"Grand probably sets the expectations a bit high, but this is a good hotel which has clean small and basic rooms and a hard working staff of whom there don't seem to be enough. Our room looked out over the harbour which was nice, but the rooms are just for sleeping in really, so no where to sit and take it all in. Breakfast was very good and the walk into town easy and pleasant from where you can hop on a ferry and eat out in La Maddelena if you like as it's a much nicer town then Palau. There is paid parking. The free parking outside the hotel gets a bit hairy if you arrive late! Our room had a view over the harbour, but "
"Been there for 4 nights in July. It is a great value for the money we spent. It had everything we needed. Friendly staff, nice room, parking was always available, early breakfast and rooms were very clean. Majority in the hotel were couples, which formed quite a homogeneous atmosphere. "

Loc. Micalosu, Arzachena, Sardinia, Italy
"Me and my Friends stayed a week in May in this lovely hotel which is really charming. Clean and comfortable accommodation set in a beautiful well kept garden area. Visitors can enjoy the quiet Italian country-style area which is beautiful. I celebrated my birthday there and I was nicely surprised by the genuinely friendly and attentive hospitality from the Hotel management and staff. I would like to mention Tina and Simona, they are both made our stay really enjoyable and memorable. I can highly recommend this Hotel. Anita"
"We stayed a whole week at hotel Micalosu which was too long. Location is nice, with nice views from the terrace of the restaurant. The room was very small and the bed quite uncomfortable. The wi-fi was not very reliable. The whole place seems quite run down. There were very few shadowy spaces near the pool so we could never stay there longer. Breakfast is ok, but nothing special. We did not eat in the restaurant. All in all not worth the prices they charge. "

Via Bora 8, Strada Panoramica Olbia-Golfo Aranci, Olbia, Sardinia, Italy
"This hotel is definitely 3-star, not 4-star but, with just 42 rooms, it is a delightful haven of peace and tranquillity, with welcoming Reception, Room Service, and Waiter staff. It has very much a traditional feel about it. We stayed in the first half of September and the grounds are very pleasant, with palm trees and flowers, and plenty of sunbeds and fixed umbrellas (helpfully with the attachments which can shade your head if you wish). No issue at all with anyone reserving sunbeds, but this is probably because most residents just head down the road to the private beach area, also with sunbeds and umbrellas, so the hotel and grounds were fairly deserted during the day ! There is a small freshwater pool and a wonderful spa tub with various bubble settings – it’s just wonderful sitting by the pool, late afternoon, with great grounds around you, looking down to the sea. Breakfast is the usual wide spread of teas, coffee, juices, cereals, fresh yoghurt, meats and cheese, cakes, and a small selection of hot food, although often this is near-cold due to only putting 1 tealight under each bain-marie ! So easy to fix – don’t know why they serve this food cold. If you’re half-board then you eat in Nino’s restaurant next door (a large round building) where you have a choice of 3 Primi (including a fresh pasta dish) and 3 Secondi courses (see photos of sample menus), all of which change daily, followed by, often a huge slice of water melon or strawberries or, often, Tiramisu. Nino (the owner who, apparently, created a lobster and spaghetti dish, which attracted famous visitors, and built the hotel, naming it after his daughter) is incredibly visible, throughout most days and the evenings, and takes a hand in all jobs – you get the impression he has a very close eye for detail and drives the standards, which is great to see. Most rooms don’t have balconies, and many face inland not sea-facing, but you can’t really see the sea anyway, unless upstairs. The beach, with private loungers and umbrellas, free if you are half-board, is less than a 5-minute walk down a road from the hotel, and there are 3 bars/restaurants on the beach (the middle one, Mamabeach, is great for late afternoon cocktails or beers and light snacks or meals) – really not busy at all at this time of year. The hotel is not really close to anywhere, including shops, so a car is strongly advised (the free car-park, with loads of space is opposite the hotel), although there is a bus-stop, to Olbia, for only €1.50, less than 100 yds up the road. The rooms are basic and clean, and WiFi coverage is excellent and quick enough (although each code you receive can only be used for two devices, so you have to get another code if you exceed this). There is extensive free parking just across the road, which is really handy if you have a hire care. Would we stay again ? Definitely, for a very leisurely, chilled-out break."
