We had an excellent three nights stay as part of our holiday in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. The setting was idyllic and peaceful, with incredible views from all areas of the property. All staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and we took every opportunity to eat authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. While at the property we experienced an eco walk around the estate, cooking lessons in the kitchen with the chef and a tour with the tea factory manager. All were very informative. It was a nice place to relax after a busy day out and we were always well looked after. The hotel manager ensured that all of our needs were met and constantly checking that we were alright and that everything was prepared for our next stage of the trip. We were accommodated in the Cinnamon Room which was ideal for us as a couple.

We had a very warm welcome to our first stop in Sri Lanka nice cool flannels and a pleasant drink while we covered formalities. A tour of the property followed showing us our room and all the facilities. The room was lovely and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed plenty of hanging space and beautifully clean. The shower and bathroom nicely appointed and very clean. The odd power outage added to the fun of the place they seemed to be short and not too much bother. We did wonder why the torch was pointed out on our tour of the room, although we never actually used it. Mr G Sylvester was most attentive and looked after us during our stay whenever we went to eat or looking for a drink he would be nearby but in an unobtrusive way. All the staff looked after us equally well but Mr Sylvester deserves special praise. The cooking morning was fun and the best bit was eating the result. The tea tour was very informative and interesting. The food could not be faulted plentiful and extremely tasty. The guide showed us a round walk on the first day and we followed that on other days. The wild life especially monkeys are abundant and the greenery lovely.

Loved it here. Great location and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I did a yoga class which was brilliant. We also did a walk through the grounds visiting the tea and rubber plantation. It was our last couple of days in Sri Lanka and Rosyth was perfect

This small hotel is tucked away up in the mountains, but very near to Kegalle. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, from the minute we arrived, the staff were attentive and wanted to make sure we got the most from our stay. The Sri Lankan menu was excellent and we took part in a cooking experience, which we would encourage anyone to try. They offer yoga and walks to see the local planation and meet the villagers working in and around the estate. We did a short tour of the tea house and found out all about how they are producing their artisan tea - which was delicious. Our time at Roysth introduced us to Sri Lanka and their culture - it is a very special place to stay. We took the train to Kandy from here.

We loved our stay at Rosyth. We thought the whole environment was fantastic. We love the small scale of the site, with the friendly and homely atmosphere emphasised by such welcoming and engaging staff. We loved the attention to detail and the small touches such as the foot massage on arrival. We particularly enjoyed the cooking session and the explanation of the tea production process, both due to your excellent staff members. Our room was excellent (Plantation Pepper Suite), with its marvellous view and outdoor pool, and the food was always of the highest standard.

Beautiful boutique hotel in beautiful grounds, food excellent and the staff are some of the best i have experienced. Our accommodation had stunning views and there are some beautiful walks and even cookery lessons which we loved. the tea plantation was also very educational and the tea was exceptional.

In this quintessential retreat hidden in the hills just off Kegalle, there is a serene tranquility that pervades the space around you … We stayed in the Pepper room, which was well appointed, and with stunning views across the valley and beyond. Neil and Farzana welcomed us on arrival, and were the most charming hosts during our stay. Both food and service were faultless, and I would encourage anyone to participate in the Estate Tour with Chandra, the hotel guide: he is knowledgeable and well informed, and has specialised in venom extraction on snakes, in case anyone is interested ! The ambience in and around Rosyth Estate is comfortingly serene, and is enhanced by the artwork dotted around the our room and the common areas, as well as the vista of the surrounding nature. A wonderful experience: I would definitely recommend for the more discerning traveller seeking a dose of relaxation and placidity …

We had a brilliant 3 days at Roysth Estate! It was the last leg on our 2 week trip with out 18 month old around Sri Lanka and certainly the highlight! So many thoughtful details such as a baby monitor set up in our room and placing us close to the action so we could allow Arthur to nap whilst we were by the pool! The food was insanely good and the tea factory tour was fascinating! The staff were all so accommodating and delightful with out son. He was so well looked after and became a huge fan of hoppers and roti! Neil and Farzana were fabulous hosts and made you feel at home instantly- when we arrived it felt more like arriving to a family party than a hotel! The rooms were lovely and the whole hotel has been decorated in such a thoughtful and tasteful manner. The spa was also brilliant- the complimentary foot massage on arrival was very welcome after a long drive! Would highly recommend to anyone, especially as its only just over 2 hours from the airport so makes an ideal place to get over jetlag or top off a trip!
