10+++ this place deserves 10 million stars I could not even begin to tell you the incredible experience that we had. We got the Safari Room absolutely amazing and beautiful any request that we made she made it happen the horse ride with the picnic afterwards. Nice, romantic picnic for two everything was so beautifully, set up and ready and waiting for us there, I booked the birthday package for my husband’s birthday and did a Romance package. They were beautiful rose petals upon arrival a man’s bouquet of beef jerky balloons, banners and a cake. Everything looked so professional and beautiful . This place was better than any 10 star resort. You could possibly think of everybody was so accommodating it was an absolutely amazing adventure . We were spaced apart from other people, so we had to complete privacy. The only neighbors were the donkeys, deer,, and buffaloes!! Fridge had an amazing assortment of food and drinks. The only disappointment was having to leave.

We stayed in the Enchanted Cabin. It wasn’t enchanted. Then only positive we can say is that the property was pretty ( though not kept) and the bed was comfortable. Very rundown, dusty, broken patio chair, unusable patio furniture. Broken shower door , barely working appliances. No where to relax, or put your feet up. Tiny furniture. No soft blankets. We asked to have the cabin tidied up and shower door fixed. Someone came and hosed down the porch , that was it. Very disappointed, not as advertised.

We have just returned from 2 nights at Blisswood, which was the final stop on quite a busy road and rail trip across the States! It was the perfect place to unplug and unwind. As soon as we turned into the drive, we were met by acres and acres of wildflower meadows (in peak Bluebonnet season!), dotted with picture perfect lakes and forest areas. The cottage (Bluebonnet Bungalow) was idyllic - no fancy amenities (other than AC!) but full of charm and very comfortable for a family of 3. We loved the outdoor shower and hot tub under the trees. And the front stoop with 3 rocking chairs! We stocked up on groceries (don’t forget to buy a banana, to feed the friendly Lemur family on site!) from Sealy, which is approx 25 mins drive. We were really glad we did, as we then didn’t have to leave the ranch for anything. We enjoyed using the outdoor grill. Activities wise, I loved my horse ride around the property with wrangler Jessica. And my husband and son really enjoyed bike riding, and also their time with Mark, practicing archery and tomahawk throwing! To summarise, I would recommend Blisswood to anyone looking for a peaceful, simple ranch experience, full of outdoor fun and with time to really relax and appreciate the beauty of Texas.

Loved our experience at Blisswood!! Our family had so much fun as we "unplugged" for our excursion. The staff was extremely helpful with booking and during our stay. Audrey made our horse ride a relaxing adventure and Skeeter was the absolute best guide for all of our fun activities!!!! He's certainly the reason we thoroughly enjoyed our time even though it was super hot, we all got caught up in his company and the rustic charm of Blisswood! We will come back!!

My husband and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary in Blisswood and we had an AMAZING experience!!! I was a little nervous because it was my first time coordinating our anniversary celebration, but he loved it. We stayed in the enchanted cabin and I added the Anniversary Special package. We didn’t need anything else! Carol also provided a great service, sent reminder and checked that everything was good. Can’t wait to come back!!! Highly recommended!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this very charming ranch outside Houston Texas. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and appropriately rustic with all the comforts of a hotel. The real charm is the personal touch the staff provides. They really catered to make our stay as memorable as possible. Although they have many wonderful activities from archery, fishing, horseback riding etc...Our favorite was the touring the ranch with the staff and feeding the animals on the guided safari tour. They have a wide variety of animals including a few well mannered Bison. We are planning to take additional family members again later this year.

We were a group of 7 and stayed at the Dog Trot House. Everything was absolutely clean and well equipped. The house is very spacious, authentic, but with a touch of modern confort (AC) that was highly enjoyable. The property is huge and very beautiful and there's a lot to do on site. DIY barbecue at night was probably one of the tastiest meal I've ever had ! Activities are great, for kids and adults. The staff have been amazing... They've been extremely helpful and reactive when we prepared our stay. Also very efficient on site. Everything was absolutely perfect ! I miss Blisswood and will come back again for sure !

We had an amazing time at Blisswood! We stayed in Lehmann house which was clean and had amazing views of the ranch. The main attraction of Blisswood is the ability to disconnect, experience nature and do lots of fun Texan activities. We rode horses, fished, threw horseshoes and did an exotic animal safari which was so fun. The animals are all friendly and cuddly. An amazing way to feel at peace with the world and experience Texas Country!