"This is our third visit to Hotel Stefania in three years. We absolutely love staying here and couldn't believe our luck in finding such a gem. We have found the owners and staff to always be extremely friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions, other recommendations, directions, answers to questions, etc. We have greatly enjoyed the ample breakfast that is provided each morning. There is also an excellent restaurant on-site with great menu choices and very attentive and friendly staff. The beach is a two minute walk from the hotel with a section provided for guests. There are three restaurants located on the beach but only two were open in late September. The beach itself is sandy, not rocky, and the water is very easy to swim and snorkel in. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable with good WiFi access (password provided by the front desk). We rent a car for our visit because we like to explore, but the local bus stops about 50 yards from the hotel entrance and will take you to the town center of Olbia, which is great for additional restaurant options and shopping. There is ample free parking for hotel guests. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to our next visit."
"Our third time here and holiday was perfect. Hotel is a fantastic family run hotel. Staff are fantastic all through the hotel from cleaners right up to the top. They just cannot do enough for you. Rooms are great. Food is very good and as yet have never been disappointed. Live Music after dinner with a nice glass of prosecco finishes off every day perfectly. Recently added excursions are great. Boat trip to Tavollara and Jeep Trip to San Pantaleo and Porto Rotondo were fabulous. Trips run by Giuseppe who is very knowledgeable and charming. No trip is the same. Have already booked for next year. We love it here. Aug 2020 Our 4th visit to this wonderful hotel. Top marks for everything. We feel so at home here. The owners and staff uphold the highest regard for the residents. The food never fails to satisfy and is served to you by wonderful waiters who are proud and passionate about their jobs. The whole resort is just so welcoming including the private beach area and lifeguard.. Cannot wait to go back next year. ."

Strada di Buddeo cp 130, Olbia, Sardinia, Italy
"Wow wow wow, what can i say From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the lovely Fabio who showed us around the resort, and then to our beautiful room. What a wonderful surprise, not only a fabulous junior suite, but the most amazing private pool. As we arrived quite late, the chef waited for us and prepared dinner, which was brought to our room which was a fabulous welcome, it was delicious and well needed after the journey When we woke in the morning we could fully appreciate what i can only describe as the most fabulous view ever, and a glorious sunny morning Breakfast was great, lots of choice, but its the views, the calmness, the privacy and the fabulous team that make this place probably the best resort i have ever visited. The staff are wonderful, Izabella was a star, dealing with my reservation from start to finish, answering every question, which included the journey to the resort, up the hill, which she assured me was safe, it was indeed, and was a joy to drive up to this wonderful hotel Barbara again i have to mention, smiley, friendly, funny, and patient when my boyfriend said he wanted her to play led Zeppelin at breakfast instead of simply red, which i told her to ignore! Mirela the lovely housekeeping lady, very hard working, smiley, happy and friendly. In fact every team member that we came across was a joy, really, you can see they love working in this beautiful paradise. As i also work in hotels i understand the challenges of ensuring each and every guest feels special, looked after, rested, and recharged when they leave Well done Petra Segreta.. you have cracked this! We loved every single moment- and would return in a heartbeat and we will.. so so very special, thank you to you all."
"First off, San Pantaleon is a wonderful Italian town. Signs to the resort are plentiful and clear. It is a gated community, which was not important to me, but it does add to the overall experience. Our greeting at check-in was as gracious and attentive as I've experienced. Our room was great with a nice covered porch hidden by vegetation that provided for privacy while reading and enjoying coffee in the morning or a bottle of wine in the evening. The view of Coasta Smeralda is the "selling point" for this resort and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The restaurants (one fine dining, the other bistro) were quite enjoyable. The service was impeccable. The wine list was well chosen with value in the high end Italian vintages along with well-chosen local selections. My wife enjoyed a massage that she is still talking about. We also spent some alone time in the steam room and sauna. My wife and I had a great time."
