As someone who often travels by car, the biggest headache is finding a parking space, but that's completely not an issue here! The parking lot is astonishingly spacious, with multiple levels both above and below ground. It's wide and open at a glance, like a dedicated car 'oasis.' Even during peak tourist season, it's easy to find an empty spot, so there's no more wasting time circling around on the street.

DDavid1980The hotel is very nice, clean, and simple, with friendly and attentive staff, which made our stay comfortable overall. However, one key issue significantly impacted our experience. The hotel advertises that it has a gym, which was the primary reason we booked our stay, as we wanted to maintain our fitness routine while away from home and unable to use our usual gym membership.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the ”gym” consisted of only two treadmills and no other equipment. This was extremely disappointing, as a gym should provide a variety of fitness equipment to accommodate different workout needs. Advertising a facility as a gym when it is essentially just a room with treadmills feels misleading.
If your facility only has treadmills, it would be more accurate to advertise it as such, rather than labeling it a gym. A proper gym typically requires a minimum set of equipment, including:
1. Cardio Machines: At least treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes.
2. Strength Equipment: Free weights (dumbbells, barbells) and resistance machines.
3. Functional Training Tools: Items such as yoga mats, kettlebells, or medicine balls.
This would ensure clarity for guests who choose hotels based on their fitness facilities. While we appreciated the cleanliness and service, the lack of transparency regarding the gym was a major letdown.

MMenggudeyueyaFor my trip to Hohhot, after checking out several hotels, I specifically opted for the Shangri-La, which is considered one of the pricier options in the city.
Its location is decent, nestled between Dazhao Temple and the Inner Mongolia Museum, and also conveniently close to Kuan Alley.
However, the hotel seems to have been open for quite a while, and its facilities are showing their age. The rooms aren't very large, and the toiletries provided are quite basic. While this might be understandable for the region and likely considered acceptable by local standards.
The breakfast spread wasn't particularly diverse, and I personally found it quite average. If you're visiting as a tourist, I'd recommend eating breakfast at Kuan Alley instead – it offers better value for money and tastier options.

XXieyuanyuanAs luck would have it, we all work in the government affairs system, and we naturally developed a good impression before we even checked in! The hotel has a beautiful natural environment, standardized management, and is not far from various scenic spots in the city. The front desk staff who checked in at the Guobin Building 11 were polite, enthusiastic, thoughtful, and responsive. Zhang Yanan, the manager of the housekeeping department, personally sent us to the room, introduced the relevant facilities of the room, and sent welcome fruits. The area in the room is relatively large. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are still well maintained, and there are full of details everywhere, giving people a feeling of being at home. The breakfast is currently a set meal, with a reasonable price and good taste. Next time I come to Hohhot, I will choose Xincheng Hotel.
