I also showed her the side table, which still has water marks after cleaning. - Despite of the hygiene issues, the services and staff attitude was another concern. There was no resolution provided regarding my concerns. - Trip.com customer service was extremely helpful. I contact them, raised up my concerns, also the front office manager was aware of this issue. I was offered complimentary breakfast, bottle of wine, and upon check out, there was no parking charges. - While I appreciate the breakfast, wine and parking offer, I still see a communication issue. Normally hotel would place a card along with the wine, when I back to the room the wine just sitting on the side table, no card no apologies, I would have no idea why it is there. Also, the first photo shows a towel with stains- this is what I received after all of the hygiene concerns. As a loyal member of Accor group especially the Pullman brand, this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with Accor. I appreciated the front office manager’s email and the commitment to make things right, but there was a noticeable gap between the promised service and what was actually delivered.

The hotel's location is excellent; it's right across from Huang Chao supermarket, close to the lake, and conveniently near the famous hot springs, making everything easily accessible on foot. Although the rooms are a bit old, the bed is large and, refreshingly, just the right firmness. For the price, it offers great value for money. The only downsides are that rooms on the second floor require you to carry your luggage up the stairs as there's no elevator, and for some reason, the heating in my room wasn't working, making it a bit cold at night.

The location is fantastic, with both the food street and the lake just a 5-minute walk away. The front desk staff were really nice; even though the hotel was fully booked, they managed to find us a satisfying room on a higher floor. The hotel has a hot spring bath, which wasn't too crowded and was open until 11 PM. The only downside is that the changing room is a bit small and basic. The complimentary milk in the room was delicious, but breakfast was just so-so.

This is a large hotel that attracts many tour groups. There's a famous Chinese restaurant nearby with delicious seafood and fried rice. The hotel and rooms have a strong sulfur smell, probably because it's located in a hot spring area. However, I must mention that the heater in my room wasn't working. It seemed like the heaters on the entire floor were broken. The staff came up twice to try and fix it but couldn't. In the end, I had to borrow a portable heater from the hotel to get through the night.

Auckland to Huka Falls transit hotel, the town is very small and quiet. There is a geothermal park nearby, where you can soak in hot springs. There is no elevator on the second floor of the hotel, which is a key point. We have three big suitcases and it is too tiring. If you have big suitcases, don't stay on the second floor.

Good location and convenient for exploring Rotorua. I’ve stayed at a few other Haka House hostels, and Rotorua’s wasn’t quite as clean as the others. However, it was still clean and comfortable overall. The staff were friendly, and I enjoyed my stay. I would recommend it to travelers looking for good value and a great location.

Generally speaking, although all the hotels booked during the self-driving trip around New Zealand may not be available in luxury hotels (after all, the population density is very low), basically all the hotel beds are very comfortable and clean, which is really important. During the day, we are basically outside either driving or hiking, so having a comfortable and clean bed when we rest really ensures our sleep quality. I was mentally prepared before arriving at the room every time, but in fact, every time it was a little bit beyond my expectations. Like the one I booked in Rotorua this time, the room was clean and tidy, the bedding and mattress were very comfortable, and there was an extra bed in the room. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has an oven, the bathroom has a washing machine, and it's very close to the busiest streets. Because the itinerary is very tight, I arrive at the hotel very late every time and leave very early, so the above conditions are considered satisfactory for self-driving travel👍👍

The hotel's environment and location are excellent, and the underfloor heating is a great touch. The front desk made check-in feel very warm and welcoming, and check-out was smooth and hassle-free. I really wanted to give a 5-star rating. However, the breakfast experience was extremely disappointing. A female staff was busy clearing tables the entire time and provided no service at all. Many food items were already gone — we went at 8:10 AM, and breakfast was supposed to be available from 7 to 10 AM. There was no bread, no croissants, no apple pastries. As for fruit, only three pieces of orange were left, and they didn’t even have any pulp. I pointed this out to the staff member, and she simply told me that the breakfast supply was already finished, then continued tidying up without offering any help. But there were still over two hours left before breakfast was supposed to end! I was honestly speechless. I had no choice but to drive into the city center to buy some croissants myself. I don’t know if this was a cost-cutting measure or if they genuinely ran out of pre-frozen pastries, but either way, the experience was very poor. This was already our third time staying here, and the previous two visits did not have this issue.

