This resort is located in Rawai, and it’s a great choice if you’re looking to stay away from the chaos of Patong. We booked a room with direct pool access, and it was absolutely worth it, especially in Thailand’s warm weather. We also really enjoyed the fresh coconut juice and mango sticky rice from the small kiosk just outside the hotel. It’s very convenient, with a convenience store nearby as well perfect for quick snacks. The beach area has a lovely atmosphere, especially the chairs under the trees, which make for a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy the view. However, swimming isn’t ideal as the water is a bit murky. It also seemed like some drainage from nearby resorts flows directly into the sea, which was disappointing.

For the latter half of our trip to Phuket, we switched to the Marina Phuket Resort, nestled between Kata and Karon beaches. Firstly, this hotel boasts a traditional Thai style, built on a hillside with a rich tropical rainforest vibe. Strolling through the grounds feels like being immersed in a romantic jungle. The architecture is distinctly Thai, and the landscaping offers beautiful scenery at every turn. What truly stands out is that the rear of the hotel connects directly to Karon Beach. Come sunset, gazing out at the horizon, the crimson twilight merges with the sea, waves caress the golden sand, and the dark cliff rocks add to a stunning, unparalleled view. You can walk along the soft, fine sand or enjoy playing in the water – it's perfect. Next door, there's a restaurant that hosts fireworks and fire-breathing shows in the evenings, so if your timing is right, you can enjoy them for free. Secondly, the hotel's service is generally attentive and gentle, very much in the Thai style – perfect for a relaxed, slow-paced vacation. Guests receive complimentary dinner daily at the Red Chopsticks restaurant right outside, offering a fusion of cuisines that's pretty decent. Breakfast is served by the pool, though the selection isn't extensive. Finally, I personally feel this hotel is better suited for older families or couples seeking a quiet retreat. For families with young children, there aren't many play areas, and due to its hillside location, it might be inconvenient for the elderly to move around.

We had a street-facing room this time, and the noise from motorcycles and tuk-tuks at night was so loud we couldn't sleep. If you're considering this hotel and are sensitive to noise, definitely avoid the street-facing rooms. The common areas are small, and the lobby was hot with no air conditioning. The staff lacked a service-oriented mindset; no one offered to help with luggage, and the restaurant staff were casually chatting amongst themselves. The room decor was a retro nightclub style, which I guess is a matter of personal taste.

Here's my honest review! Overall: Recommended. Pros: 1. The hotel is relatively new, and the interior, including the very popular rooftop pool, is beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing. 2. The room type I booked was very large and spacious, with a separate refrigerator and counter, which was very comfortable. 3. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with a wide range of options. It's served until 11 AM, making it perfect for those who want to sleep in and have brunch, or wake up early, take photos and swim at the pool, and then enjoy breakfast. 4. It's an adults-only hotel, which is ideal for guests like me who prefer not to deal with noisy children during their vacation. The entire hotel is very quiet. 5. There's a Let's Relax spa located within the hotel, which is very convenient. Cons: 1. The large slope at the entrance is genuinely steep. I'd read about it in other reviews, but didn't truly grasp it until I saw it (please refer to the attached photos). It's incredibly strenuous, and you definitely can't walk up it with luggage. 2. After going down the slope, it's not far to the beach and 7-Eleven, but it's quite a distance from the commercial area of Kata Beach, making it feel rather secluded. In summary, this hotel is a great choice for those who prefer new facilities, enjoy a quiet hotel stay, and like leisurely beach walks. However, it's not suitable for those who want immediate access to shopping, or prefer a lively nightlife with bars.

The hotel is a bit dated. Although the common areas use central air conditioning, our smaller room had an individual AC unit. It was incredibly noisy, making it hard to sleep, and definitely needs replacing. Breakfast was decent, and the hotel's overall environment was okay. However, try to avoid the side near the corridor, as there's an unfinished building that looks quite eerie. There are two Thai restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel entrance, one to the left and one to the right. The one on the left is better and accepts WeChat Pay, though it charges a 3% service fee. We chose this hotel mainly for its proximity to the airport, as we had a Similan Islands day trip scheduled for the next day. Staying here allowed us to wake up at least an hour later than if we had stayed at beaches like Patong. We also noticed many flight attendants staying at the hotel during breakfast.

The pool water was very clean, and being on the 7th floor with no obstructions, the view was excellent. The room was super spacious and very clean, with all the sofas and chairs looking brand new. The front desk staff were very friendly during check-in and even offered welcome drinks. The only downside was the breakfast. Although it's served until 10:30 AM, by a little past 9 AM, almost all the food trays were empty. There were only 2-3 trays with a small amount of food left. I walked around and couldn't find anything to eat, which was quite disappointing. Eventually, a staff member brought me a plate of stir-fried rice noodles, which at least filled me up. This was the first time in decades of traveling that I've encountered such a breakfast situation. We stayed for two nights, and the breakfast on the second day was only slightly better, still feeling like leftovers. It's also quite close to the King Power Duty-Free Shop.

