Hotel City

Excellent hotel, very economic, ideal location. The room was pleasant, clean, and just the right temperature. Generous breakfast and very kind staff -- I left a book there and they will mail it back to me gratis! I appreciate this touch and I will return.

great older hotel. 5 or 6 minute walk to the main train station & the Florence Cathedral & Baptistry. Numerous options for eating, coffee & shopping (if shopping is your thing on vacation). The room was clean, quite & spacious. I was able to control my heat. There was a fridge in the room. Also, a laundromat was a few doors down from the hotel ( for those who take enough clothing for a few days, and then do laundry). The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. I highly recommend Hotel City.

This was the best place I stayed in while in Italy. It was truly a close walk from/to the train station, well-located and can easily walk everywhere. Was very well pleased with the size of the room, the bathroom was exceedingly spacious and loved the sparkly blue tiles. The hotel was very clean, and thank heavens they have an elevator as I am on the wait list for a knee replacement and wouldn't want to have to walk up/down the stairs right now. Thank heavens didn't have to. The people at the front desk are attentive, friendly and very responsive when asked for restaurant tips, places to see, etc. If you do stay here, you might want to ask for a room away from the street. There is a street running in front of the hotel which seems to be pretty busy pretty much 24/7 and it can be noisy. Thank heavens didn't bother me. Breakfast was no more than adequate, and if I stayed here again, might opt not to include breakfast and go to one of the other close by restaurants/kiosks serving food. Located right by the markets and the food market/hall where the locals go to shop and eat - and just walking in the door and smelling is pretty well heaven.

Enjoyed the proximity to everything. Lots to do very close to hotel. Easy dining options and shopping.

So convenient to everything Florence. Small.and quiet. Very well staffed. Breakfast was roomie and offered mny options. Safe area and well lit. large bathroom with space. If you're going to make a lot of purchases in the leather market, it is the best place to be.

Staff extremely helpful, a few steps to popular tourist venues. Note, our room was the least expensive due to availability. On each floor there is a room such as the one we had. The full bathroom was across the hall. We had private key access to this bathroom.