"Being in the Petra Segreta Luxury Resort & Spa, first during a business trip, I discovered a pearl in the Mediterranean Sea. I could not resist to have a second experience, but then for a relax stay with my wife. Both of us having a unique experience. A particular "bravo" for the personnel, always at your disposal, smiling, and very friendly. As I said, " a unique experience""

"As the rooms are spread over a variety of levels thusit is important to point out that anyone with troublesome mobility problems will be at a distinct disadvantage here as there are very many steps to encounter. The hotel also does not cater for young children. Having said that the hotel has excellent accommodation and most rooms have terraces or balconies that make full use of the panorama view. The staff in reception are most pleasant and very helpful and the in-house restaurant is good. The buffet breakfast offers a wide choice and the waiters are efficient. For dinner ' MiraLuna' offers first class cuisine but is expensive and most people dine here a few times and then try the local restaurants in Cannigione itself which is just over 10 minutes away. The hotel will take your there with their shuttle bus but there will be a charge. The hotel also has a linked restaurant, La Colti, which is cheaper and presents good local Sardinian dishes The hotel has a small spa with outstanding masseurs and a large gym with basic Techogym equipment together with a heated pool . There is also a far larger unheated pool on the first floor with sunbeds , for a fee. ."
"We have just come back from a wonderful week which was completely delightful and stress free. Rain for five days and thunderstorms were forecast on our arrival but never appeared. What delighted us was the swimming on the deck just below the hotel. Surprisingly few other guests joined us and we had perfect peace and space to have an early morning swim, read and relax. One tip - either bring or buy swimming shoes (available in Cannigione) as there are rocks in the shallow water. We easily managed car free holiday, enjoying a beautiful walk by the sea to Cannigione most evenings. The hotel staff were naturally cheerful and helpful with out being in any way obsequious or up-selling us and they created a great atmosphere all round. Our deluxe room was very comfortable and the air-conditioning worked silently!"
"Great hotel, lovely staff, good food, very friendly and comfortable. Took the yacht outing with Andrew & Monika for our friends 70th Birthday - this was fab-u-lous. Nothing not to like The saltwater pool is lovely, a good temperature in September. Stayed here for four nights, we would definitely return "

"My husband and I have just returned from 4 nights at this hotel and I have to say that the reviews that we read before going where somewhat a little different to our own experience. Of course we have to remember that it is an unusual time so I will try to be as honest as possible. I pride myself on my honest reviews giving praise where applicable. So-here you have it! The hotel is two buildings, not connected with any signature touches so one could be fooled in to thinking it is two separate hotels, which it is as the road runs between both. We opted for the Pelican Beach based on reviews and I have to say it was a good decision so much so that I noticed guests from the Pelican Resort and Spa were using the facilities of our hotel. The hotel is quite remote with no shops and only a few restaurants scattered around. There is one supermarket about 1klm away so a car would really be the best option for this hotel unless you are looking for a very sedate holiday. There is a bus service to Olbia but only runs past the end of the road every 30 mins and the last one back is about 8pm at night. It was 35 euros to get there from the airport by taxi and 40 euros on our return trip. Our room was nice, large and cleaned every day by the friendliest person in the hotel. She was super sweet and efficient and looked after our room without fault. The wifi in the room and the whole hotel was quit frankly-pants! The room had a tv with channels that did not function at best but the shower was nice and the water hot. We were really surprised to find out though that although we had paid extra for the Pelican Beach we were not eligible to sit on the