Absolutely fantastic!! Judith and her husband are the most amazing and genuine hosts! The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Riverhouse is a bit out of the way from town so we had all our meals in-house and we couldn’t be happier with the vast menu, and delicious, home made quality of everything we ordered. The views from the breakfast terrace were stunning especially at sunrise. Kayaking on the river was a serene experience, but our private boat out to a secluded island with a private beach was definitely the highlight of our stay! They even packed us a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beach! Judith even helped us book massages right in our room. Overall such a relaxing, serene visit for our family! We will definitely return!

This is a quiet and relaxed hotel. The AC can make your room very cold which is great when you are out in the sun for too long doing all the great island tours around Coron! The room is comfortable enough and the staff would clean it everyday. My only complaint is the shower drain, it drained very slow and the water would flood out of the shower. There is a drain outside the shower but it still made the floor wet and soaked my slippers. The staff is very kind, always says hello. This hotel is at the top of a hill, right up from the town. You will get good exercise here, it is very close to the entrance to Mount Tapyas. You can see the Coron sign from the hotel. The hotel offers transportation to the airport and you can pay low prices for the amazing different island tours. You can pay the hotel for the tours and the tour hosts will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off when the tour is done. The breakfast is decent and the pool is very nice and relaxing. The food and drinks at the rooftop bar are great and you get an amazing view up there!

Pros and cons. The island was great, we loved our stay at the cottage. But the service was not so good. Pros: - The island was great. Major plus points for the house reef and grass bed that attracts fish and sea turtles. There were birds and the monitor lizards on the island! - The view from our sunrise cottage was great. The rooms were clean and the toiletries complete. - Transport to and from the island went smoothly. - Massage was great! Cons: - We arrived at around 1pm (official check in time is 3pm). The staff told us they would call us when our room was ready. Many groups of arrivals were steadily being escorted to their rooms but not us. At 230pm I went back to the reception and was told our rooms had been ready earlier! But NO ONE let us know. At this point, they gave me the key card but no one made a move to escort us to our rooms and I had to ask if they could give us our luggage so we can go the room already before the receptionist accompanied us. - There is no comfortable place to wait or change clothes while waiting for your room. Basically people are sitting on the pool loungers in their pants/shoes from the airplane. - We signed up for the hike, we were told some one would text us to confirm time and meeting place, NO ONE called. - Basically, any time they tell you they'll call you, NO ONE did. I had to call multiple times and actually go the reception to get any response. - The restaurant was not full yet it was very hard to get the attention of any server. The food also took 30-40 minutes to serve. Kudos to the one lady server who served our lunch everyday for 3 days, she was the only one who helped us. - Used plates/utensils were left on the restaurant tables for a long time. We sat down as the neighboring party left and we were already done, their plates were still sitting on the table (being snacked on by the birds). This happened every meal (and we're slow eaters, at least 45 minutes). - Towels and plates/cups by the pool loungers also not cleared for hours. - Breakfast and dinner buffet were just okay. Nothing to write home about.

Tucked off the main ***** this place is quiet and peaceful. Our room was basic; bed, table and chair inside (and some chairs outside on the shared balcony), toilet, sink and shower. There was a TV that worked but not many English speaking channels, a wardrobe/shelf area and an air con unit. Bed was comfortable for Asia, shower warm and air con cool. Small window at the top of the room to allow light in. Balcony overlooked another building for rooms and a way in the distance you could see the sea. The pool was nice, didn’t look entirely like it was well kept, it was always a bit green tinged and full of leaves. But it was always a welcome cool after a long day. There were four sunbeds around the pool and a small patch of grass. My husband did get an ear infection but we don’t fully know whether it was from this pool or from diving but worth considering not getting your head in. The staff were very helpful, doing laundry for a reasonable price, directing us to recommended dive companies etc. Their English was good and they always seemed around to help.

This place is awesome. Great location. Right in the middle of Coron Town, in walking distance of shops, restaurants and tours. I didn't see any other accommodation at this standard near the town center, so it really stands out. In terms of the hotel itself, the architecture is really cool. Feels like you are staying in a Mexican drug lords mansion. The lagoon style swimming pool is also beautiful and a great place to hang. The highlight for me along with the location. Staff are great. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms are both spacious and clean. Restaurant food and breakfast were solid but not amazing. You could book tours through the hotel. Didn't do any myself but the prices and itineraries looked pretty standard. I personally went to the dock and organised directly with the boa**en. This enabled me to get a more tailored itinerary for a cheaper price. Understand this would be out of the comfort zone of some in which case, the hotel tours are a good option. I did get private transfers to and from the airport with the hotel. These were on time and fairly priced in a nice, air-conditioned van. In terms of opportunities, it would be great if the hotel invested in some new sunbeds. The furniture by the pool is pretty old. Useable but feels close to falling apart and looks poor, particularly next to such an amazing pool. Overall, I had an amazing stay and would thoroughly recommend the Corto Del Mar to anyone coming to Coron. Thanks, and see you next time.

Excellent service and experience. Nothing but great things to say about the location, the staff, the room, and the overall relief the hotel brought to our stay. + Hotel staff: helped with everything even emergency rice to dry our iPhones, no questions asked + Location: Central to Coron Town (within one block you can find excellent food, supplies, pharmacy, and activity’s) great for tour pickups + Room: Cooled great air conditioning, comfortable bed, has a bidet, and hot water

This resort is really good, it is a good hotel in coron. This is because the flight was cancelled and there is hot water in the bath! thanksgiving! Although the breakfast is relatively simple, I sleep very comfortably at night ~

The location of this small hotel is good - in the heart of Coron Town with everything around you. Tour Agencies, Travel Agencies, Restaurants, small bars, shops, etc... The hotel itself is nicely decorated and rooms are clean and comfortable. My main issue was with the staff at the hotel, especially reception. They were quite uninterested, standoffish and a little unapproachable. At times, even something of a bad attitude. The other staff members around were ok, but not fantastic. Our rooms weren't cleaned at all for three days, we had cups and a full ashtray outside our rooms for the whole three days also (place isn't big, so certainly not difficult to keep on top of!) as did other rooms near us. Breakfast has to be booked for time the night before, and is 'ok' at best. Coffee, however, is absolutely awful! If you're looking for a decent place to stay without over-spending, this place is fine, if you'd like better service, look elsewhere. Honestly, i don't think i would stay here again.

The girl at the front desk is beautiful and the service is warm and thoughtful, the room is clean and tidy, the air conditioner is no noise, and the surrounding business is bustling.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Nice comfy room with great Aircon and a really nice breakfast in the morning. The pancakes were delicious. All the staff were very friendly and had great English! Especially the security guard Arthur. He made us feel very safe and was very friendly and welcoming.
