The hotel is very well-located and my room had a fabulous view of the cathedral. There are restaurants nearby and the front desk was able to help with reservations.

Wonderful stay, very handy to the old town area and approx 15 mins walk from the train station. Staff were very friendly at check in very helpful with any directions we needed. Gorgeous vintage lift to help take the baggage up. Many places to eat nearby

A very nice hotel to stay. Great location, fantastic staff, clean rooms, very friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay here. It is pet-friendly and our dog enjoyed its stay as well. I highly recommend staying here.

Pleasant visit. Centrally located and easy access to everything. Small rooms. Good bed with nice linens and towels. No great amenities in the bath. Disappointing. Friendly staff at front. No restaurant but close to all one needs. Would recommend.

We booked on the strength of the Mercure name and our previous experience of their hotels. Pros. The location was brilliant, staff were friendly and the vintage lift was amazing! The bathroom was great and the bed comfortable once we asked for extra pillows. Cons. The room. We have never before - and we hope never again - to come across such horrendous decor. It was clearly new(ish) but…the colour scheme of black, pink and puce with touches of grey for light relief were just awful. A black/green 3D leatherette headboard, a wicker covered wardrobe door, utterly bizarre side tables and a lamp which is hard to describe - and why was there a heavy curtain (think circular shower curtain) to pull around the door? When we checked out the receptionist told us everyone loved the style and, if we’d asked, we could have had a “normal” room. It’s hard to ask for one if you assume that all rooms are on the same theme. On top of all that the hallways had carpets that…I can’t find the words …and were cluttered with housekeeping trolleys holding spare duvets, linens etc. Not a nice look. Breakfast was adequate, that’s the best I can say, and expensive for what it was. Three * begins to sound generous.

The beat location for hyper-centreville. Rooms were nice. Housekeeping could’ve been a little more attentive. Nice, large bathrooms.

A lovely stay. We only stayed for 1 night but wished it was for longer. Friendly helpful staff. They do provide parking nearby but as we had arrived in the evening she advised us where to park to save us money which was so honest and good of her. Our room was nice and clean and they had upgraded us . Lovely building . Breakfast was great as well, a decent selection of meats, cheese and eggs and creoes, breads and croissants. Great location, easy walking distance to the restaurants and the river, around 5 minutes. Very safe as well. Lovely hotel, will stay there again. Thank you. Michelle x

The staff were exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was good, and the location was great. Figuring out how to use the shower was a challenge, however! A laundry was close by, although laundry services are available at the hotel.

Lovely front desk people. Our first room was straight out of American horror story. Strange set up, dirty carpet and some weird curtain at the entry door (?). They changed us to a seemingly renovated room on a higher floor which was much better. However A/C on 19 (about 66 Fahrenheit would not cool to barely about 78 degrees) the room had a cute rooftop view and was clean.

The receptionists were both fantastic, especially Marie who checked me in, she left nothing to chance and her English is superb, saving me embarrassment with my limited French, thank-you.

Had a lovely sleep in a comfy bed and a hot shower in the morning. All I want from a hotel. Friendly service at check-in but didn’t need anything else. They offered a list of restaurants where you can get a discount for staying at the hotel. Nice. Location is good for the town and about 15 minutes from the train station.

excellent location in the City center, in front of the Galleries Lafayette and next to the Cathedral, small restaurants, shops.. The staff is very kind. The rooms are large and very comfortable.Very clean. I love the breakfast buffet and the bar.

What nice helpful people. My husband left his camera behind. They contacted us and are mailing it to us. Plus the room was comfortable, large with comfortable beds and nice towels. Breakfast was good. The location was great. Very close to restaurants, the Cathedral and the museum. If we return to Bayonne we will certainly stay here again.