grass at the front of the hotel... We were asked for 50 euros a night for a room with this privilege..Needless to say we declined, complained a little and proceeded to sit on a lounger on the lawn for the remainder of our stay. This I found quite bizarre as the only other place was the small section of private beach that was not that nice. The sea in front of the hotel had a strange smell of bad eggs, so of course I did not snorkel in it at all.... We never found out the reason for that but I guess it does not take a genius to work out what the smell was. We booked breakfast and as we had already been in Italy only two weeks before my husband called the hotel to enquire about the breakfast situation. We were told that the breakfast would operate as normal, buffet style, but to be honest that was not correct. The buffet was behind a screen served by a middle aged unfriendly guy. The selection was very limited and the only egg option was scrambled or very cold hard boiled eggs. Any other egg option was a charge of 5 euro per egg...unbelievable considering this is not a cheap hotel. Porridge and orange juice are also extra. Trying to get a coffee in the morning too was always a challenge, always having to ask two or three times to prompt. We spoke to some other guests about the challenges the hotel is facing and they all agr"
"We weren’t too sure what to expect initially, and granted, the bedroom walls were a little thin, but overall this was an amazing holiday. There are things I can fault about the hotel, like a slightly moody reception member of staff who made everything you asked for feel like a bit of a problem and a restaurant which had a set price set menu but didn’t have any option for you if for allergy/intolerance reasons you couldn’t have one of their deserts (you still pay full price and no dessert), but most of the staff were incredibly great, friendly, fun, super effective and multilingual. They’re great at making cocktails. The spa was lovely, although the massage could have definitely been a little firmer! But best of all was the facilities - the pool, private beach, bar ... it was really worth paying the price to have direct access to an awesome beach with towels and loungers provided and the option of ordering drinks onto the beach. Breakfast was great, and some of the staff’s attention to detail. The hotel was very clean and convenient and in a good location for one nice restaurant in particular, a shop nearby, cafe and a short bus ride to Olbia - which was definitely worth the visit. Overall, the best holiday I’ve been on. Me and my husband are definitely planning on going back and next time exploring a little of the coast and archipelago by hire car at the same time."
"We enjoyed the hotel, it is nice not having to leave the grounds for much...the staff of the hotel is professional and helpful. Friendly Lifeguard and Bar Staff...The rooms were pretty good compared to the 20-30 other hotels we have visited across Sardinia. The rooms have the coldest AC and are nicely furnished. The resturaunt is not so great, the food is overworked and we avoided eating dinner there after awhile. At breakfast the coffee was lukewarm and the staff never set enough places for the amount of guests so you were made to feel slightly competitive for your table...something that we absolutely hated each morning. Località Milmeggiu, Olbia, Sardinia, Italy
" 1 week stay breakfast only The restaurant staff and the reception staff is friendly, and willing to help although could be a bit more enthusiastic for 4 star hotel. If you don’t speak Italian, you might be lost, as most of the staff doesn’t understand English. If you speak Italian as we do, you have theirs attention. The hotel is located up the hills closed to olbia. If you don’t have a rental car, your pretty lost there. Confusing is that the hotel is 4 Stars categorie but in certain occasions in the hotel you see 3 stars like on the key for the room, and some information papers. I presume the got upgraded to 4 stars, but didn’t yet understand what service level is appropriate for 4 stars tough. Check in was friendly, yet a little passionless and fairly brief. The room it self is typically for Italy with the necessary Furnitures, which are ok. But nothing more. We booked a king size bed. But got a twin bed room. Requesting