"The place definitely has big potential. The beach front villa is absolutely beautiful! Spacious and beautifully designed, decorated rooms, garden and private swimming pool didn't want us to leave the property. Before arrival, I read several reviews of hygiene and cleaning issues. I emailed the reservation centre to make sure hygiene was our priority and ensure that all the staff wear masks and follow SOP. When we arrived at the reception, we were shocked that one of the reception staff approached us without even carrying a mask. Most staff were wearing masks under the chin or their noses were not covered. I raised the issue with Azian and they were better when we were around them only. Our private villa was gorgeous. Cleaning was not an issue. Second day, cleaning didn’t need to be done much. The third , fourth, the last days, 2 Housekeeping staff spent less than 15 mins to clean the whole villa? Nothing much done. The villa itself is over 2000sq.ft. They didn't even clean the toilet bowl on the last day. Dishes, silverwares for days were still there. Most of staff were very friendly. Overall, we really enjoyed our holiday. I would like to say special thanks to Chef Billy. He was magic. I had special dietary requests and he accommodated everything I asked for. I ordered pretty much the same dishes for 5 days but his side dishes were all different and I felt like I ate different dishes everyday. They were creative, healthy and delicious. We would love to come back! "
"This hotel has been on my bucket list for a while but I was extremely disappointed. We’ve stayed at 5 start hotels many times, but this was absolutely below average although the price was above average for a 5 star hotel. I would really have liked to have given this hotel a good review as it does have potential, but I won’t be returning unless they step up their game. Starting with the GOOD: * Great food. Both breakfast and dinner are delicious. Whether you’re eating Continental or Malay food. Compliments to the chef(s)! * Comfortable beds * Kind staff Now for the BAD: * DIRTY! Our first villa (we complained and were moved) was very dusty not only on the floor but also in cupboards. There was black dust on paintings and under couches and cobwebs in dark places. Not what you want after 5 hours in the car. * Furniture was dirty and we even found a chicken bone our the sundeck 😱 Also the bedding had brown stains on it. The windows had also not been cleaned. This was in the second villa. * Pool was murky, even after 24 hours of our stay and repeated mention to the staff. * Toilet paper was not replenished. * The outside area is littered. We found paper towels, empty bottles and even a knife in the area in front of the villa. * We had to ask for most things twice before they were done. * The spa was just OK but not what you expect from a 5-start hotel. Masseuse was grumpy and curt. ! Note: BOOK ON LINE if you want to get the hotel offer! I called the hotel, and asked if they had an offer, which they did. The reservations lady offered to make the booking for me. Only after payment did I realize she hadn’t given me the “stay 2 nights get one free” offer price but had charged me the full price. I felt a bit cheated and when I asked the hotel about this, they said I should have booked on line as the hotel itself doesn’t have offers, only their third party booking agent 😡. After much discussion, they did give me one night credit. "
"We stayed in an Oceanview suite and the architecture was amazing. The breakfast was about the best ever, maybe because it’s a `boutique’ resort: freshly undiluted squeezed juice, not from jars left standing as in nearly all 5-star hotels, limited but exquisite selection of delicious food, e.g. nasi dagang, a local delicacy, and even freshly baked Muesli bread. The menu and the tasty food is unmatched in high-end resorts and the staff were amazing especially Emma. However, the suite could have done with a more professional cleaning and maintenance: popcorn left over from previous guests were under the sofa (photo), the sliding door track was full of lizard droppings(photo). We dreaded having a shower: hot water was spotty and water from our shower splashed into the toilet area flooding the whole bathroom. The water took a long time to dry and we had to endure getting our feet wet each time we used the toilet. Also parts of the bathroom-toilet floor was caked with dirt (photo). The whole suite looked shabby compared to the beautifully appointed unused communal lounge downstairs (photo). The bed sagged and the sofa had ugly multi-coloured cushions with faded/synthetic covering. The aircon temperature was fixed centrally giving us no way to adjust it and the 23 C cold air blew directly over the bed. There is no real beach to speak off as it is blocked off by a stone wall and not far from the Kasturi a backhoe was working on another wall puffing out diesel smoke"

"We visited the Cherating Beach area at a very quiet time. According to one of the hotels we spoke to, weekdays in early July are very quiet. We planned to book when we arrived and the first hotel we tried looked deserted. Casa Titik was our next choice. It had a very pleasant feeling to it when we walked in. On our first night in Casa Titik we were the only guests though there were a few more on Tuesday night. We liked it so much that after staying one night we booked to stay a second. Casa Titik is a Spanish inspired bed and breakfast guesthouse. There are ten rooms on spacious grounds. We had an upstairs bedroom off a wide veranda with a balcony which was clean and painted in bright fresh colours. There was no daily housekeeping.. The credit card payment machine is subject to outages so we ended paying cash. On the other hand, staff were very pleasant and rang up Hafiz’s to book our tours. They also arranged for a laundry service at a reasonable rate. Wifi and air conditioning worked well. The tiled bathroom had a laundry line to hang clothes on (e.g. bathers) and the shower recess prevented water from getting all over the bathroom. Breakfast is supplied daily in the open dining room and you book your hot food (either Malay or Western style) the night before. However, chilled water, coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice, toast and cereal are available in the dining area for guests to help themselves. There is a microwave and bread toaster. There are several nooks and sitting areas around the guesthouse. The grounds are quite large and well maintained. The pool complex in the lawn consists of two pools (three if you count a small spa section) which was also well maintained, very clean and relaxing. There were showers for rinsing off and a handy toilet. The lounge chairs were very modern and comfortable. We had two peaceful comfortable pool sessions. We also really liked the direct beach access from Casa Titik. We went for long walks on an almost deserted beach. A lovely experience."
"We had a gathering with our friends at casa titik. We booked the whole villa- 10 rooms. The villa had a dining area, swimming pool, open space for kids to run around, very near to the beach and there was also a horse stable nearby. The room was good, it had all the basic amenities, clean and comfortable. What we loved most about the villa is the dining area which was really near to the swimming pool. It was very easy to monitor our kids swimming while also having fun with our friends. The open space was also very good. Our kids played soccer, games and so much more. There were also some sheep and goat that came by. We also booked for meals at the villa. Overall, the food tasted ok. It was very convenient to us since we get to enjoy more time together with our friends. The beach nearby the villa was also good. We really had a superb gathering at casa titik and would consider the place in the future."
"The place is very nice and lovely. There are goats, turkey ,chicken and horses. The beach is private and we enjoyed walking at the beach. The room is spacious and clean but the aircon is not cool at all. The room has smoky scent and our shirts all have that smell after we had left the room. There were some guests that used the pool to dip their feet and also swim with full clothes on. They were not aware that the cotton and other materials(not swimming attire) may hold bacteria and germs in them and hence contaminate the pool. However, the worst part about our stay is the air pollution. About 1AM, i woke up to the smell of something burning. It was so bad that I can smell it from the door. Although we closed all the windows and doors, we can still smell the open burning in our room!i can’t sleep at all. Initially, we booked to stay for 2 nights but we had to check out the next day. The location is very near to MCKIP-the industrial park and the receptionist told us that it has been like this for the last 2 months! Every night, there is open burning. And last i checked the open burning caused fire in the 420hectar of the forest about 8KM from casa titik on 25 Apr 2019. This is a beautiful place but the irresponsible act of the culprit that burn the forest for land clearing/industrial has tarnished the beauty of the surroundings and also cost major health issues to the locals."