This hotel is truly beautiful. You can go clamming right outside your room and we saw so many sea cucumbers. A big thank you to Breas at the front desk for their incredibly warm service. They made sure we had plenty of water and amenities. During our stay, they'd always greet me warmly and ask how my stay was, even calling the room to check if everything was to our satisfaction. We stayed at two hotels, and the service here was by far superior. The scenery is also breathtaking; every photo you take looks like it belongs in a magazine. We're planning to come back and stay here again next year for a few days. My whole family raved about it the entire time! 👍 There are also small animals to feed, and the staff there were equally enthusiastic. They'd always approach us to give us food and guide us on how to feed the animals. Our child loved spending a long time there each visit. It's a shame we didn't book the restaurant in advance. We'd planned to have our anniversary dinner by the sea, but there were no tables left. If you're going, remember to book the night before!

Located near the airport, which can be seen as both a pro and a con. The pros: you save time on travel. It's beachfront, with good sea and beach during high season. The grounds are constantly cleaned, plants are trimmed, and everything is tidied and watered. The staff are friendly and do everything to ensure your comfort. My stay was during the low season, but the staff's meticulous care for the grounds and the high level of service were evident, which was a pleasant surprise. The area is large and green. The room is nice and spacious, with all necessities provided. There are many children's activities on site, though not all of them were operating during the low season. Breakfasts are standard, nothing fancy. Nearby, there are cafes, massage parlors, and small shops. There are also cons. The direct proximity to the airport – the hotel grounds end and the airport begins. If you are sensitive to noise and seek relaxation and quiet, this is not the place for you. Planes are constantly taking off, and the noise from the jet engines is inescapable. There is a break at night and it becomes quiet, but not for long. They say you get used to it and stop noticing, but for me, 1.5 days was enough; I doubt I could stay longer. I'm giving it good stars because the downsides are purely my personal feeling and perspective.

Five-star review! We stayed in a family room on the first floor. It's inevitable for it to be a bit humid, but that's really due to the local climate and weather, so I don't think the room's orientation or floor made much of a difference. We were right next to the kids' pool, so we could just open the door and walk out – super convenient! With one king bed and a bunk bed, it was absolutely perfect and comfortable for a family of four! As for the hotel environment, it's very spacious. Although the breakfast leaned towards Western style, they had local noodles and soups that tasted great. Enjoying some bread and jam with black tea and coffee was also a nice touch. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, and the room cleaning was prompt – very good. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money. Both adults and kids could spend a whole day in the pool, and the two big waterslides were even better! Karon Beach is just a right turn out of the hotel, and there are many hidden gem restaurants nearby. Plus, there are two 7-Elevens right outside, and you absolutely have to visit Thailand's 7-Elevens multiple times a day! And for durian, you'll definitely be full! There are a few stalls at the 7-Eleven intersection, where we found the long-stemmed, sticky kind. The Monthong durian near the Karon roundabout, just a short taxi ride away, was also delicious!

I had a wonderful stay at Graceland Resort—I can’t be any happier. I arrived pretty late at night, and all I asked for was a nice, quiet room. The front desk lady Jenny at that time of night was incredibly considerate and sweet .She upgraded me to a pool room, and I truly appreciate that. Also, there was a lovely cleaning lady Kanyakorn who cleaned me room every day and was very attentive and pleasant , she let me borrowed the iron exceptionally longer period of time😅Overall, I felt taken care of and very welcomed. The service and hospitality were excellent. The breakfast was okay—I’d rate it about 6.7 out of 10—but the hotel itself is beautiful. It has a couple of pools and it’s right on the beach, with many restaurants around. Hotel got a small gym as well which is good enough for few days workout and oh yes they offer complimentary half an hour morning trainings as well which was nice . I also remember a v kind gesture from them i ordered late night food and they forgot to deliver to bring and on being reminded the food and beverage manager felt terribly sorry and wanted to send free meal next day which wasn’t needed for me so I declined politely but they were so sweet they still ended up sending a fruit platter to room.In all , with such great hospitality, I would definitely come back to the hotel. Customer service was awfully wonderful.

