The hotel was really friendly, clean, and comfortable, and the location made it super easy to get around. The staff were nice and helpful throughout my stay. I really liked this place and hope I’ll have the chance to come back next time.

Very nice and the host is very nice

This was my third stay at the Marriott Markham, and its location is very convenient with many Chinese restaurants nearby. The hotel's decor is quite new and modern, and the rooms are spacious enough with large beds, making for an overall comfortable experience. The front desk staff were excellent, very polite and enthusiastic. However, this time I noticed that the room cleaning wasn't meticulous enough, with dust in many spots that hadn't been properly cleaned. The room's view was also very poor, looking directly at the apartment building across the street and the driveway below. Being on a low floor made it feel quite oppressive. The parking lot is in the building across the street, which is a bit inconvenient, and it costs $20 per day. Despite these points, I would still highly recommend it overall; it's one of the newer hotels in Markham.

Hotel is located quite centrally to places we need to visit. Supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Love the complimentary breakfast and the self serve laundry is critical for the long trip. Second time staying here this time and will surely come again.

I have spent 14 days in this hotel. Good: 1) The room is pretty spacious 2) Quite lot of parking space (can't reserve it but i never see it full during my stay). 3) Free breakfast of reasonable quality. You can also bring it to hotel room if you want. 4) There are quite a few restaurants in five minutes walk. 5) There is coin-based laundary with dryers on 2nd floor. And you can change coins on the front desk if you don't have. 6) There is a small swimming pool and a gym. 7) The building is not very new but they have renovated it. e.g., The TV in the room is a big flat screen. 7) The room is generally clean. They offer housekeeping service every other day. 8) The room is equipped with stove, oven, microwave, dish washer, bowls, cups, knife and chopping boards. Basically all utensils for cooking are ready. Nitpicks: 1) The air conditioner is a bit noisy but it is ok for me 2) The socket for TV are broken when I got in. But they have fixed it in a few hours by laying some extension cords around the room so it's considered ok 3) The mattress of the double bed is not pocketed 4) Some minor issues on the elevators sometimes it stayed on the original floor, instead of moving to the target floor (I encountered twice) 5) The bleach of the swimming pool is a bit strong I always got red eyes for a few hours after swimming.

The service was good overall. I like that it provides enough parking spaces. Just a few things: 1. there was no conditioner in the bottle. 2. no slippers provided. 3. Water was dripping from the faucet of the shower, even I tried hard to turn it off.

Great chain, never disappoint. Free breakfast, tea & coffee. Staffs very courteous. This particular Hampton Inn just been refurbished. Didn't give full marks because someone knocked at our door at 11:04 asking if we are checking out when I just used the app to check out.

Overall, my stay was quite disappointing due to several maintenance, comfort, and service issues that significantly affected the experience. The air conditioning was not functioning properly. There was no proper fan speed adjustment, and only one vent in the room and hallway. Because the thermostat was positioned directly under the vent, it kept switching off frequently, leaving the room uncomfortably warm at night and making it difficult to sleep. To make things worse, the hotel conducted their annual fire alarm testing over two full days during business hours with frequent on-and-off alarms. After long hours of travel, this made it very difficult to rest or sleep properly. After I complained, they offered to move me to another floor; however, that floor was also scheduled for the same testing in the coming days. Later, they only provided a courtesy letter. The kettle in the room was in poor condition with heavy calcium deposits, and when used, particles were floating in the water, making it unhygienic and unusable. In the bathroom, the power point was not working, which added inconvenience. The main rotary entrance doors were also not functioning consistently and were often switched off, which felt unprofessional for a hotel of this standard. There was no bellboy available on arrival. I had to bring a trolley myself and unload my luggage from the taxi. At night, there was noticeable water dripping and drainage noise, which disturbed sleep. Breakfast was very limited with basic options and lacked variety. Overall, the building feels very old and poorly maintained, and several areas need urgent attention to improve guest comfort and service quality.
