Very good place!! The service is really great!!

Beautiful hotel central to the university and surrounding area. Have stayed here before and Hotel Madison never disappoints.

Beautiful lobby and the room was comfy but the pillows are terrible! I was so happy I brought my own pillow. Room was quiet and staff was friendly. It was annoying that only 3 out of 7 floors have ice vending though. Probably will not stay here again.

It was a beautiful property. Loved that we were so close to the campus and within walking distance from where we needed to be. But for the atmosphere and price, the towels were rough and the sheets should have been better quality.

Overall the Hotel was very clean, excellent service. Easy to get to from I-81 Nice fitness center and salt water pool. Nice breakfast for an additional fee (fee for parking as well) THE Downside.... Have to walk a ways from parking garage to hotel. Bed was Very Firm!!! Sheets had a stain and were rough. Bathroom door was off its track. Shower sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. The heater was really noisy. Tiny fridge with no freezer for my blue ice while taveling. Personally I will try a different hotel next time I travel North on I-81

It has gone downhill in quality since I’ve been staying here over the past 4 years. No housekeeping while staying, rooms are very tired and run down.

Perfect for a visit to JMU visit. Steps from building that tour starts. Absolutely recommend. Hoping to have many more stays in the future!

Great location and convenient to the event that I supported. The ONLY challenge was that the bed was too hard. Some may like this; I do not. The young man at the desk for check in and check out was EXCEPTIONAL!

The staff … the front desk to the bar to the breakfast… was outstanding, professional friendly and always willing to help. I have been staying there for years and it never disappoints.

Very welcoming after a long day of driving. Nice not to have to leave the hotel for an excellent meal. It was all there. Very evident that staff wanted our stay to be the best

Rented 3 rooms for a family event for a single night. In the morning we discovered that there was no hot water. At check out, the hotel staff admitted that they were aware of the issue and that it been occurring for more that a week. Very surprising that a hotel of this caliber would not warn their guest of the issue or offer a discounted rate.

The housekeeping staff could improve their cleanliness efforts. There were areas that were definitely neglected in the bathroom and the kitchen. For instance, there was visible hair in the shower, dust/dirt in floor corners and unfortunately INSIDE Kuerig!! While I usually, pack wipes and disinfectant spray, it is unfavorable to NEED to do it versus doing it out of habit. Additionally, cookware and utensils were not properly stocked in the kitchen. While, guest services were responsive (i.e. arriving within 15 minutes of call), these are the little inconveniences that affect guest experience. This rating could be lower, but the friendliness of the staff contributed to a more favorable rating (i.e. 3 stars)

Everything is great at the James Madison with one exception. The coffee from the pods they is horrible.

The showers did not have hot water. One shower was full of hair and wouldn't drain. When we called the front desk they said they couldn't get maintenance in until after 9:00, after we were already checking out to leave. They wouldn't adjust the bill because it was reserved through Travelocity/Expedia.
