A splendid original art deco hotel right next to the beach and Forest in a residential area with delicious food, indoor and beachside sauna and gym. Very accessible to a range of outdoor sports, a life guarded sandy beach, a local lovely cafe, and just outside of Helsinki linked with a coastal path. We had a superb few nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. We needed two rooms as we had our 20 year old son with us, after us all running in Jukola so booked the apartment for a bit of R&R before flying back to the UK. To be honest the apartment was a little tired in terms of decoration, with the walls having small chips out of them and needing to be repainted for example, but this was represented by the cheaper price. The bathroom was small but shower great, with plenty of towels and good sustainable shower gel and shampoo. The apartment has plenty of space and storage and a fully equipped kitchen which would be perfect for a family with young children and or with dog. The air con in the main room worked for the whole apartment ( we had some hot days ) and most importantly, the beds were incredibly comfortable. All beds were single which can be pushed together to make a double. Perfect. I didn’t see the regular rooms, but after seeing the main hotel with its fantastic original art deco design and furniture would love to. Maybe next year, but we will bring our dog next year. Breakfast was a good range of local, traditional and international wholesome food and drinks. My husband particularly liked the waffle maker!! The restaurant was closed the evening we arrived as it was Sunday so we were directed to a local pizzeria. Dinner at the hotel was delicious and we all had the minute steak which was very tasty and then a range of really good rhubarb and sorbet desserts. It was brought quickly to our table overlooking the beach through the trees and the young man serving answered all our questions about the interesting history and design of the hotel. This hotel is a really interesting find. It has the feeling and look of a top class modern hotel, but it’s all original and without the silly prices! The hotel sits in amongst the natural forest next to the beach with its own beach, sea access, sauna and pontoon to bathe in. It’s also just a short walk along to a life guarded sandy beach perfect for children with a fab little cafe/restaurant next door. We hope to visit again next year to experience the sauna, spend longer and explore the area and maybe even cycle the coastal road to Helsinki. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Response from Property: Dear Amy, thank you for visiting our hotel and thank you so much for your lovely words. We are very grateful that you enjoyed your time with us in the hotel and the restaurant. Our hotel has been build in 1963 and was originally a training center for Pohjoismaiden Yhdyspankki bank (PYP, later named Suomen Yhdyspankki) so we do have lots of history and have kept the original feel and design of the hotel. We would love to have you back anytime and welcome all pets as well. Have a lovely rest of the summer! Best regards, Nina, reception.

The hotel is quit nice but it was a pity that they didn't serve lunch in their restaurant, just some sandwiches, etc. at the reception area. My colleague and I were staying in 2 rooms in an area where there were just 3 rooms in the corridor, which was nice. The diner in the restaurant was nice and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. When I was there, everything was covered in snow and I bet that the place will look completely different in summer. Must come back to find out.

Our team had a Quarter meeting & pre-christmas party where we spent two days at Hotel Rantapuisto. Beautiful surroundings, excellent breakfast, and super friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay. The 60's architecture & design elements with open spaces and large windows incorporate nature as part of the building(s). Seaside and forest views from the room's, beautiful untouched nature on the doorstep. Would definitely go again!
Response from Property: Thank you so much for your lovely review Heikki. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the surrounding nature, the breakfast and the 60`s design. Hopefully we will get you as our guest again soon! Best regards, Pinja Reception

Had a really nice staycation at Rantapuisto with a gorgeous winter wonderland view! The hotel is perfect for anyone who likes the 70s and Finnish design. We took a package deal that included a sea view room, breakfast and a evening blini buffet. The deal was really affordable. The staff was helpful and nice and the food good and the breakfast perfect. The surrounding area is beautiful and perfect for walks. Quite far from the center of Helsinki, but easy access with the metro.
Response from Property: Dear Kaisa, Thank you for visiting us and for your lovely feedback. Really great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the blini buffet. Lovely to hear that the staff was helpful and nice. Hopefully we will see you again soon! Best regards, Nina, reception Service Manager

