One of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had in our life. There was no mention that the room we got wouldn't have a shower. Not only that, but the bath had a ceiling that was just a couple feet above the bath, so you couldn't even stand up in it. Absolutely no mention of this when we booked the room. This wouldn't have been enough to give the place one star, but what followed is what made this the worst stay I've had at a hotel in years. When my wife brought up the lack of shower and how it wasn't mentioned to the front desk lady (I believe she is one of the owners), she said she couldn't do anything about it, but that in exchange, she would give us a free parking spot in their lot when we got back to the hotel later that night when we finished exploring the city. When we arrived later and drove into the parking lot, we were immediately confronted by the man that works here (I believe he is also one of the owners). He started freaking out on me and told me to move my car and that we couldn't park there - no idea why he couldn't politely say this to us. Unfortunately I can't speak German but my wife can, so she started explaining to him that the front desk lady said we could park there because of the situation with our room not having a shower. He started berating my wife and getting so mad at her that he made her start crying. Disgusting that an older gentleman feels manly treating a young woman this way. I wish I had understood what was going on so I could have defended her, but I didn't notice she was crying until she returned to the car and I couldn't understand their German conversation. He blamed us for booking through ******* and not calling them about the booking - something we have never had to do through any other booking on *******, especially when we live in Canada and the long distance phone call to Germany would have cost us a fortune. If this hotel doesn't like ******* bookings because they don't make as much money, maybe they should remove their listing instead of getting mad at their customers and treating them horribly. They should also be honest about their rooms in their listings, as we would have booked somewhere else if we knew there was no shower. He went on about how much he had to deal with people at the hotel that day and using that as an excuse for making her cry. News flash - you run a hotel, so if you can't deal with people, maybe it's time to seek out a new career. He ended up letting us park in an unofficial spot in the parking lot and had the audacity to tell my wife that we should leave a good review in exchange for this. We were going to complain to the lady at the front desk upon departure, but her and any other staff were nowhere to be found when booking out. When we first arrived, we also had to wait around for someone to show up to get us our room. Other that the lack of a shower, the room was very outdated and didn't feel very clean. It was somewhat quaint though, so this wasn't a big deal. The

Wonderful small hotel overlooking the Neckar river not far from the old town. We stayed for two nights and it was absolutely lovely. The owners of the hotel are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious, well kept and very clean. We had both breakfast and evening meal, there was plenty of choice for breakfast and the evening meals were extremely good, freshly prepared and plenty of it. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel where you are made to feel so welcome … thank you for such an enjoyable stay

We very much enjoyed the view and location of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the host hospitable. We were able to venture to the castle and the city center with ease.

The location was perfect for hooking up with family. Apart from this: the hotel is shabby and basic. Bedrooms had a sweaty odour, bedding and towels were cheap and needed replacing. Our room was tidied on the first day. We noticed the toilet roll had been folded into points, my shower hat from home - which I'd hung up, had been thrown away and the beds left UNMADE. We had a kettle and no cups or spoons. The other (triple) room had 2 cups. Lighting ineffective and some not working. This is not a place to hang out. We didn't try breakfast (€15 each) based on them not getting the important details of comfort right. We liked the bakery for breakfast pastries near the supermarket.

A very comfortable and welcoming family-run hotel. The owners are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and mine had a balcony looking out over the Neckar, perfect place to relax after a busy day. Dinner in the onsite restaurant was delicious and a wide choice at breakfast. I would be happy to return.

A family-run hotel, full of character and charm. Really appreciated the balcony overlooking the Neckar river and the ability to chat to my friend in the room next door. The owners were ready to offer advice about public transport into the centre of Heidelberg, as well as local events. The restaurant offered a good quality breakfast and evening meal. Best of all, we really did feel welcome.

Very peaceful, the scenery towards neckar river and its surrounding is amazing. The staff very helpful and kind. The wifi provided by the hotel is also fast. The bus stop is in front of the hotel so it's very easy to travel by bus. It is very easy to visit the old bridge by bus

This place is an amazing surprise. We decided to try our luck with a local motel instead of a chain. This was the best decision for this trip. Amazing host! Offered a discounted upgrade with a river view and a balcony. He mentioned that we hadn't inclyded the breakfast. When I told him what we wanted he said he would have it and would cook to order, just to let him know when he could expect us. This isn't like a normal hotel. This is more like a bed and breakfast. The hosts put their heart and soul into this place. It's beautiful, clean, and well cared for. They, humbly, list good place as a 3-Star but, reality is that is much more. We are very picky, and highly recommend this place!!

First, the breakfast at this hotel is well worth the money. We really enjoyed our breakfast there. We had a room with a balcony, and really enjoyed it-- we had a great view of the river and liked being able to go out on the balcony.

Am Neckar gelegenes Hotel. Das Zimmer war großzügig, wenngleich ziemlich 80er. Die Zimmer zur Straße sind wegen des Verkehrs recht laut. Heidelberg ist mit dem Bus sehr gut zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ist okay. Das Restaurant konnten wir nicht probieren, es war nicht geöffnet.

Wir waren im März 2026 in diesem Hotel während einer Geschäftsreise. Wir waren als Gruppe vor Ort. die Buchungen über die Website haben gut funktioniert, führten aber zu unterschiedlichen Preisen bei gleicher Zimmerkategorie und ähnlicher Buchungszeit. Das Preismodell wirkte undurchsichtig, scheint aber per Telefon am besten zu funktionieren. Die Zigarettenkippen in den Blumenkästen hinterlassen keinen schönen Eindruck. Reservierte aber nicht genutzte Parkplätze verbunden mit sehr enger Einfahrt hinterlassen keinen Willkommenseindruck bei mir. Die Frühstückszeit dokumentiert ab 7 Uhr wurde auf 8 Uhr geändert. Schade wenn man da bereits Termine hat.