The studio apartment is very spacious, featuring a kitchen-living room, a bedroom, a separate bathroom with a walk-in closet, and 3 air conditioners. The room is equipped with a microwave, a stove, a capsule coffee machine, and cooking utensils. Housekeeping is every two days, but it's best to remind the reception. Beach towels are provided in the room and are replaced during cleaning. There are two buildings and several pools on the property. Guests can use the shuttles from the Laguna area, and there's also a transfer service to Patong. A boat transports guests to the beach every 20 minutes from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 7 PM. You can also take another boat to cruise around the Laguna. On the beach, there are complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as a toilet and shower. Small stalls selling drinks, food, and corn are right on the beach. Stand-up paddleboard rentals are available nearby. The breakfasts are good, offering vegetables, fruits, cheese, pastries, a kids' table, yogurts, an egg station, coffee, beverages, and much more.

This hotel truly lives up to its reputation among Chinese travelers. I booked a direct pool access room and, before arriving, I was worried about insects on the ground floor, even bringing insect repellent. To my surprise, I didn't see a single bug. The bathroom was a bit dated, not as bright and new-looking as in the pictures. Breakfast was mostly Western fare. As for service, the cleaning staff on the first day were excellent, but on the second and third days, it was a different person who seemed grumpy. The biggest downside is the poor soundproofing. Every night around 11 PM, staff would push what sounded like a cleaning cart up and down the first floor, making a huge racket. Everything else was good; I didn't experience any discrimination, and they proactively helped with luggage. The location was also convenient.

Our stay at the Kata Thani Bhuri Wing's family room was an absolute delightful surprise for our family trip to Phuket – the experience was simply outstanding! As soon as we entered, our child was captivated by the room. The bunk beds, designed like a submarine, were incredibly playful, and the entire wall featured an ocean-themed 3D decoration with dynamic blue lighting, making it feel like stepping into an underwater world. Our child immediately claimed it as their secret hideout, spending the whole day playing in their little space. The room layout perfectly understood the needs of families with children; the kids' play area and the adult bedroom were separated by a soft partition. This allowed us to relax and watch shows in the master bedroom while our child played independently, ensuring privacy yet still being able to keep an eye on them. The space was bright and never felt cramped. The most amazing feature was the direct pool access from the balcony! In the evening, we'd put on our swimsuits and step right into the crystal-clear pool from our balcony. The row of macaron-colored resort buildings, outlined by warm lights, and palm tree shadows dancing on the shimmering water, created a truly relaxing atmosphere with the island breeze – even the breeze exuded a sense of laid-back vacation. The bathroom facilities were also thoughtfully designed. The large, standalone bathtub was perfect for soaking away the day's fatigue from looking after the child, and the wet and dry areas were clean and well-separated. All the facilities were new, without any of the wear and tear you'd expect from an older hotel. The hotel's public pool area was incredibly family-friendly, with clearly defined shallow and deep sections, and plenty of lounge chairs and shaded spots everywhere, so we could rest whenever we got tired from playing. The staff would proactively greet the children and offer small cups of iced water, providing thoughtful yet discreet service throughout our stay. This was the first time I felt no fatigue whatsoever during a family trip with my child; it was truly a 'lie flat' parenting experience. We will definitely come back to this family-friendly hotel on our next trip to Phuket, and I highly recommend it to all families vacationing with children!

Overall, my stay at the Bamby Resort in Kata Beach, Phuket, was quite good. The hotel's style is reminiscent of a Middle Eastern desert, which is unique. The staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, always greeting guests with a smile, which made for a very pleasant experience. The hotel's location is also excellent; it's surrounded by shops, and Patong Beach is just a 5-minute walk away, with various international restaurants and 7-Eleven stores along the way. Cleanliness was generally fine. The only minor downsides were that the soundproofing wasn't great, and I wish the breakfast selection had been a bit more diverse. Despite that, it was a good experience overall!

It must be tough for the staff to work all day in such hot weather without air conditioning. The room isn't very large and lacks a balcony, which feels like a bit of a wasted design. The decor seems relatively new, with a modern business style. The facilities are about 80% new, and the environment is quite bright, unlike many Thai-style rooms that tend to be darker. The air conditioning is powerful, and they thoughtfully leave a key card in the slot so the AC stays on when you're out, making it very comfortable to return to a cool room. The hotel breakfast is excellent, and both the service and the food reflect Accor's standards. The operational level of an international chain is indeed a bit higher than independent resorts. When you sit down, a server asks if you'd like coffee or tea and brings it to your table; the coffee quality is quite good. There's an area with Indian-style cuisine; I'm not sure if it rotates or if it's always an Indian specialty. There are also things like fresh-squeezed juices and smoked salmon, which are not typically found in regular resort breakfasts. The hotel's location is about a ten-minute walk to the beach if you take the small path next to Hard Rock, and fifteen minutes to Jungceylon, which is neither too far nor too close. Along the road to Jungceylon, there are numerous massage parlors with many young, scantily clad masseuses sitting by the roadside – adults will understand. The sidewalks are also very narrow, so you often have to walk through crowds of them. If you have children, you might want to consider the potential psychological impact on them.