the booked bed was answered with a brief we can check tomorrow again. We Checked again, and the told us the bring a different matress. All they did was to push the 2 existing ones together. Bed was uncomfortable due to very hard mattresses. Lattenrust was constructed with wooden planks. Never saw a bed alike that. Planket was a wollen military style and a bedsheet. Balcony was vast but only 2 chairs. The kitchen ventilation exhaust is directed toward the rooms so you always had cooking smell whenever you’re on the terrace. The ceiling of the terrace has seen its best years as well. Definitely needs to be maintained, rather done new. The house it’s self is a bit old, and if you have a closer look to details you find plenty of stuff which needs to be repaired. The walls are fairly thin so with stormy weather you can’t get asleep. The wooden window covers are hold in place with metal clamps, most of them don’t hold snuggle so when it’s windy noises are there trough the night. The Bathroom is small, but ok. The shower cabin falls aparte and doesn’t close even, so everything is watered outside, while taking a shower. The shower head needs to be replaced, completely wasted, the valves at the sink and in the shower are beyond their lifetime. I was missing a bin in the room. The air-condition is very loud, but works WiFi is only working in the lobby and there very slow. Safe is very small Lighting is too bright, so you don’t have a home feeling in your room. We had breakfast only and we where very happy about it. 1st night when we arrived we had dinner at the restaurant. Currently there is no a la Cart menu. You can only choose from the menu which is offered for guests which booked full service. We had a pretty boring pasta which was lacking in proper cooking, spices where absent. Breakfast was ok, if you consider that Italians don’t take breakfast seriously. All tough the breakfast is every day the same, nothing changes, and That is far too less for a 4 star hotel. They advert 2 bars. When you look "
"This hotel provided the perfect relaxing break with stunning views. The staff are attentive and helpful and all Covid-19 measures are in place, making you feel safe. The pool is beautiful, as are the hotel grounds. We enjoyed excellent food every evening with delicious fish dishes and good wine. Breakfast offers a wide choice and the espresso is good. A perfect stay for those seeking sun, relaxation and good food."
"Lovelyhotel for a break away. Situated in the hills away from the bustle, there is a minibus to the beach and the village is 20mins walk away. Hotel staff all very helpful, food wonderful, all areas squeaky clean. Ideal for a quiet break - if you want night life and children's activities, need go elsewhere. Loved it"

"Having taken a risk by making a reservation for this hotel before it was even fully built, I can only say that it was a brilliant decision. It was total bliss staying there and the attention to detail is obvious from the moment of check in. The reception staff are so friendly and after a complimentary welcome drink in the poolside bar, we were shown to our room and not blandly waved towards the lifts. This is a reflection of the standards this hotel keeps . The bedroom was wonderful and immaculately clean and new (but the hotel only opened at the end of June) Bathroom is also fantastic with a great shower. Our balcony overlooked the pool but there was never any noise to disturb us. The pool is a decent size and seemed to be cleaned daily and there are ample sunbeds. Particular thanks to the lifeguard who is an amiable chap and who is happy to organise drinks, extra towels, and who is happy to chat in excellent English. Breakfast is beyond perfect: it was like being in the US as every imaginable breakfast dish was on display, from fresh made pancakes, fruits, cheeses, meats, cakes and pastries, to fresh vegetables and a whole array of gluten free options. Location is a 10 minute easy stroll into the main hub of Cannegione. We didn't use the hotel beach but special thanks to reception for giving excellent assistance and guidance to another beach for snorkelling. We have looked forward to our stay here for several months and it didn't disappoint us in any way. Tiny niggle; more hooks in the bathroom please. Grazie to Grand Hotel Cannigione."
