We loved the Location, the room (despite not having a city view), the comfy bed, great shower, Motor scooter rental, and our host Yom. Yom has several pets, yet they will not enter your room. We found them gentle and they did not awaken us. More details: YOM is such a wonderful human! She was so attentive, kind and generous with information and conversations. We stayed on top floor in the ”Executive Suite”, which is a large bedroom with private bath and draped windows. As AC is not necessary in Da Lat, the large quiet ceiling fan was more than adequate. Breakfast was not provided at that time, but Yom has a few great recommendations and we loved all we visited. You can't go wrong in Da Lat, and don't miss the amazing daytime street market and food vendors on the town center's steps. The night market is mostly clothing and dry goods. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. If you like the smaller friendly Homestay vibe over modern hotels, Doc May Villa will delight you. Just be pet friendly, and a tip: pet the dogs before the cats! --- NOTE: This is the Doc May Villa, NOT Doc May Guest House or Doc May Hotel. Some reviews on the internet have confused this as they share the same base name due to changes in Doc May ownership a few years ago.

Right from beginning everything was fine. Absolutely awesome property and nostalgic French property. Climate was absolutely fine inspite of heavy rain for past few days. I first met at reception Ma Kh’anh who explained lucidly everything about Resort along with a cup of ginger tea. She looked after well everything during stay at Ana Mandara. Regarding food I can say they are best for Vietnamese food. Mr Huong is main chef who has splendid Vietnamese recipes and taste of food absolutely fantastic. Resort is located at a serene place which gives plenty of time to relax. Swimming pool is warmed and I swam there couple of times. It’s a typical French colonial property and everything in order. I will highly recommend.

Our stay in the Dragon King Hotel I would be almost very pleasant if not for 2 incidents. 1. In countries where I don't speak the language I usually ask for a calling card of the hotel. I did and they had none, And voila the taxi took us to another Dragon King Hotel in Da Lat and we had to take another taxi from there back to Dragon King I. 2. We booked including breakfast as that is normally a nice way to ease into the day in a foreign city. The Dragon King breakfast facilities are in a from floor to ceiling tiled cellar under the hotel full of load speaking local people eating local breakfasts (soup and the like) so talking about your plans for the day while eating bread with jam (the only non local food choice available) was impossible goodbye enjoying a quiet breakfast. (There is a nice place to your left when you leave the hotel that serves for a very small price with a very wide smile)

The rooms are all modern design and it is considered one of the newer hotel in Dalat. The location is conveniently located above the main market building and it is just a 2 mins walk to the daily night market. The buffet breakfast spread is good with a good variety of Vietnamese and International cuisine to chose from. It is different daily and hence a pleasure to eat the breakfast every morning.