Our stay at the Black Swan Hotel was truly amazing. Originally, we were booked at the Hana Lodge, but due to renovations, we were moved to their sister property in the heart of Rotorua. Despite the change, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. The room amenities were incredible. We had a free mini bar that was replenished daily, a large, comfortable bed, and breathtaking views of the lakes. The room was exceptionally clean, and all the staff members were incredibly helpful and courteous. The breakfast served from 7 am was delicious! Spend a pleasant and comfortable two nights in the hotel. The room is spacious and the two-room layout is enough to put luggage, which is very suitable for parents and children, especially families with two babies. The room is fully equipped and the tableware is very new. You can cook and boil water yourself. The bathroom is upgraded to a smart toilet, and the experience is very good. The interior of the hotel is very large, and each room can be parked separately, which is very suitable for self-driving travel. There is a public heated swimming pool in the courtyard, and the water temperature is comfortable and clean. The special highlight of the hotel is that each room has a separate hot spring pool, which is very private. There is a hot and cold water faucet next to the pool, you can adjust the water temperature yourself. It is a must-do project to experience the hot springs in Rotorua. You can soak in the hot springs in your own room when you stay at this hotel, which is comfortable and convenient. Recommended stay!

Like a 10-15 min to food street. The first reception I met was super nice and she gave me lots of good recommendations. Tried finding reception again the next day and he disappeared and never returned. The walls are very thin and you can hear a lot. There were some ****** yelling and screaming at 10pm one night (I assume they were having their sad version of a 'party' with only 3 guys...). I put my soundproof on and slept. The shower wasn't really clean. When I turned on the water it smelt like hot piss... No exchanging of new towels and I was there for 3 days. Annoying since I went to the Hell's Gate spa and all my stuff now smells like sulphur. There also wasnt any hand soap in my bathroom. Lots of free parking which was nice.

Traveling to Rotorua with my parents and child this time, staying at Rydges was definitely the warmest highlight of our entire trip! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and professional. When they noticed we had elderly family members and a young child, they thoughtfully upgraded our room for free! The upgraded room was very spacious, making it easy for my parents to move around, and giving my child plenty of space to play. The beds were super comfortable. The best part was the hotel's geothermal heated pool/hot springs. After a day of activities, taking the whole family for a dip washed away my parents' aches and pains, and my child absolutely loved playing in the water. Many thanks to the Rydges Rotorua team for their high level of hospitality and human touch. Next time we visit Rotorua, we will definitely choose to stay here again!

The hotel used to be a private mansion with every detail. The hotel is facing Lake Rotorua, the room has a wide view, five minutes drive from the skyline and ten minutes from the downtown. The hotel has its own paddock, where horses and sheep graze leisurely on the slopes. Breakfast can be cooked to order, and the lamb in the kiwi breakfast is very good. It was very comfortable to take a walk in the courtyard after eating breakfast. The hotel staff was warm and considerate. Some regrets were that because of the self-service on the skyline, I didn't try the dinner at the hotel. I have a chance to try it next time. There is a study room on the second floor of the hotel. There is a 200-page world map on the table. It has been turned over and confirmed that there is no less in China.

Of the four hotels I stayed at during my six-night trip in New Zealand, this was the best I stayed at, and I was generally satisfied with the experience. I booked a three-bedroom cabin. There were only two of us when we checked in; the other two rooms were empty. For a family trip, especially during the Chinese New Year holiday, three bedrooms would be more than enough for a family of six. The price per person was about 200 RMB, which is excellent value. At this price, you might not even be able to book a single room at a regular hotel. One of the hotel's biggest highlights is its location and views. The cabin is built along the lake, in a quiet environment with a beautiful lake view. Sometimes you can even see the Milky Way at night 🌌. Opening the window reveals a stunning lake view, giving it a strong resort feel. You can see the actual view in the video. Another advantage is the well-organized front desk service. There's someone on duty at the front desk almost always, and there's a night check-in window for late arrivals. This is quite rare in New Zealand, as many hotels close their front desks outside of working hours. The rooms are apartment-style, with a fully equipped kitchen including a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, and oven, making it suitable for families staying for a few nights and cooking their own meals. The room has large floor-to-ceiling windows, providing excellent natural light and a spacious feel. Overall, it's highly recommended for families or groups of several people. While reading reviews, some guests mentioned the lack of air conditioning or a large number of mosquitoes in the summer. My actual experience was as follows: While the bedroom itself didn't have individual air conditioning, the living room area had air conditioning due to the loft layout. The cooling was perfectly adequate for the whole family in the living room. As for the bedroom, when I stayed in February, the local temperature was around 18–26℃, making it quite comfortable overall. There was no obvious need to turn on the air conditioning. In fact, even with the air conditioning on in the living room, it felt slightly cool. Locals also mentioned that the truly hot weather in New Zealand doesn't last long. Of course, if you plan to stay during the hottest time of the year, it's advisable to check with the hotel beforehand. Regarding mosquitoes, I personally didn't experience any significant problems during my stay. Flying ants were more prevalent in February, with peak activity between 10:30 and 11:30 AM. After this time, the area is basically cleared out. The overall environment is quite natural and lakeside, typical of a resort setting. It's recommended to bring your own basic mosquito repellent supplies for peace of mind, especially in summer. Overall: This hotel is perfectly comfortable. Regarding the negative reviews about the air conditioning, please consider the seasonal factors rationally.