"Myself and my partner just completed a 3 week holiday in Sardinia. Almost all of our dining and hotel experiences on this beautiful island were perfect. The few mishaps before this hotel did not warrant me to set up a trip advisor account. However I now feel the need to set up an account to review my experience at the Cannigione Grand Hotel. We finished our trip with a stay in the Cannigione Grand Hotel for two nights. We are easy going and given the fact the hotel is brand new, were willing to be patient with any teething issues. Firstly the positives: Positives: Our room was tidy and comfortable as expected Receptionists were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and catered to many dietary requirements Good shuttle service to porto cervo and beach Pool area was well kept Good gym area with brand new gym equipment However, our experience was considerably worsened by our experience in the restaurant and with the hotel attempts to fix the situation. Negatives: Room: No bin in our room. Only one very small bin in the bathroom. Also nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom. Dining: We were pleasantly surprised to see a vegan menu so we ate in the hotel restaurant. When we ordered, it was as if we were the first ever to order off the menu and the waiter seemed unfamiliar with our orders. Then my dish came out cold and instead of baked potatoes (as seen on menu), I was served deep fat fried vegetables. My soya burger was clearly ready made and was more like a potato cake. Upon reheat of my meal, it was now piping hot and soggy as it had clearly just been microwaved. My partners dish (crunchy vegetables with chestnut flour) which cost the same as above was simply my dish (deep fat fried vegetables) with no burger. How they justified charging 18€ for what was essentially a side dish was beyond us . As we ate our meal, our waiter continued to argue with another dissatisfied customer beside us whose tiramisu was green. Their argument was quite heated and uncomfortable for everyone and not what you would expect from 5 star service. Despite ordering from the vegan menu, our waiter presented us with biscuits after our meal that contained dairy. He only told us this when I asked replying “it’s only a little dairy”. Then he replaced the biscuits with 2 tarts telling us they were gluten free (we are not gluten intolerant). Again I asked if there was dairy and this time he told me there was not. The tarts were clearly pre packaged and did not look very appetising so we did not eat them. The next morning at breakfast we saw the very tarts pre packaged (photos attached) and laid out (ingredients included eggs and milk but yes they were gluten free!). I then brought this up with the same head waiter who shifted the blame again to the kitchen. Admittedly it is likely the kitchen is also to blame as they cooked us a cold meal and made another tables tuna steak the so called “Sardinian way” (very very very well done) acco"
"My husband and I spent 2 days at this hotel, which has only recently opened. We were given a room located on the ground floor which has direct access to the pool, but there was not much privacy on the balcony. Reception gladly changed our room to the second floor. The rooms are clean and stylish and the bed is amazing. There is free underground parking. The staff are friendly and helpful and try to cater to all your needs. Breakfast is really, really good. The beach, which they offer a free shuttle service twice a day is about a 30 minute drive, but really worth it as parking at the beach is €2.50 per hour. You are greeted by the wonderful Domingo at the beach, he provides towels and sunloungers. The only downside in my opinion is to use the spa there is a €20 charge. The beauty centre is only open from 13:30 - 19:30. There are not enough drying racks / hooks in the bathroom that you can dry your towel to reuse again, but other than that, we had a great stay."

"We spent our honeymoon at hotel sporting in mid September and were immediately greeted with the most attentive staff member at reception who offered us an upgrade to our room booking to a junior suite located at the tip of the cliffs giving a gorgeous view of the sea below. Everything about the room was gorgeous, luxurious and tastefully done upto the tiniest details . The service overall was just splendid and professional . The private beach is nothing short of stunning(literally felt bad every time we were leaving the hotel) . Breakfast and cocktails were up to the standard. The location is a stones throw away from the port and city centre , yet intimate enough to provide you with an isolated experience . Would highly highly recommend this hotel "
"This hotel was just what we needed. We spent 5 nights here and got upgraded to a sea view room with direct access onto the beach. The view was amazing. The turtles outside our room were surprising to see but a great welcoming! The 3 sections of private beach were perfect, even in August it was never too busy to find a spot to relax in, never over crowded. The life guards were attentive and always happy to put towels down for you. The water crystal clear and great for snorkelling. The service fantastic. This hotel is understated sophistication, old worldly and luxurious. You can walk into the marina within minutes, you can hire a boat, scooter whatever takes your fancy. Calming experience - worth a visit "
"We used this hotel on several occasions during our recent stay in Porto Rotondo. We had morning coffee, drinks and lunch here on several occasions. The staff were very friendly, service was excellent on the terrace overlooking the sea. My family enjoyed several dips in the sea and loved it. You can rent a parasol and beach lounger too. Lovely place to while away a few hours and watch the passing yachts."
