ibis Epernay Centre Ville Reviews

Had a very welcoming check in experience by a lovely young lady who explained everything in some detail to me including the car parking in the underground car park below. And how there was a special rate of €10 something for 2 hours there if the ticket was correctly validated, so I parked our car down there. Spent a lovely evening in town and upon checking out the following day presented my car park ticket for the expected validation to be told that I had to do that with the office at the car park. So I went there and explained that I was staying at the Ibis and needed the ticket validating and was directed to the cash machine. Which promptly charged me €34.40 for the privilege of 20 hours parking. I will be visiting Epernay again on my travels but will be staying well away from the centre. Either someone from the municipal car park needs to talk to the Ibis management, or vice versa, the Ibis management needs to talk to them. I obviously was not the first victim of this.

Parking in the vast underground car park below the hotel was simple and cheap if paying for multiple days. The in and out access within the fee makes things so much simpler. Buying a weeks parking for our 4 nights was the most cost effective approach and allowed us to head out for a drive through the nearby vineyards on our 3rd day. Breakfast, bar etc all very functional. It’s a great place as a base, but not where you would want to spend an evening - and that is how it is set up. We loved the free drink if you didn’t get bedding and towels changed everyday.

I know that the title of this review does not relate directly to the hotel, but may impact a decision to stay here. Rooms are small (even the bigger one we booked)- “Comfort Room”. Adequate for a 1 night stay but very noisy all night with people drinking in the square. (Not the fault of the hotel though). Small bar with fairly priced glasses of Champagne. Staff were helpful & friendly but could not really recommend good Champagne tasting. If you want to avoid the expensive tourist traps on the main run; try Bar A Vins Et Champanes in the town. Great tasting, great waiter for a fraction of the price. Good location but would probably not stay again on account of the city parking charges & noisy location.

Arrived at hotel. Got charged for both rooms again despite having already paid. Paid again as we didn’t want to cause a scene whilst checking in. Checked confirmation and confirmed we’d prepaid. Was told we’d be reimbursed after we proved pre-payment. Went out for evening meal. Came back for drinks before bed before 11pm. Stood at the bar but was ignored by staff who saw us arrive (2 staff members sitting chatting at reception - both ignoring the 4 of us at the bar). Eventually managed to get the attention of (disturb) the chatting staff who finally served us. A smile would have been nice?? Won’t be coming back here in a hurry to be honest. Not the usual Ibis experience sadly …. on the plus side, great location and nice rooms

Great hotel perfectly positioned in the centre of Epernay. Staff very helpful, doggy bag for our dog! Rooms clean and bathrooms brand new and great. Best of all was the breakfast - amazing! Everything fresh from fruit salad to pastries to bacon and eggs and real tea. Loved it!

The hotel is perfect for visiting the avenue and the town, there is a public car park underneath which if you validate your parking within 24hrs is pretty cheap, €14 for 48hrs. The rooms are small but you’re only sleeping there. My only real issues were the towels are small and thin and you only get two, also the mattress has a kind of plastic protector on which makes it very hot to sleep. The sheet isn’t big enough so moves in the night and you end up sleeping on plastic.

A well maintained hotel with rooms typical for a city hotel. Small, compact and clean. Breakfast was plentiful but we struggled to find restaurants nearby. The hotel position was perfect for exploring around Epernay and although there was no parking at the hotel, the Centre Ville parking was just across the square.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Reception were very helpful checking us in and helping arrange taxis to a wedding we were attending. The double room was lovely, big bathroom and a very comfortable bed and pillows. Well situated in the middle of the town, close by to everything with a nice courtyard area with fountains out the back. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of continental and cooked food (bacon & scrambled eggs etc). Clean, tidy and quiet of an evening. Would return at the drop of a hat.

Small budget hotel, very well located. Rooms are a bit small but manageable, and amenities were not great (only 2 towels with no hand towels, i.e.). The hotel is currently under renovation, which was not mentioned when we booked (although we booked a while ago), and there is some serious noise going on between 8 am and 6 pm.

The Ibis in Chablis is well situated making local services easily walkable. The staff were very accommodating and breakfast was quite good!

Good location, clean room, good price

Epernay, the heart of champagne, is all class. So is this hotel. Punching way above its weight, the Ibis Epernay just delivers big value.Rooms are all you need, breakfast fresh, but it’s the staff that shine. From reception, to the bar staff, to housekeeping, the whole crew a polite and professional. Clearly well managed, the Generation Manager should be rightfully proud of hid/her team.

This property was a nigh**are. Rooms are impossibly small, no where to put any of your suitcases et c. The towels were dirty with brown stains. It’s currently under construction- I emailed before I came asking if this would be noisy as I have work I need to do over zoom and need quiet and was assured that it would not disturb me. I have email proof of this response from the hotel. They were literally hammering above my head from 8am on. I called down to ask if there was anything I could do- The staff was extremely rude, especially Amelie. I asked to speak to a manager, she said they would be there in 10 minutes. I asked again an hour later and she told me no, she would not get the manager for me and refused to help me any further. Extremely unprofessional and with other hotel options in the area, I don’t know why anyone would choose to stay here. Avoid it like the plague.

From pre check, parking, modern and clean room could not fault it. Rooms are on the small side but perfect for our stay. We had breakfast included which was great and plenty of choice. We stayed a Saturday night and parking outside of the hotel was free but there’s a car park just opposite the hotel. It’s walking distance from all the champagne houses so definitely a great place to stay
