Note it’s not ‘almost an hotel’ but ‘an ‘almost’ hotel’ by that I mean things are ‘almost’ perfect - but not quite. The car park is a faff to get into, two gates entered via a clicker available from reception on a parallel street. The spaces are small and very fiddly to get anything bigger than a Fiat 500 into. OK, I missed the part about the entry code being on one of the pieces of paper given to me but why is it needed in the first place? The room we had was classed as a ‘Junior Suite’ actually just a family room with three beds. The main shower, an over bath variety, so not easy for a less than nimble wife, was just a small shower head set in the wall producing a pretty pathetic spray, ok there was a hand held head as well. Just one tea bag and coffee sachet for each person but with really nice china cups but cheap, thin plastic water cups. Air Con set at 24c and, as far as I could make out, not adjustable, It sounded like a 747 on take off, all night, and did nothing to lower the room’s temperature. Breakfast was just about OK, but very unremarkable in an overcrowded restaurant where the tables were jammed together, cheek by jowl. So, nothing horrible, just a hotel that ‘almost’ makes its 4 star classification - almost but not quite.

This hotel is right across the road from the station so very convenient for an overnight on journey north. Our room was on the small side, but had everything needed. Our shower was very powerful. Yes, you had to get into the bath for it, but neither the bath or floor were slippery which helped. Space to put things. Appreciated the limited tea and coffee facilities in the room. Our small balcony overlooked the beautiful station building. Went to the bar for a drink before dinner, the staff were finishing a break, but were happy to serve us. Dinner was part of our group package and was possibly the best meal we had on our holiday. Chicken was tender and tasty, my husband had the salmon which was beautifully cooked. The chocolate mousse was to die for. Breakfast was equally good. Then only a couple of minutes to the train. The walk to the town gave a flavour of a small French town.

Wife and I were here for 2 nights in Nov. The hotel was located just 2 blocks from the train station. It was an easy straight walk to get here. Our check in process was friendly and simple. We were given a wonderfully decorated room with plenty of space. Our room was clean and comfortable, bathroom amenities were pretty good with a nice hair dryer. WiFi worked great through out our stay. From the hotel we were able to walk to everything we needed to see in Colmar. There was also a Monoprix just about a 6 minute walk from the hotel which was convenient. The kitchen area serves all day drinks that was included (coffee & tea) which was nice. The kitchen also has plenty of plates and cups and utensils which we used every night to have dinner. Staffs were all masked up and they checked our Pass Sanitaire. We were here during the time when there were Xmas Market shuttles for all the small towns around Colmar leaving from in front of the train station. We utilized it for Equisheim and Turckheim. Breakfast was wonderful here every morning with lots of options. The hotel was pricey, I am glad the price matched the amenities and services. The hotel kept saying they didn't pre-charge me for the tourist tax before hand. but no matter what I do to convert the charges that was charged 6 days before arrival. The prices just don't line up, and it was roughly the 5 Euros tourist tax. I paid it anyways since 5 Euros isn't worth the time to argue. When we got home, my bank told me the total price in Euros they charged which included the tourist tax. So, I suppose they over charged me by 5 Euros, oh well. Somewhere there was either a mistake or miscommunication. Overall it was a wonderful hotel and we had 2 great night sleep. We will be back again.

The house is quite good. It is about ten minutes walk from the train station. But the double bed is not very big. The two people are slightly crowded. The room is not air-conditioned. Although the windows are not facing the train station, there is still a lot of noise. When we go, it’s cloudy, it’s raining, it’s cool, it’s cool, it’s closed, the window is good, summer is not clear, but it’s not important. Really beautiful, still want to go

Eguisheim is a very beautiful town. It’s just a short drive from Colmar. It’s basically only French tourists. It’s very friendly. The hotel is very beautiful. This season, heating is the warmest. The residence, the hotel and its own restaurant, tried a very authentic French meal, it is not expensive, highly recommended

I had been to Eguisheim before, and had stayed at a local BnB, which was basic, but lived up to its expectations. This time around, my girlfriend and I came down for a few days of reprieve and chose this hotel on its reviews, pricing and charming interior. However, upon arrival we were directed towards a room in which it was impossible to sleep and relax, as builders started drilling literally next door before 9 am. Naturally, we were immediately given a replacement room, but why on earth would you charge people for accommodation that does not live up to a basic need, i.e. silence? What bothered us more was the casual apology and lack of compensation as we - quite visibly tired and frustrated - presented ourselves at the reception. At least treat your guests to a complimentary breakfast or lunch to show some empathy/common courtesy. Other sources of discontent include lack of friendliness at the reception and the fact that we found our room untouched after a long day, while we had clearly left a sign requesting cleaning. No way to do business, really. We expect better from a professional guesthouse, and especially outside of the busy season.

The location is moderate, and it is nine minutes away from the train station, turn left and walk about nine minutes to Colmar attractions. This two-star hotel is ok. I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews. I was worried for a long time before I traveled. The infrastructure here is complete, the bathrooms are not small, there are air-conditioning and a small balcony. The only disadvantage is that it is close to the railway, and the sound of the train passing by is not small. But basically it can be ignored, because there are basically no night trains in France.
Can move in!

The location is convenient, close to the station. First go by train. It is easy to find when you leave the last station, go left and show the map and ask for the (hotel) address. The rooms are tidy and the sheets and towels are clean. This hotel does not provide water. Another hotel provides guests with one or two kettles.
