Pretty disappointing. Took visitors to experience some Scottish hospitality and enjoy a few drinks and dinner and found that dinner was" all booked" by the residents and we could be served at 7pm. They don't open Mondays,Tuesdays, don't open in Winter, only serve dinner after 6.30pm, have a sign up saying they may close early if not busy, children not allowed near the bar, the fire wasn't lit, assuming it may be lit when the patrons come for dinner, but only if they have booked a room, and if they have booked a room they may be offered a friendly welcome and a good experience. So moral of the story..... book a room if you want dinner.... or good service. If you're driving ,keep driving. If you're staying elsewhere in the area look for another pub.

We had a lovely stay whilst walking the rob roy way. This place is perfectly on the way between two stretches of the walking route - with no other options around. We loved the food and warm hospitality. Also had a nice big room and a bath tub. Recommend!

We stayed in Room 1 for two nights and it was ideal, hotel was quiet as it’s just out of season but still plenty of chat and conversation with Mark and Audrey who are very good hosts. Dinner was quality and a great cooked breakfast as well, the guys are very good at what they do and hope the new season is a successful one.

Rarely open, and when they are, it's never to their advertised hours. They don't do food to non-residents. Insult to injury, they decide to take two months off during Xmas & Hogmanay. Because being rarely open is such hard work. Strathyre & its very vocal locals deserve better.

Cycled to hotel to find a sign saying not open till 4.00pm. Called back later to be welcomed by owners and shown to our rooms. Our bikes were stored securely in a shed at the rear. My room was at front and while not state of the art, was functional for my purpose. Hewever, during the night I was disturbed at regular intervals by HGVs on the route from the Highlands. Earler, we had gone downstairs for dinner in the bar. The place was very quiet but friendly. They lit the open fire specially for us. Prices were reasonable and the food homely.

My family and I stayed here early October 23 and I cannot fault the welcome and the efforts that were made by the team to make us welcome. The room has just been refurbished and was very comfortable. The evening spent in the bar, which it also seemed to have been refurbished, was relaxing and the warm open fireplace added to the ambiance. Before leaving the full Scottish breakfast set us up well for the coming day.

The pub doesn't do food for non residents. It also closes incredibly early, around 8.30pm on a Saturday. Not what you want after a long day on the hills. They advertise they're open later but dissappoint awaits...

Out for a drive with my partner and 2 daughters stopped off for a drink on our way back home The old lady behind the bar didn’t greet us a hello she was pottering about behind the bar thought it was rude to start with Eventually she shouted she would be with us in a minute with her back turned to us my 2 daughters went to the toilet and I was left standing at the bar until they came back waiting on my partner parking the car The barmaid shouted no children at the bar I explained she wasn’t standing at the bar she was standing at the table near the bar when I explained that she shouted again children not at the bar at all Extremely embarrassing as the customers all looking at us She then shouted again get a seat and one of you can come to the bar My eldest daughter was looking to see what soft drinks they had in the fridges below as was I Anyway we sat at the table closest to the bar partner came in I told him what happened and said I’m not sure if this table is ok as it’s closer to the bar than where she was standing Barmaid walked passed us as I said this and confronted me I told her she didn’t need to shout the way she did and that this table is closer to the bar and then she asked us to leave in front of everyone we left and she shouted yeh off you pop