Very clean, comfortable and spacious hotel. Amazing breakfast. I especially loved the yogurts, berries, compotes and homemade breads. Very nice to be outside of the city center and enjoy such lovely nature scenes, with huge hares hopping around outside at night, swans and their ducklings swimming in the sea, explore the walking trails in the forest, and waking up to beautiful sunrises over the Baltic.
Response from Property: I have passed your review onto the whole team who were very pleased to hear your comments. We strive to provide a clean and comfortable environment for our guests at all times! Happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Heidi Jansson Reception Manager

Hotel Rantapuisto os located in the beautiful nature of Finland. The architecture is spectacular and the hotel offered sauna, gym and breakfast. We booked the Nolla Cabin, which also included a hotelroom at the Hotel. The prime guest seaview room had a Merimekko theme- and that (apart from the stunning architecture and breakfast) was the only plus with the hotel. Its so unfortuned that this beautiful hotel is such in a bad condition. A proper facelift (outside and inside) would give justice to this beautiful funkkis-style hotel which screams Finninsh architecture and design. The Breakfast was really nice and the staff helpful and nice as well. Our room had a seaview which was beautiful, if you would look a bit down at the reck of the balcony you could see mold and fungus growing on the reck. Our primeroom was in desperate need of a facelift, especially the bathroom. The carpetfloor in the corridor smelled and had old stains on it. The hotel is animalfriendly, which means you can have pets with you. On our way to the restaurant we saw some dog poo in the corridor =// The location offers a viarity of options to experience finnish nature! Close by is also shoppingmall Itäkeskus one of Helsinkis largest mall.
Response from Property: Thank you for visiting us and for your valuable feedback! The hotel is from 1963 and we try our best to keep it in the original architecture and form. I do understand your concern about the condition of the hotel and we do have a renovation coming/planned for the hotel, so that we can repair things brought by time. Great to hear that you still enjoyed the breakfast and the architecture. We will use the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we provide a better experience in the future. Have a lovely rest of the summer and hopefully we will see you again! Best regards, Nina, reception

Stayed here for three very hot days toattend a nearby wedding. Excellent choice, comfortable rooms with aircon, great breakfast. Close to the beach which was perfect and lovely local walks. Not for from the metro station for ease of access into town. Large conference type place, but highly recommend,

Great location. Property is a little tired, but pleasant. I liked how the building’s architecture fits with surrounding nature. That said, some abandoned construction on site spoils the view a bit. The room was pretty hot probably due to poor insulation and lack of proper ventilation. We had to run a/c all night in order to stay cool. I would’ve preferred to open the window. We tried to open small vents on the sides of the window, but it didn’t help much. The view however was magnificent. Breakfast was very nice with some traditional dishes along with typical breakfast buffet.

5-10 mins bike ride from thee underground station, wonderful setting by the sea. There are bike stands just to the left of the main entrance. You can walk down to the beach/jetty to plunge into the water in the morning (robe included). excellent breakfast, nice early 70-ies vibe about the placee. good walks, but really little to do closeby.

I arrived 08.30pm Sunday evening in hotel Rantapuisto. My plan was to have some dinner, few drinks and then get to sleep. The reception told me that on Sundays restaurant is not open at all. It was also "too late" to buy beer from the reception. Finally, my last hope was a minibar in the room - there was not a one!!! Finally I took a taxi to the nearest (4 km) restaurant. So, if you wanna stay in this hotel, better to bring your own food and drinks...

This hotel is situated beautifully where land meets the Baltic sea. We arrived on a sunny day and after checking in, we took a stroll down to the beach about 50 meters from the room. Wonderful! After the walk, we strolled back up to the hotel, and could enjoy a drink in the yard, with a light breeze coming in to combat the rather hot evening temperature. The hotel is in 70s style, but not run down at all. Instead, they've managed to keep it looking fresh and inviting. The staff is professional and helpful, and it seems they've been waiting for a chance to take care of guests again, now that the C19 restrictions are being lifted slowly. The room we had was placed in an annex. It was nice and tidy, but somewhat thinwalled, since we could hear people coming and going in the corridor. After a good night's sleep in the comfortable beds, we strolled over for breakfast, which was fresh and very tasty. With big windows overlooking the beach and Baltic sea, breakfast was very uplifting. We will definitely be back.
