#positive #I was happy with the Room Layout, Hotel Smell, Bed Comfort Level, Nearby Activities; Very good! We were given a free upgrade! The hotel environment is great. You can walk to the cable car to the mountain to go to Lake Oesinen. Staying at the hotel will get you a 20% discount on the cable car ticket. There are many restaurants around and a supermarket outside.

The apartment of the Victoria hotel in House B was top notch, a real gem! It was light, roomy, luxury, cosy and fully equipped. Also, the parking garage underneath was very practical. The Victoria is located in the centre of the Kandersteg village with everything closeby and all hotel services (like the swimming pool) are also available to the apartment guests. All in all, we really enjoyed it!

This is my fifth or sixth visit to the hotel over the years. As ever, the hotel is welcoming. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The rooms are clean and functional. Breakfast is good. The bar is a good place for an after ski drink at the end of the day.

We stayed at the Victoria Alpine Park in an apartment that belongs to Belle Epoque Hotel Victoria. Apartment´s location was quiet and peaceful with fantastic views towards the mountains from the big balcony and windows.

What a fantastic experience ! clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff. the manager (sadly i did not get his name) was a pleasure to talk with. Nadia who waits upon you in the dining room, has the most radiant smiles i have seen. She is a wonderful person and JEWEL of the hotel.

Enjoyed the interior design, the breakfast buffet and the overall feel. Clean and comfortable. The location is close to the bus stop, train station , the picturesque church and shops. Because a lot of guests participated at a trail tun with a 7am start, the hotel offered breakfast from 6am onwards instead of 7am. Great effort.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. However we were badly let down by very poor customer service. Despite the 30° temperature the radiator in our bedroom was full on, making our room unbearable. Reported immediately on check in, the knob was broken but we were assured it would be fixed (my husband said if he had had a pliers he could turn it off in 30 seconds). However 24 hrs later there was no change so again reported it. Clearly no attempt had been made to fix the situation. We were repeatedly told that the hotel was completely full and there were no rooms vacant. However when we checked there were indeed rooms free, albeit at a more expensive rate. When we pointed that out, there was no apology for lying to us. Initially it was even suggested we pay the difference in price! Eventually we got the upgrade, had a better night’s sleep, but would not stay here again because of this poor attitude towards guests.

Fantastic hotel. We were half board with Inn Travel and food of a very high standard and a wide range of choices. The breakfast buffet was good quality and extensive, too. We had a huge room at the front, 327, with a walk-in wardrobe! Beds were very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The pool is amazing! Swimming with a view of the mountains was such a fantastic experience and for an extra cost you can book the sauna just for your own use. Very well situated, 5 mins walk to the station (bus from right outside if you need one), mini-market next door and tourist information next to that. Staff lovely, nothing too much trouble, would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with the most epic views. It was a great home base for our trip. We drove from Geneva up to Grindelwald to hike for the day, and then back to Kandersteg for the hotel and to spend the rest of our holiday in that area. The pool was a fantastic antidote to our sore feet and a treat for the kids. Breakfast was phenom. The only thing that I think could have been improved upon would be to have a very small mini fridge in the room. Our ice packs were in need of a freezer and our meats, cheeses and houmous from each day of hiking didn't last long without a fridge. Otherwise, I will definitely be returning and will recommend it to friends.

Very nice hotel with stylish look. Short walking distance from train station, close to supermarket, shops and restaurants. Staff are very friendly. Dining room and lobby lounge have fancy design. There is also a library and swimming pool! Room design was classic European style. Food was good also.

We were a multigenerational family coming to Kandersteg to see the mountains and enjoy some good hiking. This hotel is perfectly situated near the train and bus stops. It feels like stepping into a beautiful hotel in the 1920s. Wonderful areas available to meet guests from all over the world, sip a pre-dinner cocktail or relax with a book and cup or tea before bed. My teenage children loved the hotel as much as my elderly parents. The rooms were clean, spacious but not cavernous, and had amazing views from every side of the hotel. I would be a permanent resident of the Belle Epoque if they would let me!

During our stay in Kandersteg we stayed at the Belle Epoque hotel. We called as we were about to arrive late and they gave us a pincode for the door and the key was put in an envelope at the reception. So no problem at all! The vibe of the hotel was like the movie "the grand budapest hotel", an old, large, quiet hotel. The room was large, tidy and clean with a balcony with a great view! The breakfast was delicious with much choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave good tips about hiking in the area as we had never been there before. We chose to have dinner at the restaurant as well. This tasted absolutely amazing! For Swiss touristy places was this relatively ok priced. I would definitely recommend staying here!

A historical and old-charmed building located in beautiful surroundings with only about 5 min. walk to train station. The traditional elevator was very impressive. The well-provisioned room was spacious with antique furniture and modern bathroom with walk-in shower. The breakfast buffet, offered a vast array of choices, was delicious and extensive. The staff was helpful during check-in and check-out.

Whilst in general the hotel wasn’t too bad there were issues around the whole dining experience. We were with a group (GRJ) and particularly for the evening meal the food was not great. Some of our party had to wait for pork as this ran out TWICE. The food didn’t look inviting and the service was poor. At one point we started to clear the table ourselves as staff hadn’t done this. The detail said tea and coffee making facilities were in the room but there was only a coffee machine and a kettle wasn’t available it seems. The pool was ok but the sauna wasn’t available. On the last night, a free glass of wine was available with the meal but soft drinks (the lady sitting next to me ) were to be charged to the room.
Response from Property: Dear Nigel Many thanks for your review. we apologise that this has happened to you with us. We had some great pork steaks that evening and unfortunately it took longer to cook them than we were used to. We had more choices at the buffet than just the pork steaks. Kind regards from Kandersteg

Wow, this hotel was unbelievable! I can’t say enough good things about the staff. At the front desk they were super helpful. The kids room so great to have for our son. But the food was by far the best part about our stay. The breakfast was soooo incredible and we ate at restaurant Ritter both nights and the food was out of this world. My family and I are vegetarian and it’s not always easy to find food while traveling but they were so happy to accommodate us and it was delicious. I wish I had found out our waiters name because he was so nice and patient, really fabulous service. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!!
