"It is the worst SLH I have ever stayed in! It is advertised as an art hotel, but sorry, I really don’t appreciate it! Just pile up all the bright colors, put a lot of photos of naked women around, and play some suspenseful music, it's pretty scary! In short, there will be no next time, and will not recommend it to friends!"

Via Vito Pasetto 8, Corrubbio, Veneto, Italy
"To conclude the summer holiday season we took 3 of our 4 kids to Villa Giona after having spent a day there last year, and this year the experience was even more fabulous than before. The hosts are very, very welcoming and accommodating and will really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The Villa (dating back to the 16th century) is situated about 20 minutes' drive in a calm area surrounded by vineyards and nature. The rooms are kept authentic but offer a lot of comfort nevertheless, we again had the family apartment that consists of two rooms on the ground floor (integrated ante-living room with a fridge and some cupboards, and an adjacent sleeping room) and 2 bedrooms (double bed in one, two single beds in the other) as well as a large bathroom with sink, toilet, bidet, and spa bathtub - everything was splendid there. The park like garden comes with a lot of space to move around (especially cool for younger kids...) and also offers seating areas for relaxation. Further uphill the plot is the pool (quite longish, but not too wide), overlooking the surrounding hills, with a couple of deckchairs around it. The entire area provides a lot of space for a small number of rooms only, so you will never feel you are in a crowded place. They now serve breakfast at the table, and the choice ranges from all sorts of fruits to yogurts, mueslis, ham, bacon, eggs, sausages, ... you name it. They will prepare tables outside in the courtyard (provided the weather allows), which makes it an even more enjoyable experience. Their local enoteca offers a great selection of local vines, all of which can be recommended. Alongside, you can order snacks and sidedishes - of equal quality. Back to the hosts: A 6 star attitude towards their guests, it was amazing. We ran into two thunderstorms with hail during our stay, and during that time the enoteca had to be closed of course. Nevertheless they prepared something for us in the main building - awesome. The next day we found an umbrella leaning next to the entrance of our apartment, and one of the guys even came in person to hand over another one - again awesome. Many, many thanks from all of us for this stay - we will be more than happy to return!"
"Our stay at Villa Giona was wonderful. It was so relaxing and peaceful with spectacular beauty all around. The Villa itself is an incredible structure and the gardens are magnificent. David was at the reception desk when we checked-in. He was very helpful with many suggestions for places to visit & restaurants in the vicinity. Villa Giona is a remote location which provides lots of quiet and solitude, however, the small bar onsite is the only place to get a drink and a choice of small plates for food. With the exception of the lovely breakfast in the morning, there’s no restaurant, so it’s necessary to leave the property by auto if you wish to find a nearby restaurant. Our room Villa Giona was huge with a comfortable bed and nice appointments. The bathroom was also incredibly large. Also, there was a kitchen, however, there are no utensils or drinking glasses, etc provided so it’s basically for using the refrigerator. Another important thing to know is that the bathroom on a separate floor from the bedroom and there are two sets of very old, wooden stairs to get from the bedroom to the bathroom. A couple of days after we had checked out, we discovered that we had accidentally left an item in our room. The staff was so very kind and promptly shipped it to our next destination. We will visit Villa Giona again!"
"The villa was amazing, such a beautiful place! Me and my husband got the room with the balcony in the main building and that room was spectacular (very clean, rich decor, wonderful bed, the balcony with nice view was amazing). The breakfast was delicious, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the villa decor is so beautiful that makes you feel like you are in a museum. Trust me, you do not need Internet here! Just relax, walk outside (and inside), go to the SalvaTerra winery and try their delicious wine, go to the swimming pool (the view from there is amazing). I wish we knew how wonderful the place is in advance so we could come earlier and stay longer, but we are definitely going to come back next time."

Via G. B. Pighi 1,37024, Negrar, Veneto, Italy
"I recently stayed 4 nights at the Gran San Vito hotel in Negrar. The Hotel San Vito is divided into an older building called "Smart San Vito" and the newer "Grand San Vito" hotel. I had stayed in the old one previously and it was really need in of an update. The new building is much better. It is still quite basic, but everything is clean and new. There is a free parking garage under the hotel and the elevator does go right down into the garage. We checked in and I was given a room on the 5th Floor. The room was very large and very simply furnished. There is a bed, desk for working, and a small chair for sitting. There is a TV in the room, but mine did not get ANY channels...not sure if it wasn't working. The bathroom is good size, and clean and modern, although every time I showered water got everywhere! There are plenty of power outlets in the room (No USB chargers) and the wifi in the room was free and worked well. One warning is the bed is VERY firm. I mean VERY firm! But I still slept pretty well each night. In the morning the breakfast in the old building and is quite basic. There is coffee and some cereal and basic bread . The only cheese is processed cheese in plastic which is just gross. I really didn't eat much each morning. Plus they have a smoker's patio right in front of the breakfast area so you have to walk through a ton of smokers going to an from breakfast. One thing I wasn't happy about was the price increase for the new building. Last year I paid around 50 euro per night for the old building and this year it is 100 euro. and it just isn't worth 100 euro. I stayed at a hotel near the Verona airport that was MUCH nicer for only 80 euro per night!"
"I was in the hotel as a part of a group and we stayed in the new building. The rooms are very clean and each room is equipped with a refrigerator and a safe but no coffee maker. The air conditioning was set to heating and was OK. The breakfast at the hotel was a special deal for our group, and it was sufficient for many hours of walking (eggs, vegetables, orange juice, enriched choice of cheese and Tuna. I suppose, that if one does not have a deal, the breakfast might be different. Anyway, there is a good restaurant near the hotel, which can host dozens of diners, so there is a place to eat in the evening."
"The hotel in itself was alright, unfortunately there was no air conditioning in the room so it was very hot and there were no windows. The staff were very nice and friendly and the hotel was clean. The dinner began with some basic pasta with passata (ok). We then had some sort of meat (chicken/pork??) which was not nice and there was an actual ant in the chips!! The dessert had not properly defrosted yet and had no taste whatsoever. The breakfast was also poor. I would recommend this hotel but not the food. Eat somewhere else!!"
