We didn't stay at the hotel. We came to visit the thermal baths. I really liked it. Design - you are immediately immersed in a fairy tale. Friendly staff. Not cheap, but the price includes an unlimited stay, a robe and two towels, which are waiting for you in the locker - large and soft. A variety of swimming pools, a cafe, a restaurant and for all visitors a basket of apples (very nice). Places for drying wet towels. Spa complex (but we didn't use it) We really regretted that we didn't stay at least 2 nights in this hotel. This place is worth a visit.

The whole concept of the hotel and the therme are just great. Due to the type of architecture perhaps it feels a bit crowded around the pools but it’s a manageable thing once you get into the rhythm. The rooms are beautifully designed and with its own charm. Dinner and breakfast are in the same dinning room, the offer is buffet for both services.

I have been to Roget Bad Blumau before, the establishment is very nice. However this time, they would not accommodate me. I was passing through the area with my cousin and wanted to show her how nice this place is. We wanted to take a 3-4hour pass for pool area like most thermal spas in Europe offer. We were told at reception that the 3 hour pass only starts as of 1st June, which is in 2 days. They did not give us the option even when asked to speak to a manager. Very poor customer service if you ask me. I live in Canada so don’t have many opportunities to visit, they said the only option was to pay full price at 54€ per person. Paying 108€ for 3 hours to me is a waste. It’s a nice thermal spa, but have also been to better for cheaper.

This spa hotel is our top favourite of all we have ever tried. It is perfect in every way you can think of and no detail is left to chance. The team is so dedicated to make you feel welcome and to do absolutely everything they can for you and then some more - this kind of personal, kind, attentive service without being overbearing, servile or sticky is actually a particular form of hospitality that is really really hard to find. So when you find it you must treasure it and support it - this is why we come to Rogner Bad Blumau time and again - with our family and also without our kids at times. Some of our kids already come with their own partners now by themselves as they have experienced this place's unique charm and hospitality from when they were really young and have at all stages in their lives felt welcome and cherished as guests. The spa itself is gorgeous, there is always something fun and beautiful and colourful to look it - it really is like no other place and it is entirely true when one of their slogans calls the hotel and spa a work of art to walk inside - it really is just that. The spa facilities are fantastic and I am not sure what else one could possibly desire as all your needs and wishes are taken care of. There is also a generosity of hospitality in everything - plenty of towels available at no extra charge, fresh dressing gowns if yours gets too wet, baskets of apples to just take one if you feel like munching on a tasty styrian treat, water with lovely herbs or fruit in the entrance hall, welcome drinks and little good bye treats, water in your room, etc etc etc Everything is just there for you and nobody demands extra payment for things like towels etc - that's so nice and makes you feel cherished, not robbed (like other places). Last but not least the FOOD: Unbelieveably nice, freshly prepared and wholesome, locally sourced wherever possible - there is a huge emphasis on organic/local/fresh/from small producers etc. and it pays dividends - the food is simply amazing and how this place does not already have a michelin star is beyond me - they sure deserve it!!! We had a "Kalbstafelspitz" with polenta on one of our evenings and it was A-MA-ZING!!!! Juicy and tender and so so lovely!!! When I asked for the chef the next morning she was so friendly and kind and explained to me how they get such an amazing result and she was so modest with it - I could not thank her enough, honestly! Right up there with the best meals I have ever had in top restaurants! Also: do not miss the breakfast buffet - its fabulous and there is so much choice you need to stay a few nights just so you can try it all. Do yourself a favour and visit this place - you will most definitely NOT regret coming! Biiiiiiiggggg thank you to the entire Team at ROGNER BAD BLUMAU! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Our visits to Austria are not complete without a few nights at your hotel!!! THANKS FOR THE AMAZING MEMORIES OVER THE YEARS!

They even charge you for the air you breathe. In my opinion it is overpriced for what it offers. I often frequent hotels with spas but it is the first time that guests are also charged for the courtesy set represented by bathrobes and towels, I understand it for external users (because the spa and swimming pools are not reserved for hotel users only) , but certainly not for those who pay 746 euros for a 2-night stay in a hotel for a double room with half-board treatment (excluding extras). There is no included snack (always found in similar structures) and herbal teas and fruit are not even offered in the Spa. The structure is a few decades old and is starting to show the signs of aging. Good breakfast, sufficient buffet dinner with drinks that are paid separately and too expensive. Glad to have visited this structure that I had heard about but honestly I would not go back, I found much newer structures, with much more exclusive services and cuisine with a better value for money both in Trentino and in Tyrol.

