Room was comfortable and had all the appliances/toiletries I needed. However, hot water didn't work in the morning; not so much of an issue because Derby is HOT and the cold water isn't very cold, but not sure why it didn't work. Also, confusing check-in process; had to go to a different hotel to sign in, and didn't receive any communication about this process - a man in the bottle-shop saw me looking confused and let me know. Having said that, the staff who eventually did help me were wonderful. Overall, relatively enjoyable stay for a budget price.

Awful accommodation. Pool is dirty and looks nothing like the photos. Food was very average. Manager was arrogant and unhelpful. Yes, value for money if you are looking for the absolute basic of everything. Threadbare towels, uncomfortable mattress, noisy wall mounted air conditioning, rubbish, cheap flat pillows that you would throw away if they were in your spare room.

This accomodation is basically extremely run down mining transportables with very unkempt exterior. In its defence it was clean. Although the laundry was not. What was truly outrageous was the fact that a $200 bond was required, and I had to sign a waiver stating that this money, in its entirety, would be forfeited if we lost the key. No we didn’t lose the key, but we took a photo of its resting position in the room as we walked out the door- just in case.

Manager was rude and very poor people skills. Absolute terrible manager

The people who worked there were awesome, but the facilities are old and dirty. Cockroaches in my room, and generally untidy

Was not sure what to expect. Was overall happy with accommodation, rooms are nice and big with a cool airconditioner.

Affordable, TV not functioning, no chairs in the room, room numbers not visible at night, rooms - tired and worn out. Unable to check in at reception - 1 x Eftpos machine shared between reception and bottle shop, check in completed in bottle shop.

To start the manager was extremely rude & abrupt to me & our tour guide. The access / path to the accommodation was cracked & uneven leading to an over height uneven step to the room. The bathroom hadn't been restocked , the bed was against one wall , no wardrobe doors & its skirting was missing. The ceilings to both the bedroom & bathroom had approx. 600mm circular stains. Two FIFOs staying in the next room were leaving the next day after two weeks & had had their room cleaned once on the Wednesday before they were to leave with nothing cleaned or changed previously. We ate elsewhere & expressed all 8 of our group's disgust to others . Don't understand how it can still be operating .

While the rooms we booked were clean, and the accommodation was relatively inexpensive, it was not the greatest motel. We were not able to get rooms close to each other; the fridge in one room had such a bad ice build up that the door didn't close, and the laundry only had one functioning washing machine, which was very busy. On check-in, we asked a question about the area, and were told there were no brochures. We were also not advised that the dining room would not be open that evening. Overall, it was a place to sleep, but not a great experience. OK sums it up.

It was okay. Just hard to get into but then it’s really secure. Didn’t like the bond of $200 as there was nothing in the rooms that was worth the bond it pretty basic staff were lovely overall a good place to stay if your not sure of the outback town.

Very disappointed. Good bed but the rest was very very ordinary. Not a chair to sit on. More like a donga in a mining camp. We wouldn’t return.

We had booked and paid for two rooms via *******. As it turned out, the facility was closed down due to lack of staff and we were not informed of this. We then had to find alternative accommodation. All efforts to get a refund from either Boab Inn or ******* have to date been unsuccessful. The Boab Inn has since contacted us and we have been told that the refund has to come via ******* as the original booking was made through them. No assistance has been offered from Boab Inn.

The premises were closed when we arrived - no prior notification even though it had apparently been closed for some time

Looking for a place to eat in Derby we did a bit of research and settled on the Boab Inn. We both enjoyed the locally caught Barra … one with chips and salad and the other with vege. The Barra was cooked to perfection and the veg and salad was fresh. The staff were very friendly and inviting. The menu was extensive but when in the Kimberley the Barra is a must.
