Check in was easy and room was clean. Was only there for one nighty but was very happy with service and stay. Pool looked nice as well. Would book again.

The aloft Coral Gables was a disappointing property from the Marriott brand. While obviously built into an older building in historic Coral Gables, it was not well maintained and had a peculiar smell in the room. Indeed, our suite smelled like “cat pee” that was being masked by cleaning products. The room was also dark. One other issue, especially in sharing the room as a family was that the bathroom sink area had no door, meaning using it at night or early in the morning would disturb others. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and the beds comfortable. That said, I wouldn’t stay here again.

I booked a suite with two queen size beds and a pull out sofa. They tried to give me a king and a pull out. After some complaints the type of room I asked for materialized even though I was told that there were none left. The new room had a strong moldy odor and a couple of small mold spots on the ceiling (size of a quarter). Other than those complaints I really enjoyed my stay. Very convenient location.

Terrible service. First they gave me keys for the room that didnt work, inhad to walk all the way back to the front desk. Then they gave me another keys, when I arrived to my room they did work, but… SURPRISE, the room was occupied by another people!! I had to walk for the third time to the front desk to get another room. Next day they didn’t refresh the room. I called at night to get clean towels, called again in the morning, had to make a third call to finally after a one hour and a half wait get my clean towels. Awful service.

The room smelled terrible. The carpet was old and the room was dingy. For a marriott I expected way better. Lesson learned.

Staff is not friendly. I spoke with several staff front desk members and they wouldn't even give you the time of day. They would look at me and say "yes?"... not cool. At least say good morning you know? Not the type of greeting you'd expect at a front desk. Cleaning staff on the other hand...nice, polite.

The color patterns for hotel hallway & rooms used dark grey, which isn't inviting. Staff at front desk require Customer Service training. I found them to be unprofessional, On the phones texting. At check in. Overall is a nice hotel, also don't slack off on Maintenance, my room reqiuires minor touch up repair, plaster around the door failing. This hotel can be a 5 star but willing to settle a 3 star.

This Aloft hotel is definitely substandard for the brand. The rooms are poorly lit, could definitely use some renovation. The floor tile in the showers is extremely slippery. There were closet doors missing in the last room we stayed in. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the area is excellent. We have stayed at this property more than once due to the location not the property itself.

Room was surprisingly big, free Continental breakfast was a nice surprise, lobby bartender was not enthusiastic & bar should maybe open earlier on weekends.

It was a convenient hotel close to the hospital where I was having surgery.