Many people come to the Blue Lake in RVs and yachts. Needless to say, the scenery of the Blue Lake is so beautiful. Sitting by the lake relaxes your teeth and scalp. The resort has separate toilets and shared toilets/bathrooms. Mostly locals come for water sports and swimming/camping, very few Chinese tourists. It is recommended to bring a swimming ring or surfboard from January to March. There are no restaurants around, so we brought instant noodles and tomatoes on our backs. After eating a few days later, we took a 10-minute taxi to the Landing Cafe next to Terawera Lake to eat. The beach was very lively on a sunny day, filled with children and adults with dogs🐶 Come and play in the water. The lake is crystal clear and opposite is a volcano. You can talk to local people with yachts and let them drive to the hot water beach at the foot of the volcano for a hot spring♨️.

I booked the Dome Room for two nights. As many online reviews mentioned, it was indeed very clean. The bedding was high-quality pure cotton, spotless white, making for a very reassuring sleep. Oh! Besides the room's air conditioning (heating and cooling), they also provided electric blankets on the beds – what a thoughtful owner! The room came with an induction cooker, microwave, and refrigerator. The owner also thoughtfully provided dishes, pots, cutlery, tea bags, and milk, making it perfect for those who want to prepare simple meals. Each room has free, unlimited Wi-Fi! We parked our car right outside the room, which made it very convenient to grab things. The bathroom had both a shower and a spa tub, and they provided hand soap, shampoo/body wash, aromatic scents for the spa, and a hairdryer. As for the service, both the owner and his wife were incredibly warm and attentive! Any issues we had were resolved immediately; their speed was impressive! At just over 400 RMB per night booked through Ctrip, it was truly excellent value for money, far better than those run-down, outdated star-rated hotels! The half-star deduction is for the slightly weak water pressure in the shower, but after returning from the hot springs, a quick rinse is all you need, so it didn't bother us much. Next time we come for the hot springs, we will definitely choose to stay here again.

Here's what I loved about this place: 1. **Immersive Farm Experience:** From the moment we checked in, we were given food to feed the alpacas. Stepping out of our room, we were greeted by a large lawn where four gentle alpacas and a little lamb roamed leisurely. Our kids spent the entire afternoon feeding the animals – it was incredibly therapeutic! Waking up, we could open the window and watch alpacas grazing. In the evening, sitting on the patio as the sunset painted the grass was an absolutely unique and magical atmosphere. 2. **Private Cabins with All the Comforts:** All units are standalone cabins, each with its own private entrance and yard. There's a dedicated free parking spot right at the door, making luggage handling and parking super convenient. The rooms were spotless and brand new, equipped with AC, heating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a smart TV. Each unit also boasts a full kitchen with all the pots, pans, and utensils you could need, so buying groceries and cooking your own meals is a breeze. Perfect for both short and long stays. The bedding was soft, and the double-glazed windows provided excellent sound insulation – at night, all we heard were birds and the wind, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful sleep. 3. **Kid-Friendly & Stress-Free for Parents:** The property features a huge outdoor play area with a trampoline, swings, and a sandpit slide, allowing kids to burn off energy while parents can relax on the patio. The host is Chinese, so communication in Mandarin was seamless. They were incredibly helpful with small things like needing a travel adapter or extra daily essentials, paying attention to every detail. 4. **Perfect Location: Secluded Yet Convenient:** Just a 6-minute drive from the city center, it's quiet and peaceful without the city noise. Yet, it's incredibly close to all the main attractions: Skyline Gondola, Te Puia Māori Village, ZORB, and Agrodome Farm are all within a 1-3 minute drive. No need to rush in the mornings to get to your activities, perfectly balancing tranquility with travel convenience.

CNXiedashuaigeneHere's what I loved about this place: 1.

Room is good and there was a pool. The shared bathroom is toooooo tiny. Parking is $10 if you drive. Didn’t go to the kitchen. Location is great close to everything but bathroom was the only problem.

Large room with comfortable beds. Good sized bathroom and outdoor spa excellent despite the rain. Close to busstop and just across the road from Woolies and various eateries. Close to Skyline (a must do) and Mitai Maori Village. Very helpful staff. Great value for money. Would be very happy to stay here again.