Let's start with the positives: the staff at the front desk, room service, and restaurant guides were all smiling, helpful, and greeted everyone warmly. Now for the negatives: The room we stayed in this time was actually quite small; with two people and two pieces of luggage, it felt a bit cramped. We stayed in Building 2 this time. When checking in, I told the front desk about a previous stay (in a suite in Building 3) where the balcony faced a huge, noisy air conditioning unit from next door, making it impossible to sleep, and asked to avoid a similar room. However, every room in Building 2 this time had individual AC units, not central air, and the main issue was that the AC blew directly onto the bed! I managed to sleep the first night, but woke up in the middle of the night from the cold. On the second night, there was nothing I could do to block it, so I had to grab the hotel's bathrobe to use as a makeshift wind deflector. Moreover, when the AC blew downwards, the whole room would warm up, but when it blew directly, the temperature would drop. No wonder the room also came with a fan (another room on the 7th floor). The room design felt very makeshift and lacked the thoughtful hotel ambiance: although it did create a lush atmosphere (with green plants everywhere and numerous seedlings for photo opportunities). Because I didn't sleep comfortably, I probably won't consider staying here again.

The five pools are great, especially the 4.5m deep diving pool where both adults and kids can enjoy diving. The hotel is quiet and private with no unwanted disturbances. It's also very close to Nai Harn Beach. Cons: The room was a bit damp; even with the air conditioning on 24/7, the bed still felt damp. The bedding was quite simple. I had requested a king-size bed but still received a twin bed pushed together. The pools close at 7 PM. The up-and-down terrain offers a bit of exploration fun, but it's mostly tiring, especially when you forget something and have to go back to your room. There's ongoing construction nearby, and the closest convenience store and restaurant are a 500m walk away.

The room pictures showed a sea view, but when I arrived, I was told it was only a partial sea view and was given a room really far from the ocean, surrounded by mountains. Every time I needed to go up or down the mountain, I had to take a taxi, which was expensive here. They have a shuttle service to go down the mountain, but you have to taxi back up yourself. The mountain is super high, and the room had bugs and ants that bit me in many places, causing an allergic reaction. Every time I rode up the mountain, I was on edge. The breakfast wasn't good either, and all the hotel service was in English. Most of the guests were white, and there was no Chinese service. I booked for two nights, and they charged me 800 yuan in taxes. The transfer service was good and polite, but the front desk service was very mediocre and seemed to cater heavily to Westerners! I didn't feel very comfortable personally (I'm sensitive to these things).

Let's start with the positives: The overall all-inclusive experience at this Marriott Merlin Beach was quite good. The location is a bit quiet, though, and a distance from the bustling Patong area, so you'll need a taxi to go out. Although the rooms are old, they are clean and perfect for families looking for a relaxing holiday. Downsides: The room had a slight musty smell. Service: Check-in was at 3:30 PM. At check-in, we were told we could continue to use the all-inclusive dining for an hour after check-out, but at check-out, they said no! My child called to ask for a 1-hour late check-out, and before they could finish explaining why, the person on the phone flat-out said it wasn't possible, regardless of the reason! My child commented that the lady was very stern. The luggage had to be brought to the car ourselves; the concierge just watched us load the car, pretending not to see us and offering no help with our bags (my child had prepared a tip, but we didn't end up giving it). After a four-night stay, this is our honest review. We probably won't be returning next time; the service just doesn't measure up.

We put a lot of thought into choosing our hotel and were so glad we picked the Sawasdee in the end. As soon as you step in from the street, you enter a completely different world. The grounds are beautifully designed – so much greenery and water. Especially in the dark, when everything is wonderfully lit up – just stunning. We had a room with pool access, which was very pleasant. The rooms were spacious and everything was clean. The housekeeping staff were truly working from morning until evening. Breakfast was also excellent. There was something for everyone. You could have scrambled eggs or an omelet freshly prepared. A huge thank you to the lady who made our mornings so delightful every day. There was also fruit and warm Thai dishes, French toast, pancakes – I can't even list everything. Our special thanks also go to the bellboys. They always had a kind word for us, joked around, and gave us tips. We can't praise the entire staff enough. It was truly a unique experience and hopefully not our last. One more thing comes to mind. We had to leave very early due to our schedule and received a wonderful packed lunch. Thank you for that too. Keep up the great work. You can tell you all enjoy your jobs.

As for the Shimmer restaurant within the hotel, there's one waitress who seems to have a split personality. Her demeanor and attitude towards white guests and Asian guests are completely different. White guests are allowed to use the beach loungers just by ordering a drink, but when I wanted to, I was told I had to spend a minimum of 3000 Baht. Her attitude was also very poor, almost as if she was interrogating a criminal. The service from everyone else, though, was quite good and friendly.
