Hotel le Golfe

We were expecting a simple affordable hotel. What we got was exactly that AND amazing port views overlooking the harbour. Super friendly staff in reception where nothing was too much trouble. Yes the rooms are small, just as we expected, but they were very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and without a doubt the little balcony overlooking the port, really was the cherry on the cake. Easy to walk everywhere from here and of course, the area is stuffed full of restaurants and cafes, from simple snacks to Michelin standard. Just great value!

A well tucked in hotel overlooking the Cassis harbour..ever helpful and smiling staff ensures that your stay is superlative. There are plethora of restaurants around the Cassis harbour and it's in house restaurant dishes out the best gourmet food. Ohh before I forget, kindly look out for ocean view rooms ( if possible on the higher floor) ... it's a view to a kill...we had a great time

Fantastic location, excellent service, amazing value. What a great place to stay with lovely views over the harbour. The service from the ladies in reception was amazing, they were extremely helpful. This hotel deserves to have a higher rating!

We had a sea view room on the top floor with a balcony. The room is simple but quite efficient despite the small size. Air conditioning worked well. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. The staff in the night shift don't speak as much English so be prepared if you have a late arrival. The cafe is surprisingly good. The buffet breakfast includes made-to-order eggs. That and the view is well worth the price. Lunch was really good too. They don't open for dinner which means no late night noise from the cafe. The location is furthest down the port but closest to hiking to the Calanques. We feel like we could not have stayed at a better place in Cassis.

Simple, cute, affordable and in a beautiful position! My teenage daughter and I stayed here for a one night stay to visit the calanques, and wanted something affordable and comfortable which is exactly what we got. However, we also got amazing, helpful staff and beautiful views over the marina. The balcony allowed us to take in the night life of Cassis. The bed was comfortable and big enough for us to share. the bathroom was small but functional. We were able to walk everywhere from here. There is no lift, so have to carry luggage upstairs - which was fine for us, but FYI for others. The staff allowed us to store our luggage prior to check in and were super helpful in trying to find us transport in the early morning back to the train station. Perfect for what we wanted. Would stay again.

What a great location - view a little impeded having been put in the room right at the end overlooking another building (the only room on this level with that obstruction and very disappointing). The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunantly that is where the good bits end. The room was incredibly noisy as there was a pump or something going off evey couple of minutes. Overnight too, though that was about every 30 minutes, so just as you get to sleet, you are woken. Barely got a wink of sleep. (Note: when we reaised this with the front desk - they tried to ascertina what the noise was and were not able to and when we let them know about not getting any sleep, they did comp the breakfast - so got some coffee!!) The room was as basic as it gets - not even a side table and the double bed pushed up into the corner

The hotel itself is pleasant enough, basic and simple, probably a 2* anywhere else but the position really makes it. Our room had the most fantastic views over the harbour and you stroll out of the front door onto the water's edge, with it's plethora of restaurants. Probably less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. I would happily stay here again. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful, contrary to the indications given in some other reviews.

I didn't find a Cassis hotel that had a consensus of good reviews; seems to be a mixed bag. The hotel I did want booked up, so we chose this one. It is definitely a 2-star hotel in terms of rooms/interior. Very basic. Plus they don't have 4-person rooms, so I had to pay for two rooms, since we have kids, which made the visit more expensive than it should have been. That being said: I got port side rooms, which was worth it. My teens loved taking photos on the balcony, and they had never been anywhere like this before. The view across the port is quite lovely. Complaints about noise for any port side room are warranted, but I always wear earplugs while traveling. Note that if you're on the far left side as you're facing the water, your view might be obstructed a tad by a building below, so ask for a higher floor and lower-numbered room (we were 114&116). Air condition was strong, beds were ok, towels were good. We got the hotel breakfast, mostly for the experience of sitting in the lovely terrace with the view. It was your standard fare: pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt (really good yogurt!) - not spectacular, but good quality and you can fill up. The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Overall, a pleasant stay. However, if I was here on extended holiday, I'd probably choose somewhere that had rooms that were a bit nicer to hang out in.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful view of the port. The room was small but comfortable and we didn’t have any problem with noise. The front desk staff was very helpful and we would recommend this hotel and Cassis in general when in southern France. Perfect for strolling around the port and town and getting a drink and bite to eat while people watching and enjoying the beautiful views. it’s a nice base for hiking the Calanques also.
