This place has so much to offer, but sadly the two reasons we were there (horses and cattle) were no where to be seen. Beautiful location, lovely pool area, nice rooms. We were excited to see longhorns and go horseback riding on our weekend trip to Texas. During our stay, the longhorns were back in the woods and never made an appearance. That would have been fine, they are animals and I get that they can't always control them. The disappointing part was that the front desk told us to go out there and they might come out at the 9am feeding time. We went there and no one was there, neither cattle or wrangler. So, we went to the barn for our 9:30am horseback ride. There we were told that they haven't seen the longhorns in over a month. So, we waited for them to try to catch their horses for our horseback ride, but they were unsuccessful. The ride was cancelled as they had no horses for us to ride. We checked out early after seeing no horses or cattle. Would have booked another ranch with reliable riding had I known we were going to miss riding completely during our trip to Texas.

We enjoyed a three night stay, in a cabin with a view across the stables & wider landscape. It was beautiful. The weather helped as it was hot, so late nights in the porch rocker looking out across the Wildcatter acres in moonlight…stunning. The staff were all pleasant, especially the guys down at the stable (Clint & John deserve recognition - John was terrific during our ride out; friendly, knowledgable and just the right amount of cowboy). The on-site Steakhouse good (see my separate review on TA). This should really be a five star review, but…there’s a lack of attention to detail - housekeeping is ‘just’ enough not to be classed as dirty; we had threadbare towels, which required a call to reception daily to get changed (even though a card in the cabin suggested the room would be serviced daily); the pool area only had five sun loungers, but multiple patio chairs, no pool towels (we were expected to use our room towels), and dirty cushions, all surrounded by an overgrown and unkept lawn/garden; the staff are scruffy, no uniform; the breakfast buffet (adequate) is served with paper plates and plastic cutlery; the activities are varied but expensive and include mandatory 20% gratuity, which is uncalled for as I think most guests would tip automatically. There’s much to praise at Wildcatter but also much to highlight for improvement. I can’t comment on the hotel rooms, but the cabins are certainly due refurbing & decent housekeeping.

I escaped the normal hotel route and booked the wildcatter ranch to enjoy an experience. Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendly and welcoming hotel front desk staff who provided me with directions to the barn for a horseback ride. The wranglers were very knowledgeable as I listened to them explain to a young inquisitive girl how things worked at the ranch. Copper the ranch dog was awesome and my horse Ringo took care of me on the trail ride with Abbey who was the most pleasant person I have encountered during my business travels. I ate dinner at the steakhouse on premise and the food was phenomenal. If you order the parm cheese sticks, make sure you have someone to share them with. In Texas everything is bigger!! The sunset at the infinity pool was breathtaking. Next time I’d definitely opt for a cabin room for the views! However, I will say that the hotel room was beyond expectations and I loved the real good hairdryers provided in the room!! Same brand I use at home and it took no time to dry my hair compared to the dinky ones at most hotels. In the morning, sign up to feed the long horn cattle because it was downright cool! The length of their horns are bigger than I am tall. It was unreal! I highly recommend checking this place out and enjoy all of the experiencing they have to offer! Whoa is the stop signs on the ranch and all I can say is whoa this place is amazing!

Wonderful place, loved every minute here. Staff are amazing and the views to die for! Room was great and the food, the best I had while in the USA. Pack a swimsuit as the pool is lovely :-) Not too far from the town of Graham, but place too good to leave!

We were in a cabin, the view was amazing. The pool is only 3 feet deep, not good for y’all people. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, there is NO LUNCH at the hotel, only breakfast and dinner. The activities are so much fun and our guide Jhon was amazing! Aaaahhhh the steak and sweet carrots at the steakhouse are phenomenal!

Unexpected gem on our trip through Graham! The hotel was comfortable and charming! It would be a lovely place to visit in the fall and winter though the pool is fabulous for this heatwave. Wi-Fi in our room wasn’t great and cell service doesn’t really exist. But in the lobby we are able to use our computers and cell phones. I would recommend this location for families, business meetings, and couples

Wonderful accommodation. The initial receptionist was also great and friendly. However, a major setback: both beds creaked tremendously which meant that no one was able to sleep, because as soon as someone moved, everyone was awake. When we reported this, the only response was: "Interesting” Maybe it was just this room, but with other beds we would give a 10/10

It was what we made it. When we checked in, the staff was friendly and apologetic, but we had to wait for room to be ready so we drove around the property, but the roads were not very passable to get to places. There is not alot of privacy at what they call cabins. The room itself is nice and large, but the back porch offers no privacy or space from other 3 rooms that are combined in the one cabin. The views were nice and serene but you really can't see much. It's not a very walkable property. The pictures on website are a bit misleading. The horseback ride was disappointing as it was just a walk through rocky treed pasture area, but not with much to see. Even when you walked past the Brazos river, we didn't stop to see it. The guide never talked or anything unless asked specific questions. Our dinner at the steakhouse was disappointing and expensive. The bacon wrapped quail was good but the chicken-fried steak gravy tasted very floury and the peppered salmon special tasted burnt. We had hoped for a steak but not at $50. The town of Graham really has only fast food choices. We drove out to see Possum Kingdom and the dam but not much to see/do in that area either. All-in-all it was an expensive weekend for napping.