We loved Blisswood for our small elopement! When we first arrived at Blisswood, there was a magical feeling that fell upon us as we listened to the car tires crunching the loose gravel and the huge canopy of trees that expanded across the road leading to our Enchanted Cabin. The cabin was like a little doll-house among all the green trees. Our cabin was equipped with a fire pit outside, a hot tub, and a jacuzzi inside the master bedroom. We enjoyed riding horses, picnic lunches, and roasting s'mores by the fire at night. Most of all, we enjoyed the complete serenity of gazing up at the stars at night and drinking our coffee on the porch in the morning. Just complete relaxation after the busyness of organizing a wedding and the hectic lifestyle of the city. I enjoyed listening to the mooing of the cows at night and the singing birds in the morning! We will definitely be back to this magical place!

Overpriced and under delivered, that’s what describes Blisswood. The sales job the pictures do here on this website is amazing, the images are incredible and lead to believe that this is a glamping or upscale stay, but they definitely are very disconnected with reality. We stayed at the Dog Trot House (we rented all of the two suites), the furniture is old and some of it needs desperate replacement or refurbishment, antic is ok but some of it is just falling apart. One of the cabins has a very bad mold problem in the ceiling that is a health and safety hazard. Nothing was really clean, cockroaches showed up dead by the handful every morning, and we even got to see a mouse in the kitchen cabinets. We were there 4 nights, after the first one we almost called it quits and left but decided to give the place and the activities a shot since we really wanted to have a few relaxing days…the trapshooting was fun and the safari was a blast for our 5yo but that was all we got to enjoy. The pool was useless because it is not heated, and even though the temperature was above 80 the whole time it just doesn’t warm up, it wasn’t also very clean. The horseback riding was so disappointing that the owner gave us back some of the money we paid for it. The fishing gear we rented at a pricey 200$ for 3 adults and a child was never used because the fishing lake has zero infrastructure for sitting and fishing. The Show Barn is just a dumping place for broken stuff and toys, is dirty and poorly kept, animals soil it and nobody really cares for it, the bicycles Are flat, the “archery” is just shooting at a plastic deer from 10ft away with a poorly kept arch, the children games are just junk that was left there and they leave to have you use it… The owner, Carol, was very responsive and we thank her, Mr Skeeter makes the safari lots of fun, but Blisswood definitely needs a lot of help to command the prices they charge. If only they would invest a little in the place maybe they could even charge more and I would have been very happy with our stay, but sadly I found it deceiving and very expensive for what it is.

Me and my family stayed at the Lehmann house for two days. The stay was amazing. Like in an american cowboy movie. We loved it and will come back. Really recomend it for everyone who is out for an edventure.

As my wife and I drove past the lake welcoming you to the property, I knew we were in for a relaxing few days. This feeling only intensified as we pulled up to the Mystic Woods Cabin. The cozy cabin reminded us of where we stayed the night of our wedding. A cozy bed, table, and quaint kitchen all brought feelings of peace and comfort to the wooden area surrounding our cabin. Needless to say, we had a blissful time in the cabin. Additionally, walking to the property is a joy. Cows, horses, and donkeys graze in the fields neighboring the cabin property. The sight of them helps keep the mind focused on their slow and peaceful pace and forget the outside world seemingly hundreds of miles off on another continent. The owner, Carol was very helpful in providing information and directions as needed. Otherwise, she allowed us to simply enjoy to peacefulness of the environment she helped create. We will certainly return and we cannot wait to stay in another one of the beautiful cabins on the property.

I planned a vacation that I could do with my family and my dog and have fallen in love with Blisswood. There's peace and quiet. There's beautiful century+-old trees. There's horseback riding, hiking, and other activities for kids. My dog could run around and just be herself. She had a blast. Our accommodations in Lehmann House worked well for our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids). We made our own meals and enjoyed playing games or working puzzles when it was raining. Otherwise, we had wonderful weather and got to enjoy walking the grounds. It was very relaxing. The kids enjoyed visiting with the various animals (horses, donkeys, lemurs, emu, deer, bison, goats) and even got to feed some of them. We also got to meet a rescued border collie. We appreciate the staff who were so helpful and nice. They wanted to make sure we had a good time.

We stayed at the Log Cabin. This is a great authentic house. Which really gave us a texan feeling. The cabin has everything you need and Blisswood has really done a good job adding a lot of original furniture etc. Sitting at the porch and watching the sunrise is great. The cabin is rudtic so don’t choose it if your looking fir luxury but had has all the texan autmophere you could look for. The real attrataction is the ranch. We tried the exotic safari, shooting and horseback riding. The safari was fantastic. Skeeter (head of customer service) made our stay very special - he is as authentic as it gets - and he has even won a phulitzer price for his cowboy photos. Feels like having a texan granddad :-) Best guide ever! Carol was very helpful arranging everything - eventhough we were late in our planning. Location is fantastic. We made it to Belville a few times. They have a nice gym w day passes if you need your workout. We also made to the Alamo nd Houston for a NBA game - liftoff Rockets. All in all we loved everything about this ranch!