We, 4 friends, spent 3 nights including half board in Rogner Bad Blumau in April 2023. In order not to let the negative experiences at the reception influence my rating too much, I refer to 5 areas that result in an average rating of 3.1. Conclusion in advance: the condescending and service-free treatment at the front desk and the poor service for hotel guests gave our stay a very bitter aftertaste. 1. Eating/drinking: 3.5 points - it is cooked quite well | the offer is varied and you have a generous selection every evening - vegetarian or vegan on your own small menu > side dishes at the buffet not vegan - the breakfast is very good and also offers more than other wellness hotels for those with lactose and gluten intolerance - the kitchen - and the service staff is extremely nice and attentive 2. Spa area: 4 points - the sauna area has a lot to offer and is very clean - it would be nice to be able to swim outdoors here - it's just pleasant naked ;-) - it However, not everything that is advertised in the sauna flyer is offered daily or at all - you can only register for special offers on the current day (why at least 4 days in advance is not possible, I don't understand and makes stress-free planning for the entire stay is not possible) via an online portal, which is only located at the entrance to the sauna area > the spa reception at the hotel-side entrance to the thermal baths, incomprehensibly, does not offer this service and the way to the sauna area is not exactly short - but you are also in the sauna area the employees are extremely friendly and service-oriented 3. Facility: 3 points - this is really very spacious and you have to walk quite a long way (the brick house is definitely recommended for people with restricted mobility) - the absolutely necessary signs in the hotel area enable orientation , but in the thermal baths area it takes a while to find your way, because there are no signposts at important points - in the thermal baths area every free space is used for loungers and beds, because it was probably not originally designed for this number of guests (also on Escape routes and less than 1 meter from emergency exits!) - Hotel guests are not provided with a contingent of loungers and beds or their own area (I have never experienced that in a spa hotel before) and meant that the four of us used three loungers on the last day had to share 4. Applications: 4 points - the massages and facial treatments are carried out by professionals and are correspondingly good (as are the organic products used) - the online booking in advance also worked well - but the facial treatments don't take place according to the description (e.g. the face, neck and décolleté massage lasted no more than 5 minutes for a 50-minute application) 5. Reception/service for hotel guests: 1 point - vo

We stayed 2 nights at the Rogner Bad Blumau Hotel and also visited the thermal baths. We are terribly disappointed and would never go back. Pro - Very nice staff - Therme - Well organized - Clean Con - The Therme is anything but a wellness oasis. You lie everywhere like a sardine -> you can rather imagine it as a huge swim-up bar. We mostly found loungers, even if they were in the hallway. We didn't find a lounger in the sauna area and it wasn't a lounger with "only" a towel that you could remove. In fact, all the beach chairs were used. - The thermal bath is old and not modern at all. You can tell that the spa is 25 years old. Everything is loveless. No attention is paid to details. Sometimes something hangs down here and there or is broken. - The hotel is worth a maximum of 3* for us. The doors are colorful and reminiscent of a youth hostel. The paths are very poorly signposted. The hotel is huge and you often end up not knowing where to go. More signs would be appropriate here. It is pointed out everywhere how organic everything is and that the food comes from the surrounding area. Both breakfast and dinner were terrible. It didn't taste good. At breakfast, not even the limp organic bread tasted good. The jam wasn't good, the scrambled eggs looked disgusting. No attention is paid to the obligation to wear a mask. The guests ignore the mask requirement and the employees do not point it out either, although the rules are signposted everywhere. In the morning and in the evening there was a mass of people standing at the buffet without a mask. It reminded us of a cheap, bad holiday in Spain on the Costa Brava. The clothes and the level of the guests is not ours either. Dinner with a cap, etc. Even if there were young guests, we noticed the pensioners more. Basically, we don't go on vacation to places where there are too many retirees. Dinner was terrible too. There was no separate menu with e.g. non-alcoholic cocktails. The waiter only listlessly told us which juices were available. The food is over salted and/or tasteless. The fish tasted like disgusting sponge. From our point of view, the chef is a disaster when the food comes out of the kitchen like that. For us, these 2 nights were a waste of money. If at all, we would only recommend the thermal baths for a day trip, but definitely not the hotel. But the entrance fee of 49 euros for a day ticket is also not appropriate for us. On the way back we also saw a bit more of the area around Bad Blumau. For us this is the ugliest corner of Austria. Since we are often in Tyrol, there is no comparison.

Loss of quality everywhere - this thermal bath used to be an integral part if you wanted to spend a spa day quietly and in a very dignified ambience. I was shocked that the thermal baths in Blumau had many structural defects and that the guest capacity was increased. Of course, the plaster is not crumbling from the ceiling, but if you take a closer look, desolate structural problems are very visible. It is beyond me how one could not use several LockDowns to send the in-house technicians through the thermal baths and e.g. replacing missing screws on the speaker boxes (hanging crookedly on the wall) or hiring someone with a brush and paint to carry out repairs or to fill various holes with putty. But where I really had to laugh is the fact that I had read a comment beforehand, where the food was completely oversalted. Because despite knowing about different seasoning preferences, I have to say that our ordered Wiener Schnitzel saw absolutely no salt. A certain basic spice belongs everywhere - as someone who has been working in the catering industry for a long time, I lean out the window and say - that there probably can't be a lower level of quality in the kitchen anymore. The salad from the mason jar suits this level quite well. ChiChi looks moderate, but it is completely inappropriate, because how should dressing or a spice get the salad under the first layer of lettuce? Blumau was really always the concept of quality and I was always looking forward to spending one or more days here, but that can bend - this thermal bath has slipped far behind in my personal ranking and has slipped to last place because the price/performance ratio no longer fits at all . I wanted to take photos and send them to Mr. Rogner, but in the end I was too stupid. If the management now says - everything is wrong - loudspeaker boxes in the outdoor area of the volcanic lake are crooked - screws are missing. Also in the lake area, the 1x1 meter concrete cubes are no longer blue, but are crumbling and the same color. In the outdoor pool facilities, the entrances to the water are so calcified (they could have been renovated and cleaned very well in the lockdown) The mattresses of the cuddly loungers are partly bloody and dirty. And last but not least - let the management eat a salad in a jam jar and try to marinate it with oil (a normal portion) and vinegar...

Schade. ☹️
